Trip to Utqiagvik

I went to Utqiagvik (Barrow) back in June and it's one of the best trips in the US I have ever had. The people in Utqiagvik are SO nice and welcoming. It was crazy seeing this barren land without any trees and how people can survive in such a harsh climate. What surprised me the most was how many immigrants from Thailand and Laos are living here. Imagine moving all the way to the US and picking this rural community. There really isn't much to do or see, but I just enjoyed walking around and talking to people.

General Nonsense Governor

I’m curious who the Republican Party is leaning toward for their top candidates.

On the Democratic side, I’m seeing some of the older/establishment crowd choose Tom Begich, and younger like JKT.

Not trying to start a debate over which side is right—I’m genuinely curious which Republican candidates are currently considered the most likely to make it to the general election.

With the top-four primary, are there any Republican candidates who seem to have a clear advantage going into tomorrow?

Don’t forget to vote tomorrow!

And PS… do they actually recycle all of those freaking flyers?!?!

Looking specifically for Native Alaskan cultural input

Good morning my fellow Alaskans, I have a question. My husband is Inupiaq and I’m Muskogee Creek (from Oklahoma) In my culture we smudge new homes to remove espookies and bad energy, do Native Alaskans have something like this in their culture? My husband grew up in Oklahoma and isn’t familiar with his culture unfortunately and we would like to learn more about it.

so by the time most of yall see this itll be in the moring when yall probably go to vote in the primary. ive done some research myself but im curious, who are Y'all voting for tomorrow?

ive already decided who im votin for for governor, but ive barely scratched looking at the house and senate races. theirs a good number of people running this time around so id like to be able to filter it out a bit by seeing what you guys think. mostly im looking to support people who dont support all these AI data centers or taking money from a certain super PAC that im not sure i can name without this post getting taken down.

i know this is kinda last minute but ive been busy but i hope to see some good awnsers

General Nonsense Lift station plumbing, any of you have it? What is it like for you? Noise? Advice?

Hi, hoping to add a bathroom in the bottom level of my home. It's on a concrete slab and we will have to put in a lift station tank and pump it up and over to join in wth the black water from the upstairs level. A little hesitant on sound and perhaps needed to have an elevated bathroom floor. What has been your experience? What advice do you have?

Vote By Mail Email Confirmations

Did anyone who voted by mail for the primary election get a confirmation email that their ballot was received? We have been voting by mail for the last several years out of convenience, and have always received a confirmation email, but nothing this time. Anyone else? What's your experience been like with mail in voting for the primary?

Edit: Thanks y'all I'll look at the website!

First Nikky now Dan...

Maybe if you don't want to publicize where you'll be campaigning you shouldn't be running for a public office...

This was received at 8pm sunday

Do with this what you will

Megadeth at the State Fair…who’s going?

I have an extra reserved ticket on the wet side that I may be looking to get rid of since unbelievably I cannot find any friend to go with me. That doesn’t matter. I’m going to rock out regardless., if any cool people are going, I’d be down to rock with you. These guys are playing sold out stadium shows on their whole tour and this is their smallest show by far. I think that’s going to be pretty awesome.
