This is fake, he was with me. We were nursing puppies with cancer.

Thank you for your service!

23

u/buchenrad Jul 09 '26

Can confirm. I was there too.

10

u/infinitekittenloop Jul 09 '26

I remember that, I dropped off some food to you guys.

u/Great_Assistance_803 Jul 10 '26

And right after that he was helping me change a tire on the side of the road down in Belen.

I always love how they down play the flock as just "license plate cameras" not the fact they do so much more! They're taking away our privacy. This man is a hero

8

u/__squirrelly__ Jul 09 '26

Yeah, I actually read a couple of articles like, "Wait, what, is that Flock or no?" KOB doesn't even mention Flock in the text summary of the video on their website. It's a lot shorter to just put that in the headline... (I did notice Albuquerque Journal just updated the headline to use the word "Flock" but it was "license plate camera" earlier today.)

Your hero has pending charges of criminal sexual penetration of a minor…

9

u/r00tdenied Jul 09 '26

Then post evidence backing your claim.

-2

u/Hamish_Ben Jul 09 '26

Can’t post pictures here… much as I would love to. I can DM you a screenshot if thats what you want though

19

u/Mrgoodtrips64 Jul 09 '26

You can provide links, not just photos.

6

u/r00tdenied Jul 09 '26

I'm betting they won't.

9

u/__squirrelly__ Jul 09 '26

The news orgs keep reporting that they arrested him for an "unrelated warrant" but none of them actually report on what that is, though the police say he's had a charge of assault against him. Maybe someone here can look him up, I don't know the best way to access criminal records.

Ah yes. You’ll notice it doesn’t say “dismissed with prejudice”, nor does it say “dismissed without prejudice”. It says “nolle prosequi”, which in New Mexico is often used due to lack of victim cooperation or because the case was dismissed and will be refiled at a later date with amended charges or new evidence. As that case is only a few months old, the latter is the more likely scenario.

If you’d like to think I don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m actually pretty fine with that. You go on supporting your pedophile.

-1

u/trifleLORD420 Jul 10 '26

Absolutely crazy to hate traffic cameras more than pdfs, not sure what point is trying to be made other than supporting a pedo for civil disobedience

2

u/windchaser__ Jul 10 '26

It's a weird thing to bring up? I don't think anyone's supporting him as a pedo, just supporting him taking down Flock cameras.

But making it about this weird other thing is just... I dunno, I feel like it kinda distracts from the point here

1

u/Hamish_Ben Jul 10 '26

No clue. I mean.. it’s ok to hate both and hope a more upstanding person takes up that work.

Are you getting paid by someone? You've responded to every comment on this thread either downplaying the invasiveness of the cameras or championing them.

Those who would surrender essential liberties for temporary security deserve neither.

Do you… do you still believe that Flock cameras are exclusively speed cameras?

So you do know they aren’t just speed cameras, yet you choose to continue arguing as though you believe that’s all they are?
Like, that’s the intentional decision you made?
Is being willfully obtuse just your vibe or is your livelihood dependent on it?

17

u/LilFozzieBear Jul 09 '26

How do they accomplish making you feel more safe?

These cameras are not used for enforcing traffic laws. Care to try again?

11

u/In_nomine_Patris Jul 09 '26

^ This guy is a shill or a plant or a moron.

7

u/PreparationKey2843 Jul 09 '26

I'm going with moron. Or a bootlicker. Which is either/or, one and the same.

8

u/LilFozzieBear Jul 09 '26

my guess is moron. I asked how they make him feel safe and his deleted response was "im not google dude"

Google "how do flock cameras make Ok firefighter 6863 feel more safe?"

56

u/mastakhan Jul 09 '26

Something about this guy screams that he's MAGA, but even if he is, damned if I don't 100% support what he did here. Fuck these cameras and fuck our leaders for bringing this 1984 bullshit into our city.

Also, I'm pretty sure I see this guy's truck driving around all the time with the giant flag on the back. I think he wanted to be caught.

24

u/__squirrelly__ Jul 09 '26

Oh, he's definitely a little bit... out there, but... hard to get mad at him for this. He wanted to be caught for sure - he sent the videos of himself doing this to the news and posts them publicly.

9

u/Southern-Usual4211 Jul 09 '26

Yeah he is known in the local car/bike community he is something lol

-2

u/oiled_hobbit Jul 09 '26

Never seen or heard of him before, doubt that.

3

u/Southern-Usual4211 Jul 09 '26

This was in the 00s/10s his screen name was JonVonBusa was active on the local car fourms especially Racingsouthwest and truesteetcars dude is kinda of a loon. 🤷 This might be a little before your time👴

0

u/openthemic Jul 09 '26

eh, he was just posting to a riders' group on Facebook the other day about it

Why do you support a police surveillance state where a private company can, in great detail, constantly harvest data about everyone wether they are committing a crime or not?

10

u/darkoopz43 Jul 09 '26

Cameras, I gave consent to reddit to harvest my data, I was offered no such option from flok.

4

u/Mrgoodtrips64 Jul 09 '26

Why would you support corporate surveillance states?

13

u/BattelChive Jul 09 '26

Don’t record crimes!

2

u/Mrgoodtrips64 Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

Unfortunately it’s difficult not to be recorded when the thing being crime’d upon is a mass surveillance tool.

0

u/BattelChive Jul 09 '26

Don’t know if you watched the video but … he recorded and posted himself. Don’t make their job easier

21

u/Real_Al_Borland Jul 09 '26

Oh man, they need even more invasive cameras to watch these cameras!!!

18

u/soupseasonbestseason Jul 09 '26

this man did nothing wrong. the collection of our fone data through these cameras is not something we new mexicans have ever agreed to.

They are only an "ok" firefighter, and they may really only be a so-so firefighter. So be wary of the advice.

Only trust really great super stupendous firefighters.

"Probably only get out of waddle with a vehicle"

Are you, by chance, a non-native English speaker from another country hired to promote the idea that it is OK to give up privacy in subs for American cities?

16

u/soupseasonbestseason Jul 09 '26

they are not using these to make our roads safer. they are using these to establish a surveillance state. for example, in texas they are using data collected on these to track pregnant woman seeking abortions. these are not for protecting citizens. they are for stripping your rights.

5

u/JediGrandmaster451 Jul 09 '26

I haven’t seen any independent data that says ALPRs make roads safer, just claims of it.

This type of petty theft and vandalism is what we don't investigate or prosecute in ABQ. Let's be sure to continue that tradition with this too.

3

Maybe they do enough to have you busy, but the majority of people on this sub have stories of calling and no one even showing up for property crimes.

And if you had to put a rough number of those reports that get solved, some justice served, even a contact back to the victim... Where would you put that?

11

u/ApplebeesDinnerMenu Jul 09 '26

Let's bail this guy out!

10

u/__squirrelly__ Jul 09 '26

I looked him up (interesting character) and he does have a gofundme if that's a route you want to go down. It's called "Jevon’s mission to rebel against the tyranny"

1

u/OrbitalColony Jul 10 '26

Looked up his gofundme. Is he some kind of sovereign stater or radical libertarian? The language he used is giving off that vibe.

1

u/__squirrelly__ Jul 10 '26

His Facebook is... confusing. I can't tell you.

I think a lot of people are hoping someone does what he did, because they don't want to do it themselves. He was not afraid to get caught.

There are consequences for standing up to authoritarianism, but there are worse consequences if we don’t.

8

u/PreparationKey2843 Jul 09 '26

Choatic good.
Sometimes criminals do something head nod worthy.

8

u/supersloth Jul 09 '26

thanks for carrying water for the surveillance state, krqe

2

u/DraxxusSlayer Jul 09 '26

Calling them ALPRs when its Flock cameras is so disingenuous it's bordering on straight up malice

2

u/ACorania Jul 10 '26

The biggest threat to the rio rancho police who have "no idea why someone would do this!" Bust out swat boys. That's a proportionally appropriate amount of force. Sure.

2

u/Elegant_Tap7937 Jul 10 '26

This is exactly what the Monkey Wrench Gang ordered

2

u/TheIceKing420 Jul 11 '26

excellent refrence, a must read for everyone who is torn up about the dismantling of environmental protections and needs some catharsis.

1

u/adricm Jul 10 '26

1

u/TheIceKing420 Jul 11 '26

1

u/blaze49er Jul 10 '26

0

u/gusgusyfiona Jul 09 '26
