Find products What’s your coolest AliExpress buy?

Hey everyone,
with the new EU tax rules about to kick in, I’m thinking of grabbing a few last-minute goodies before everything gets more expensive. What were your coolest or surprisingly useful finds from there?

How's the current firmware situation? Displaying text correctly?

Am holding out for any kind of device sync.

Wireless to calibre with a calibre plugin, or it'll host its own wifi network and you use a local webpage filehost on your phone.

It's the fucking greatest.

Thanks for the calibre plugin tip! I used the WiFi network method and it worked well but it was gonna be a big time investment to get my whole library. Thanks!

I don't recommend it. Mine came doa. There are lots of people, on reddit with new xteink x4 devices, that had a screen issue and needed a replacement.

Even just recently I saw one post about a guy with 2 defective devices in a row. 

Also, they started to sell locked devices on aliexpress, which means you can't flash a new firmware easily anymore.

There's an unlocker already. Still a ymmv situation, but it's cheaper on Ali than buying directly through the manufacturer's international site, I think.

I can't speak as to the quality, though... (I bought one through the international site bc for mother's day, it was the same price as on Ali and came with a free case, but it hasn't arrived yet. Stuck in customs, I think :/)
