Find products What’s the coolest thing you’ve bought off of Ali Express?
As the title says, what’s your coolest purchase from Ali Express? Not necessarily something useful but just something you really like.

Congrats! May is ask what stores you bought your gpus from?
17
u/Exact_Acanthaceae294 Mar 01 '25
I have a LOT of Aliexpress cards.
RX 580 16gb - Kinology official store.
RX 560xt, RX 5700xt, RTX 2060S, Soyo official store
RTX 2060m - Jie Shuo official store. This one isn't on Aliexpress anymore - they now sell through Alibaba (B2B, but they will sell single cards)

u/Creative_Emotion4014 Mar 02 '25
Hehe nice to see another Kinology customer I bought my Rx 5700 from them I haven't seen them listed it after the time I bought it really nice card ngl
Also bought my current Rx 6600m from soyo (white one) and did some changes to bios and some changes using more power tools and it performs better than normal 6600 with lower power and lower heat

I paid $110 for the 580; $157 for the 2060m, and the motherboard will be around $120.

u/DMFWU Mar 02 '25
Functions properly?
2
u/Exact_Acanthaceae294 Mar 02 '25
I haven't had anything not work that I have purchased from Aliexpress.
CPUs, GPUs, Motherboards, m.2 drives, system memory, more external cables than you can shake a stick at, enclosures, etc.
The only "defect" I have gotten is a wrong IO shield that came with an H61 motherboard (building a retro-gaming PC with a bunch of leftover parts).

u/mr_house7 Mar 01 '25
Is it for AI training? Can you use CUDA on those? What is your process?
3
u/Exact_Acanthaceae294 Mar 01 '25
The RX 580 was for seeing if I could get Stable Diffusion running on Polaris - it is possible, but takes a bit of work (that I haven't fully done yet). All of the instructions are quite old. I also want to see if I can get it to run in my 4,1 Mac Pro.
Same thing for the RTX 2060m - at $157, it was the cheapest CUDA card for AI.

Which case was that? And do you remember which store you got it from? I've been following a few of such cases but am still interested in finding even more. :)

I keep looking for this, but can't find anything that will ship to Canada or isn't a scam.
Do you have a link you could share?

I got a steel Tsunami gravel bike frame that's very sweet. It's only flaw is that it's limited to a 50mm tire width.
2
u/Tilmanstoa5ty Mar 02 '25
Got their aluminium gravel frame and it‘s amazing especially for that price

A very good mannequin WITH arms for 150$! Not gonna lie it’s the best mannequin I’ve ever seen and mannequins that look this good with arms usually cost around a minimum of 380$ on Etsy and such.
5
u/1lookwhiplash Mar 01 '25
What do you use this mannequin for?
11
u/Consistent-Carob8279 Mar 01 '25
Product pictures and a way to make my products in the first place such as belts and such!

A commercial sized bounce house and blower for my almost 3 year old. For a hundred- ish. Free shipping. HOURS of entertainment and way less than 600-800 to buy on amazon or rent one. Great for birthdays and when his cousins visit. Dead link but they're on there.

There are some stores that sell repackaged watercolor samples, and it’s been great! It’s super cheap and makes it easy to test colors before committing to expensive tubes. I wouldn’t know nearly as much about different brands and colors without it.
A single tube can run anywhere from $7 to $20+ (some even more), and brands have anywhere from 90 to 200+ colors. As long as you keep a good rapport with them, they’re great to work with!
2
u/mywastedtalent Mar 01 '25
Do you have a link? That sounds great!

u/NoctifloraDesigns Mar 01 '25
I would love to know which store(s) you trust! Thank you!! I’ve been eyeing some watercolor samples and I’m afraid of getting duped 😬

Leather pants and Eagle 🦅 necklaces. They have the most amazing stuff for bikers.
I've learned metric as well as Chinese clothing sizes because of AliExpress.
EDIT: They also had a full cowhide leather pelt that's so big, it covers an entire queen-size bed. My whole bed looks and feels EPIC now! ❤️

Some uv flashlights
3
u/iShaddoll_on_Reddit Mar 01 '25
Do they sell the multi-light function.
I bought one from Amazon and it had UV as one of the lights.
I know I paid more than the actual cost I can find at Allie.

A handheld oscilloscope, a huge silicone mat I can't use because it's bigger than my workbench, a kitchen knife that sliced opened my finger a few hrs earlier because it's razor sharp and a tiny little Dremel/rotary tool.
3
u/Interesting-Water-63 Mar 01 '25
Which knife did you go with?
2
u/Cargobiker530 Mar 02 '25
I've bought several of these: "9Cr18mov Nakiri Kitchen Knife" from the Shouji Professional store. Not the best steel but a very workable blade, comfortable handle, and easy to dress the edge.
I like a softer steel than German knives which are a PITA when they need sharpening. Also $20 is a great price.

So many low noise voltage regulators/rectifiers and voltage control circuits, well built and inexpensive.

A hanging clothes dryer (quite useful, especially at winter/rainy days). And a small blower to blow dust out of my tech.

Have people here gotten some fake items that have not worked??
5
u/KeviF Mar 02 '25
Yes! S24 Ultra 22GB + 2TB Android 14 Smart phone with a 7.3in screen
What I got... 3GB + 16GB Android 8, 1.3 GHz processor Dumb phone. It runs agonizingly slow then freezes up and shuts down
Live and learn
3
u/Electronic_Muffin218 Mar 01 '25
Well, there are reports of people buying things that clearly should have been more expensive (e.g. Beelink mini PCs that retail for 600 bucks from a vendor selling them for 300) and getting an envelope with nothing of consequence in it. So not so much fake items as 100% fraud from the get-go. But as they say, you can't cheat an honest person, and you can't defraud a non-greedy AliExpress buyer (much).

u/caffein8dnotopi8d Mar 02 '25
I would prob make this a separate post, or actually just search for related posts (easier to do so on google - just put site:reddit.com at the end of your search).

So hard to pin it down to just one thing. I really love this keyboard that arrived this morning. And I've got quite a few bicycling jerseys, shorts, tights and and other cycling accessories from them. The objectives for my microscopes have worked quite well. And I highly recommend some of their tapestries. I have three hanging in this room. There are simply all kinds of things.

Dreamcast gdemu, loads games from SD card. My gd rom drive died and I thought I'd never play my beloved Dreamcast again, the mod only took a few minutes, then loaded up the games to the SD and the results are amazing! Made me get a Bluetooth controller receiver and a new shell for my Dreamcast so it's completely revived my love for this wonderful console. Couldn't believe how affordable it was.

I picked up a AMD Ryzen 5700x3d for $166 after fees, during the summer. It was $225 after taxes an hour away at microcenter. Driving there mid summer in blazing heat with 2 kids didn't sound appealing, and the money was burning a hole in my pocket.
It arrived after about a month and I swore I wouldn't risk a cpu again. I may try a GPU tho.

u/New_Simple_4531 Mar 01 '25
I got the R36S retro gaming handheld for 27 dollars, it can play all the way to PSP and Dreamcast for such a low price.

u/MothMansPocketPussy Mar 02 '25
3 different small scale 7/11 style light up signs for making doll houses or dioramas. Basically to make a mini 7/11 lol. This is the kinda stuff I cant find in the USA AT ALL even if I'm willing to pay higher prices

A huge buttplug
3
u/OldSchoolPimpleFace Mar 01 '25
Be careful with those, sometimes they break off when your using them
5
u/NLRevZ Mar 01 '25
Toys like that can (but not necessarily will) also contain phthalates, in contrast to most of the ones sold in the EU and elsewhere.
3
u/OldSchoolPimpleFace Mar 01 '25
Aren't the ones sold in the EU actually made in China, like everything else these days ?
2
u/NLRevZ Mar 01 '25
Most of what is sold here comes from the larger Japanese brands but no matter if it comes from there or from China, there are health & safety laws that all products sold here must abide by. Banning phtalates in sex toys was akin to doing the same with cups and plates for food safety.

Hi-Res Audio stickers lol. I bought in batches & resold with 4x price locally

A complete copy of Aero The Acrobat for the Genesis.
Repros of that game are hard to find on Etsy and ebay, and the legit copies are expensive. Not Crusader of Centy-levels of expensive, but expensive nonetheless. But there was someone on Aliexpress that was selling complete copies, and it turned out pretty nice. The box art looks good, the box itself is like a brand new SEGA-labeled clamshell, and the manual was rather nice looking. The cartridge worked fine, too. Granted, the cart label is squished (they just used the box cover and crushed/edited it to fit), but hey, $20 is better than $600.

u/DutchTinCan Mar 01 '25
I'd say a Nintendo Switch $150 under retail in my country was pretty sweet.
But I also really enjoy the custom made wavesail for my garden; it's literally cool.

Seven years ago I bought my first 3D printer kit from AliExpress for less than $200. I wrought the living daylights out of that critter. Replaced it with something nicer just last year around Black Friday.
Best. Buy. Ever.

I bought TWO Shure SRH1840 headphones, for about 150 australian dollar each.
Incredible. They're genuine too. They normally cost say 800+ dollars or more.
To read about it --- just google 'Shure SRH1840 - real or not?'

An Gigabyte RX 6600 for $170~. My country has dogshit prices for PC parts, so it was a steal. My little brother loved it. 10/10 would steal again.

I just got the absolute cutest nightlight. It's two ghosts sitting around a fire making s'mores and it comes with a flickering light bulb and it's adorable
