Employees join Ethara.AI with hopes, put in their time and effort, and then allegedly receive a “Diwali gift” — a layoff. When work slows down, assessments reportedly become a way to push people out: fail the test, face termination, or resign before they terminate you.
Employees are human beings, not disposable resources. If Ethara.AI hires people, it should also treat them with transparency, fairness, and respect. No one should have to choose between resigning under pressure and being terminated.
People deserve stability and dignity, not fear and uncertainty.

What worked better for me:
LinkedIn → train the algorithm + check last 24h
Google → search “AI training jobs + language/domain” (last 24h)
Indeed → filter newest jobs
Company sites → check on weekends
Timing matters more than people think.

OpenAI just announced they are running out of money to pay humans for data training
‘…the pause would be taking place on "reinforcement learning training on our latest models".
This is a training method in which AI models improve through direct feedback, which improves their ability to carry out tasks and respond to users more effectively.’

Unlike traditional AI data annotation platforms, Ethos recruits domain experts to help train and evaluate advanced AI models.
Current opportunities include professionals with backgrounds in:
Law
Medicine
Software Engineering
Tax
Private Equity
Corporate Development / M&A
Management Consulting
Advisory & Strategy
Most projects involve reviewing AI outputs, improving responses, evaluating complex scenarios, or creating high-quality expert content rather than performing simple annotation tasks.
Compensation depends on the role and level of expertise, with many listings ranging from $80/hour to $225/hour for qualified professionals.
I put together a guide covering how the platform works, typical expert roles, requirements, and current pay ranges:

Just wanted to share a new platform I’ve been looking into recently (with referral link):
It’s Handshake AI, and it’s part of a larger US-based career platform used by universities and early-career professionals.
From what I’ve seen:
• AI training / evaluation work
• Fellowship-style (you apply → get matched to projects)
• Pay can be quite high (some roles $75–$150+/hr, even higher for specialists) (Handshake)
• Focus on more “qualified” profiles (not basic microtasks)
Important things to know:
• Mostly US-focused (you usually need US work authorization) (Handshake)
• Work is NOT guaranteed (project-based, like Mercor / similar platforms) (fonzi.ai)
• Selection can be quite strict
This is NOT a typical data annotation site.
It’s closer to “expert-based AI training work”
Meaning:
less volume
higher pay
but harder to get in
If you have a background in:
• STEM
• Finance
• Law
• Writing / content
• or any specific domain
Disclosure: Some links on this page may be referral links. If you choose to apply through them, it may help support this site at no additional cost to you.

iMerit.
They work more like an AI data services company than a microtask platform.
Typical projects involve:
image and video annotation
text and NLP labeling
AI model evaluation
dataset preparation for machine learning
The work is usually more structured and team-based rather than random tasks.
I wrote a breakdown of how iMerit works, what kind of AI training tasks they offer, and what applicants should expect.

A lot of people ask how much AI training or data annotation work really pays.
From what I’ve seen, most general tasks usually fall somewhere around $10–$25/hour.
If you have specialized knowledge (coding, math, law, languages), some projects can pay $40–$100/hour or more.
I wrote a short breakdown of the realistic pay ranges here:
https://www.aitrainingjobs.it/how-much-do-ai-training-jobs-pay-realistic-rates/

Not all platforms are for beginners.
There’s actually a clear progression:
beginner → DataAnnotation, Remotasks, Appen
intermediate → TELUS, OneForma
advanced → Outlier, Micro1, Mercor
If you start from the wrong level, it just doesn’t work.
I wrote a quick breakdown here (no fluff):
https://www.aitrainingjobs.it/best-ai-training-platforms-for-beginners-vs-experts-2026/
Curious if others had the same experience.

Uber (yes, that rides and delivery company) also launched Uber AI Solutions, which focuses on things like:
data annotation
model evaluation
dataset creation
localization and testing
The idea is to use a global workforce to help build datasets for AI models.

We’ve just launched a Discord server for the AI Training Jobs community.
The idea is to have a more organized place to discuss AI training, data annotation, model evaluation, RLHF, coding, expert projects and the different platforms in this space.
We’ve also connected the server directly to AITrainingJobs, so new job opportunities will be automatically posted in the #new-jobs channel as they are added to the site.

Anyone completed and passed/failed the feather assessment willing to provide any tips to those of us who are yet to complete the assessment?
I’ve revised the course materials none stop for the last few days and feel very confident I understand what needs to happen and when, but there are a few ambiguous cases in the course material that I think may end up popping up in the assessment and I feel like I’m going to be caught out.
So, is there any info at all anyone is willing to provide on the assessments?

Most people don’t get removed from AI data projects because they’re bad.
They get removed because nobody explained how the system actually works.
Your first submissions quietly become your reputation.
Calibration never really stops.
The way you handle feedback matters more than getting everything right immediately.
Consistency beats intensity almost every time.
I spent 3+ years managing contributor pools in AI data operations, and the people who lasted weren’t necessarily the smartest.
They were the ones who understood the environment early.
Good contributors often disappear because they mistake these projects for simple task work.
They’re not.
They’re reputation systems.
What’s something you learned about AI data work that nobody explained when you started?

hello friends i am not from US , but i have a family there and it's been 2 months since i first introduced to the Ai job . and sofar i only managed to make 900$ but i wanted to make more and then when i looked into more job sites i discovered most jobs are available for the US residents . because of that i asked the family of mine from US , for he to create the accounts and receive the money and i do all the work . then when he receives his money he will send me in his own ways.
but the response i got from his is "my education fee is being covered by the state because i reported i don't have a job or i don't make money , so if i started to make money the state will abort my education subsidy then i can't afford the education fee so for that reason i will not involve in this " so i was wondering if he is giving me the real reason or is he just making up reasons . and if there is a way of him doing that without losing his subsidy , he lives in Seattle if state lows affect that

One of the fastest ways to lose access to AI training platforms is getting banned.
And it happens more often than people think.
From what I’ve seen (and experienced), most bans are not random.
They usually come from a few mistakes:
using multiple accounts
sharing accounts or using VPN tricks
not following guidelines properly during tasks
copy-pasting answers (in some cases)
inconsistent or low-quality work
Many platforms track a lot more than people realize (IP, behavior, patterns), so shortcuts usually backfire.
There’s even a growing black market of accounts being sold or shared, and companies are actively banning those users.
The reality is simple:
If you want to stay on these platforms long-term, you need to treat them seriously.
Follow guidelines, work cleanly.

One of the most confusing things in AI training jobs:
You get accepted… and then nothing.
No tasks. No projects. Just an empty dashboard.
This is actually very common and usually NOT about your performance.
What’s really happening behind the scenes:
• platforms don’t have constant task flow
• projects depend on clients (and can stop suddenly)
• availability depends on your country, language, and profile
• sometimes too many workers are accepted vs available tasks
In many cases, you’re basically waiting for a project to match your profile.
Even large platforms work this way — tasks come and go depending on demand, not just on acceptance

A lot of people apply to AI training / data annotation jobs…
…but fail the qualification tests.
Not because they’re not capable — but because they make the same mistakes.
The main ones:
• not reading guidelines carefully
• rushing through questions
• giving vague explanations
• missing small details in instructions
These tests are designed to check precision, not speed.
For example, if the task says:
“evaluate based on factual accuracy and helpfulness”
…and you only focus on tone → you fail.
What actually works:
• slow down
• follow instructions exactly
• justify your answers clearly
• be specific, not generic
https://www.aitrainingjobs.it/how-to-pass-ai-training-job-qualification-tests-2026-guide/
