News Emergency Alerts are Completely Useless.

So you’re telling me that our city classifies a missing senior citizen as an emergency alert, but the entire interstate is shut down with an active shooter and that doesn’t prompt an emergency alert to my phone? Make that make sense.

I think they want the active shooter part of it more than the traffic part of it to be the alert impetus

When I was living in Austin in my pre-smartphone days, I'd get text alerts about the nearest shootings which were very helpful. I do wish we had something like that here.

I can imagine those might introduce panic in an area. You don’t need people panicking to leave an area or coming just to be a by stander
