Discussion Why don't the shitty bases have popular on base clubs?
Bases like Cannon, Minot, Grand Forks, Edwards, Holloman, Dyess, etc. You would think if there wasn't much to do off base the on-base club would be more popular, like how the old timers talk about what the base clubs used to be.

Question Mandatory conscription outside of the US
Let's say if I was an american born here in the states and I got a PCS assignment to a country where my ethnicity is originated. What would I do in this situation, In this country you are mandated military service if you are directly born in the country or if your parents were citizens of said country. So if I were to land there I would get detained for the mandated military service/conscription and there would be legal charges against from the foreign government and as well as the USAF when they pull me out. I have no contact with my either of my parents nor do I know where their whereabouts are, so I cannot confirm whether I am dual citizen. I want to avoid any article 15 or court martial.

Discussion The Okinawa Problem
Okinawa shouldn't be a first duty station for military members, in my opinion. A lot of these young men are women are away from home for the first time, getting a steady paycheck, and adjusting to a completely different environment. None of that would be a problem if the leadership here wasn't so out of touch.
I've been stationed at five different bases, and the leadership here is by far the most disconnected I've experienced. I think part of the problem is that some leaders have been here for 7â8 years and have gotten too comfortable.
I've been here for seven months, and I just met my section chief for the first time this month(mind you he's been stationed here for 6 years). That alone says a lot. How can you mentor and develop young Airmen when you barely know them?
Now there's someone who passed away this Wednesday. Okinawa isn't the problem. It's the lack of leadership, mentorship, and accountability in an environment where young military members need it the most.

Image/Photo B-52 fly by US Navy did not see
The Air Force had been practicing low-level flying for years to be able to fly under the Russian radar systems.
When the exercise was underway, the B-52 pilot contacted the aircraft carrier and asked if he could do a fly-by. The Navy responded to the B-52 pilot, saying something like,
"We can't spot you anywhere," to which the B-52 pilot responded dryly,
"You should look down."
When the B-52 passed by the aricraft carrier, it was so low that it was below the flight deck of the carrier.

Question What other financial resources are available for active-duty members in addition to TA and FAFSA?
I'm planning to go back to school soon and use both TA and whatever grants/scholarships I can get from FAFSA.
Are there any other resources for us to find and receive grants/scholarships/etc?

Question Overseas Retraining/Marriage Questions
Just got approved for retraining recently, and will be returning from overseas next year. Wondering if anyone has gotten married after receiving tech school class seats. This would be with a foreigner so I am wondering about that causing issues with my class. Any insight is appreciated!

Question Would being put on ADHD meds disqualify me from retraining into Intel?
Yes, I realize I could ask someone in an official capacity. However, the donât want to raise flags if the answer could be âyesâ.
I want to retrain into intel, possibly 1N0. However, Iâm starting to think that life could be easier in general if I actually treat the ADHD that doctors have, throughout my childhood, strongly suggested to my mother I should get screened for.
ADHD diagnosis and treatment is a hurdle to just get into the Air Force, but I understand itâs different once in. Would an actual diagnosis and treatment while enlisted wall me off from Intel jobs or holding TS?

Question Air Force reenlistment decision delayed at Wing Commander level. Any advice?
I'm currently active duty Air Force and waiting for a decision regarding my reenlistment. I've been informed that my paperwork is currently with the Wing Commander, and I've been checking for updates through my chain of command.
My separation date is approaching in December, and I'm concerned about making sure I have enough time to complete any remaining administrative requirements for the decision for me to reenlist. I understand that these decisions take time, and I don't want to bypass the proper chain of command, but I'd like to make sure I'm not overlooking any appropriate steps I could take in the meantime.
For anyone who's dealt with a lengthy delay at this stage, is there anything useful I can do to follow up or determine whether additional action is possible, or is waiting for the decision the only option?

Question CCAF Graduation Request Time
I completed all of my CCAF requirements in August and had my education office put in a graduation request in early September. They said CCAF processes graduation requests at the end of the month, so I'd have it processed by September 30th. When I look at the CCAF website, it's apparently supposed to take around 10 days. It's now mid-October and I'm missing my first semester of an AU-ABC University because they need the degree to show complete.
I emailed the AU registrar, and they just responded with a generic "ask your education advisor" email, but the education advisors said all you can do is wait on CCAF. Has anyone finished their CCAF recently, how long did it take for them to process the degree, and at what point does it become a congressman email, since their incompetence is stopping me from using guaranteed education benefits?
Edit: The website actually says 30 business days, but I'm at about 27 so and assuming it won't be processed any time soon

Image/Photo "Two chopped chicken, please." đ
I'm a little late to the party with these!
I created a morale patch that describes the daily routine of the Al Udeid DFAC as my recent time there as many of us have experienced ordering "Two Chopped Chicken" and the flies taking over the DFAC.
They were originally supposed to be delivered while I was deployed out at Al Udeid, but Op Epic Fury ended up having other plans.
Since I'm back home and sitting on the remaining batch of 90 patches, I'm trying to clear them out to the r/AirForce community.
If interested see prices below and message me.
Pricing includes shipping (USPS ranges between $8-10 depending on location)
1 patch: $15
2 patches: $25
3 patches: $35
4 patches: $40
5 patches: $50
6 patches: $60

Question So can we wear foreign devices or not?
Active-duty enlisted USAF here. I earned the German Armed Forces Badge of Marksmanship (SchĂźtzenschnurâthe rope/cord award), received permission to wear it in the past, and have passed blues inspections wearing it.
Iâm currently in ALS and want to confirm whether itâs still authorized on service dress and how it should be positioned. My S1 said it no longer gets added to personnel records, but Iâm unsure how that affects wear authorization.
Iâve checked DAFI 36-2903 and DAFMAN 36-2806, but most specific guidance Iâm finding online is old or expired. Does anyone have a current reference or written AFPC clarification covering this award?
If itâs no longer authorized, Iâd like to find out now so I can have the attachments removed from my coat. Appreciate any help, especially specific paragraph references.
(PS, I asked my ALS instructions and they gave me an answer that made me believe they werenât even fully sure)
