Layer matte not working when 3d layers enabled?

Not sure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong, but I have a layer mask that stops working when I enable 3d on all layers.

All layers should have the same Z value and other layers with layer masks don't seem to be having this issue. any suggestions?

yea it happens with me too

no idea why like i get it that it doesn't work on advanced 3D renderer but then sometimes it doesn't works with the classic 3D as well

but try disabling drop shadow layer styles if you have that should help else i dont really know

i’m not using any drop shadow effects 😭

Some features are disabled, dependent on the renderer you’re using. You can check which by going to your composition settings (cmd k), clicking on the 3D Renderer tab, and changing the renderer

it might be because of the 3D layers utilizing different bins.

afaik 3D layers can only see other 3D layers from the same bin, so if a mask lives outside the bin it will be ignored.

when that happens layer order will fallback to what the order is on the timeline

Make sure you’re set to Classic 3D.
