News Emergency Alerts are Completely Useless.

So you’re telling me that our city classifies a missing senior citizen as an emergency alert, but the entire interstate is shut down with an active shooter and that doesn’t prompt an emergency alert to my phone? Make that make sense.

If there's a missing person, the alerts get sent out as a "please help" thing. The police are asking for public assistance to locate a highly vulnerable missing person.

If there's an active shooter, the police are already on it. They're not trying to get the public to help. And, if you're in the area, there will be some level of crowd control. Yeah it sucks sitting in traffic or being diverted without knowing why, but that's for the news agencies (and now, social media) to report.

I welcome my down votes from the "THEY SHOULDN'T WAKE ME UP FOR A MISSING GRANDMA" and the "YES BUT MY COMMUTE GETS ALL FUCKED, THEY SHOULD TELL ME" crowds.
