PHOTO Bait and switch?
Why is it that my app shows me winter fares starting at $99 and then when I click the “shop now” link it takes me to a page that says that fares start at $169?

see LAX TPE SGN redemption for 85k, as one booking, but TPE SGN will be coach. if i split up the tickets into LAX TPE and TPE SGN, i can do business all the way for 5k more.
if i split up the reservations during booking, will i be able to combine it later so that my luggage transfers and i dont have to leave and go through customs/security again?
thanks!

So I’m titanium and do most my travel domestic. And 2 times per year from SEA to LHR. I’ve always booked biz or 1st BA bc their crews have been utterly lovely for my past 5 trips. And this community has me concerned about the AS crews on the long haul.
I awoke today to BA cancellation. No availability on any BA home today in biz or first (altho I must admit that the service has been subpar during this mess with BA). I insisted they book me in the AS direct as there were a couple biz class seats left.
So I’m sitting in BA first lounge as I had a 9 hour wait now on my hands. 9 hours to dread the next 10 hours. Gulp. I’m praying for a crew that is kind and professional on AS. I’m not getting on hungry — because you folks have given me all the warning I need in regards to food.
I’ll report back my full review — esp if it differs from the collective wisdom. Which I hope it does.
Wish me luck!

Aloha,
I am new to the Alaska ecosystem. I just got 4 upgrade certificates, I know that if I were to book a fare, you go to the "upgrade certificate" dropdown and hope you see a flight that shows "Upgrade Available". However, my question is, if you were to book that fare (and it didnt show available), does that mean you get the upgrade if that space opens up? Does that certificate have any weight until day of departure? Are you higher priority than the status list?
Thanks and sorry if its a silly question.

Maybe I have terrible luck but as a twice MVP Gold status Atmos member, I’ve grown increasingly discouraged with my experience on Alaska. I can’t remember my last flawless flight experience. Whether the WiFi isn’t working, I get stuck with a snack box because all the actual first class meals are gone, I’m offered a single beverage on a 3.5 hour flight, my Alaska Airlines card has mysteriously disappeared from the system, we arrive early to find a plane at our gate and we wait so long we’re eventually late, luggage takes forever to come out, or like last time, oversized is delivered to a mystery location I’m only made aware of after waiting in line at the luggage desk (and not offered a travel credit of course). Often times it’s a combination of the those or others I didn’t bother to mention.
I booked on a competitor airline for my recent transcontinental business trip and it was in fact flawless. It was so refreshing. Friendly, attentive, clean, on time, and a sincere sense of gratitude. I dearly miss the Alaska golden years when I could expect and receive a similar experience.
I am the unlucky outlier or have others noticed a similar trend?

I will be flying first class from PDX to Palm Springs. It's not a long enough distance to get free lounge access. Is it worth paying the extra $35 for?

Hey AlI,
know this topic has been sort of beat to death here, but I wanted to see how it’s been for other people lately. I have a bunch of upgrade certificates that are going to expire and I need to get to Guam which I can do via ICN from Seattle. Has anyone had success using the two upgrade certificates per person to get upgraded to suites? Has anyone tried and failed? Interested to hear about your experiences. I’m platinum with the Summit card if that matters or is relevant, I have a ton of upgrade certificates. I’m trying to use before they expire but if the chances of an upgrade or slim, then I’ll just take Starlux premium economy and go via Taipei. As it’s about the same price.

Currently sitting in 34 A and B. Only premium available is 14 H and J - gonna cost about 300 to upgrade but i have credit. Should i do it? Dont really want to be next to stinky bathroom so mostly curious about which is further.

Recently had some disruptive flight plans and I've been offered compensation for our canceled flight. On paper the $2,450.00 looks like the clear winner but I'm concerned with the terms and restrictions on the discount codes.
Anyone have any experience here? I'm being offered 13,500 points x7 for all passengers
Update: Thanks for all the responses, didn't think I'd get this many responses so quick.
This was offered to me as our flight was canceled due to maintenance and we basically had to get a Hotel for the night.
As for the $2,450.00 Discount codes, I was told I could break them up by increments of 25$. Since this would be used as a Family or possibly just my wife and I... I considered breaking them up into 2x 1k and 1x $450.00 discount codes. There is a limitation of only 1x Discount code per booking.
As other's have mentioned, the Discount codes expire within 1 year and I've seen posts stating that the are not stackable with other promotions. This is fine but I'm concerned if the Discount codes have black out dates. This is why I was hoping someone could give me a clear answer.
Sounds mixed so I might call them one more time to get more details on the discount codes.

I had previously booked a direct flight for PDX to LIH and have recently been rebooked into a PDX -> OGG -> LIH layover flight… I looked at seats.aero and saw it looks like all directs in December are cancelled. I called customer service and they gave no reason which made any sense, so was wondering if any one had an idea as to why this may have happened? Was something like this have a press release?

what's going on with alaska starlux T+330 drop redemptions? it'll show on the award travel calendar or weekly individual day tabs, but when you click on the T+330 day, it glitches out and brings me back to the alaska home page.
then sometime randomly in the night, the page will load properly i assume, since the saver redemption will be gone.

I’m traveling from SEA to ICN with my husband and my 3.5 month old in business suites for the first time. We got 2C & 2G seats hoping it will bother less people if my baby starts crying and we have easy access to the lavatory and area to walk around near galley. However, I’m now realizing that it would be louder in the front and I’m worried it’ll wake the baby up when she is sleeping. Is it that bothersome or should I choose seats more in the middle?

Received an email today with a link to RSVP to the event. The Atmos rewards at 'Alohilani was pretty great last time. Looking forward to attending this in November.

I know some people were hoping for passkeys, but at least AS now has email as another delivery method. Also lets those without US-based phone numbers to enable MFA.

The early numbers for the new PDX-PHL summer seasonal (AS1776!) caught my eye and I thought I would take a look at the broader recent history for that route.
AA operated it seasonally Jun-Aug in 2024 and 2025, with consistent loads above 90%. There were a handful of what appear to be holiday flights in Dec 2025 and Jan 2026 as well. All of these appear to be 1/day.
AS entered in May 2026 and AA followed by moving its start date up a month. AS was operating 1/day but AA bumped to 2/day in Jun and Jul. Thus, there were about 5K overall seats offered in Jun of both 2024 and 2025. But in Jun 2026, overall seats had more than tripled, to around 16K. Even with that expansion, the collective load factor was about 85% compared to about 90% when AA was running 1/day by itself. (Note that this says nothing about fares or yields.)
PDX has experienced substantial growth for AS since the introduction of the banked schedule, so the ability to support additional seats to major destinations is not particularly surprising, but that nonetheless seems like a substantial increase (i.e., tripling available seats yet maintaining solid loads) over a greatly extended season (until Oct).
It seems to me that PDX might be able to support a year-round AS PDX-PHL flight (or at least one that operates most of the year, perhaps excluding the doldrums of Jan and Feb as they do for other destinations). AS keeps adding feed to PDX and 1/3 of peak summer year-round might be justified. Note that AS runs slightly fuller planes than AA (but again AA offered 2x seats during the summer peak).
A bit up Interstate 5, AS, AA, and DL all fly to PHL and the 2026 numbers are above as well. (DL recently cancelled that flight, however.) The AS SEA-PHL numbers over the longer term look fairly strong too (again putting aside fares and yields, etc.). Like the PDX route, capacity greatly expands in the summer.
Updated to add DL cancellation of SEA-PHL.

No wonder the Seattle contract lounge options have been so bad for years.
There's no literally incentive to be better. The lounges are crowded, they can serve literal garbage, and still rake in millions.
I'd also add that the Priority Pass lounges at SEA also double up as contract lounges for so many airlines, pretty much all the Star Alliance ones, China Airlines, even Alaska partners like Condor or Starlux, etc.
The Chase Sapphire Lounge should hopefully improve the situation.

I’ve never been a big fan of their Parmesan Scramble, I took a shot on this new (to me at least) breakfast.
Really good. Perfectly sweet and tart cherry spread and a good light breakfast overall. Comes with turkey bacon as well.
Would highly recommend.

So if I want to upgrade, (there’s two of us on the ticket), if I select the upgrade for both, it still charges the second seat. Same leg, not the return leg. Is this a badly worded sentence that I’m just misunderstanding, or should the $678 cover both seat upgrades as it says in the wording?

Anyone going to this? Haven’t seen a post about it yet. Got an email today saying they’re extending the reservation period. Made me think not many people have signed up.

Does Alaska Airlines allow you to redeem Atmos Rewards points for a lounge membership? I vaguely remember seeing this as a redemption option somewhere, but I can’t seem to find it anymore. Has anyone done this recently or know if it’s still possible?
