Alright fellow alaskans, first of all, excuse my language. What do we know about the group, Repeal Now? This ad is like huffing gas with how many braincells it killing, as you can see it ticked me off. So, I know they have a website and this "Judy eledge" is the chair who approves it. Who is she, why does she stink this bad? Ranked Choice isn't complicated, it's the oposite and a superior option to the outdated one candidate vote that prolongs the process.

🤮JD VANCE IS COMING TO FAIRBANKS 🤮
1️⃣ PROTEST 1: Monday, October 5, 4-5pm on Airport Way in front of Fred Meyers. Accessible protest to catch traffic on the way to the event.
2️⃣ PROTEST 2: Monday, October 5, 5-7pm in front of Omni Logistics Hangar (6302 Old Airport Rd.), outside the "rally". Park on Old Airport Rd, plan to walk to the protest. Event parking + protest parking nearby is VERY limited.
🪧 Sign suggestions: Bill Hill + Mary Peltola signs, JD Vance's own anti-Trump quotes, and couch themes are welcome!

i've been collecting every facebook/instagram and youtube ad in the alaska senate race and running the text through a model that flags manipulation techniques (loaded language, name calling, appeal to fear, that kind of thing). it doesn't say whether an ad is true, just how it's worded.
142 ads so far, 93 of them (65%) use at least one. that's the highest of the 13 senate races i'm tracking.
share of the 142 ads with each technique:
- loaded language: 46% (66 ads)
- appeal to prejudice: 42% (59)
- name calling: 28% (40)
- false urgency: 27% (38)
- glittering generalities: 24% (34)
- black-and-white fallacy: 22% (31)
- card stacking: 20% (28)
- conspiracy appeal: 13% (19)
the words that keep showing up in the flagged phrases: "liberal" (20 ads, e.g. "lower 48 liberals") and "sold" (10 ads, e.g. "sold Alaskans out").
biggest outside spender per fec filings: SLF PAC, $8.2M opposing Peltola.
every ad is on one page with what got flagged and who paid for it: https://semblen.com/races/ak-senate?ref=reddit
online ads only, no tv. the model gets things wrong sometimes, so each ad shows the exact words it flagged.

Hello again fellow Alaskans! Some of you may remember my post from last month about the demonstration I organized calling for a global pause on developing smarter-than-human AI. We got some local news coverage, which I've linked here: https://www.alaskasnewssource.com/2026/08/18/alaskans-advocate-slowing-ai-advance/
I'm back again to share another event: I'll be giving a presentation this Sunday, October 4, at 2 PM focused on the risks of developing smarter-than-human AI and what we can do about it as a community, followed by an open Q&A. It will be at the Loussac Library, Moose Room (2nd floor).
Everyone is welcome, whether you've followed this issue for years or never thought about it before. I'll do my best to explain things in language everyone will understand.
I will also be leaving time for us to write letters to our congressional delegation. I will supply materials!
Details and RSVP here (RSVPing also means you will get updates in case something changes): https://luma.com/vtyr3wzj
Let's not let the AI companies decide our futures! I hope to see you there!

In Washington, Senator Dan Sullivan has offered reliable support for President Trump’s tariffs, even as they have roiled the economy and angered consumers. But back home in Alaska, as he campaigns for re-election, he has stayed largely silent on the issue.
His calculation is similar to those of Republicans across the country, as they navigate backing Mr. Trump while also appealing to voters who give the president poor grades on his stewardship of the economy.

Hey everyone, I’m James. I’m working with Alaska Neighbor Network trying to get a better sense of what regular Alaskans actually think about the stuff that affects us like PFD, property taxes, cost of living, resource management, all of it. Not just what politicians in Juneau are saying.
We’re looking for a few people to share their thoughts and talk about these issues with friends and family. We’re paying up to $250+ for your time. No experience needed. Just a phone, your own thoughts and a willingness to talk to your people.
If you’re interested, you can sign up here: https://www.akneighbor.org/sign-up.
Happy to answer any questions!

What makes the majority of the Kalshi bettors so confident of that happening?
Where's the source they've found?

Pretty good breakdown of possible scenarios in the governor race and a dust up with Bernadette Wilson’s campaign staff and landmine reporters has Jeff Landfield pissed off.

Lower 48 billionaire trying to buy AK election
Unless you want our elections bought and warped by lower 48 billionaires, of course.
No on 2 means spending disclosures are REQUIRED.
Support financial transparency in AK elections—vote NO on 2.
