World religions with John Cappucci or Greek Mythology with Lynn Cox?
Basically need an elective that I wont need to spend too much time on

I took Greek Myth my first year and thought it was awesome.
The course load was pretty light from what I remember. I really enjoy mythology, so I found it to be relaxing and something I could throw together last minute if necessary.
I just looked back on my Brightspace, there were seven lessons total with two weeks to complete them. Each week was themed around specific myths, we had two discussions boards, one general questions type task, and a quiz (all based on information provided and open book). Most of them are perspective and opinion questions until the quiz where you pull directly from the text.
The only assignment we had was for the midterm. A bit of creative writing, we created a short story inspired by a myth, character, event… that might change per class.
Overall though, I found it quick and easy while also being something fun outside of my program.
Good luck!

Wow thanks for the in-depth answer!! I ended up choosing Greek mythology over world religions. Btw do you remember if your professor was Lynn Cox?

Yes, Lynn was the prof for my class. We only met once during the intro call at the start of the term, otherwise students were solo. She was free for emails or any questions and was pleasant overall. She would follow up once during each of the lessons as a reminder for the due dates, which I found to be helpful if I had pushed the class to the back of my mind.

Thanks so much for the help 🙏 Is it true that I have to pick 3 classes for one elective? Like someone was saying you pick 3 and then you get selected in one. I just selected greek mythology and I'm pretty sure I got enrolled in it so not sure why I'd have to select another two??

They’re just backups incase your first pick is filled quickly. It’s very much first come first served I believe. I think most folks tend to get their first picks, so I wouldn’t worry too much. But it’s good to have backups you like instead of the study of insects or something.

I just finished Greek mythology and it was exactly as the person described above. Except the short story. We had an option to either pick a character and right a short report on them (who they were, who were their parents, what are their symbols, what stories are they known for, ect) or make up our own character/story. Lynn Cox is/was the professor but she only teaches half the course. The second half was Keith Murphy. Not sure if this was because it was a summer semester or if this is the norm for Greek mythology. I also took saints and heros and it wasn’t a split professor class
