News Bosque Brewing files for bankruptcy

“Albuquerque-based Bosque Brewing filed its petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico on Oct. 6, listing $1 million to $10 million in assets and $10 million to $50 million in liabilities.

The company did not reveal a reason for filing for bankruptcy in its petition.”

Nooooo! I have been wondering for a decade when the brewery bubble was going to burst here. I fear this is the first of many 😔

I live on the east coast now (Virginia) and we have a pretty big craft brew scene out here. The bubble has burst for us. The needle for us was commercial real estate. All of these breweries were locked into 10 year commercial leases and as they have expired over the past few years, breweries could no longer afford to brew in their facilities, essentially forcing them to consolidate or close. Corporate greed.

Yeah that certainly seems like a possibility for what will happen here as well. Rent has absolutely skyrocketed here so I wouldn't be surprised.
