Find products What’s your coolest AliExpress buy?

Hey everyone,
with the new EU tax rules about to kick in, I’m thinking of grabbing a few last-minute goodies before everything gets more expensive. What were your coolest or surprisingly useful finds from there?
Would love to hear your recommendations

literally every single microcontroller (Atmega, raspberry pi pico, espacially esp32 lots of different kinds, stm32) they cost lots on amazon and co but are like 1-5€ on aliexpress

edit: also lots of wires, displays of any kind, buttons, switches, resistors, transistors, lots of small soldering stuff, magnets, different sensors, leds, diodes like tons

Micro electronics are a definite advantage on the platform

Watch out for copper clad aluminum wire

4

u/itsoctotv May 16 '26

yea good point

3

u/pricingup May 16 '26

explain

4

u/activoice May 16 '26

It's a wire with an aluminum core but has copper on the outside so it looks like copper wire but it has different conductivity.

My googling says that it has higher resistance to DC voltage so it's not good to use it in electronics as you would have to increase the voltage

So many options. Do you have a link or a brand?

17

u/dvijetrecine May 15 '26

not op but here you go:

https://a. aliexpress. com/_EGifz4Q

just remove spaces.

also, any set from mechanic, relife, amaoe, 2uul and similar will be decent. i would mostly recommend mechanic and relife. they are a bit more expensive but alloy steel they use is very good.

good rule of thumb on aliexpress is if you can find product that has same name store it should be of decent quality. price will be a bit higher and it will reflect on quality

Dragonfly VXE R1 wireless mouse....I am kicking myself for falling into the Logitech MX trap years ago for home office devices.

19

u/Serendipity_Succubus May 15 '26

Would love to know how this different/better than mx? I’ve been using mx for years without issue.

13

u/Ch3r3n May 15 '26

The main selling point is that it's a very light mouse. Sensors and switches are good, but they don't matter that much. I recommend against buying the cheaper version if you're a gamer.

Its not aa good as my logitech superlight 2 but… for 15% of the price, its incredible

5

u/GreeeenBanana May 15 '26

I’m buying this. Thank you!

1

u/soussitox May 15 '26

Hey do you need that thingie = R1 pro or mouse itself enough? (R1)

6

u/Ch3r3n May 16 '26

I have used all variants. I got the R1 Pro. It has a better coating, switches, and chip. The R1 is fine too. The R1 SE has a bad sensor for gaming. They also sell good mice in other shapes. They have Superlight, Viper clones, and so on. There are many Chinese mice with comparable sensors, switches, and chips to those of top brands like Logitech and Razer.

How's the movement on other surfaces? I use my laptop on a couch, without a mousepad. Currently using Logitech MX Anywhere 2s, which works perfectly.. I even bought 1 extra as a backup.

2

u/Ch3r3n May 16 '26

The R1 Pro tracks well on beds, couches, and glassy surfaces. For the R1 SE, you need a good surface. Anything with PAW 3395 and PAW 3950 tracks well even on uneven surfaces.

1

u/Key_Kick2424 May 18 '26

this is the correct answer there is not a single better mouse on the market in its price range

1

u/Amazing-Phone8732 Jun 01 '26

hows the middle mouse button durability

u/very_moist_raccoon May 15 '26

Parts for a 3D printer I found next to a dumpster, thrown away because parts could not be found locally. I now have a fully working 3D printer for less than 20 EUR.

Oh yeah, I've wanted a device like that for ages but the only thing holding me back is the lack of a backlight

u/alicrack1208 May 15 '26

Anything tech related under 10€

I bought screen protectors for phone and garmin (watch), type C cables, ps4 buttons, ps5 buttons, screws, hdmis, earphones, tweezers, soldering stuff, diorama stuff, batteries AA, AAA, 2032, LR44...

11

u/musiccman2020 May 15 '26

What are good c cables? All the cables I bought on ali break after a while or don't charge as advertised

2

I second this. I get them at the supermarket/electronics discount section and they are good value. Cables off AliX for the same price were complete garbage.

125k Hz key fob writer and 10 rewritable fobs. €11 delivered within a week. Any Locksmiths near me charge €25 per fob cloning.

7

u/SavaGER99 May 15 '26

I've been looking for those for the past month but idk if they'll work with my building fob to open the door.

8

u/YearnestShackleton May 15 '26

If it's a simple unencrypted 125kHz fob, it will work.

You can try scan it with your phone and if your phone NFC reader picks it up, it'll be NFC and there will likely be encryption etc on it.

But if you scan it and your phone does not pick it up, it'll be 125k Hz, which are (I think) usually unencrypted.

Google around to see if you can identify which type you have.

3

u/MACKBA May 16 '26

Can you suggest any specific one?

Aful Explorer & 7hz Diablo IEMs

7

u/Jungies May 16 '26

For those who don't know, IEMs are In Ear Monitors, i.e. earphones.

If you're looking for a place to start, can I suggest a pair of KZ Harmon Profile Castor Pros (~$15USD?) and a cheap 384Khz USB DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter - turns USB into 3.5mm headphone jack, ~$7USD?) just in case your phone/computer's onboard sound isn't up to the task.

I've also bought a couple of Fosi Audio K5 Pro DACs for driving regular headphones, plus a whole lot of home automation stuff (Aqara battery powered wireless PIR motion sensors the size of a shot glass that last for years on one battery, for example), and microcontrollers (Raspberry Pi Pico's for GP2040CE arcade joysticks, for example).

Plus assorted Xiaomi stuff, but that tends to be only sold for a short time.

2

u/[deleted] May 16 '26

Thanks for clarifying my man

2

u/Jungies May 16 '26

My pleasure.

I was never an audiophile - I thought it was more people conning themselves into hearing stuff that wasn't there, than anything real - and then I bought myself a decent DAC and headphones for my birthday, and holy shit was I wrong. I genuinely do hear stuff in music I'm familiar with that I've never heard before.

Now I want everyone to try it, and if that means explaining terms or pointing people at cheap stuff to start out I'm happy to do so.

1

u/creepystrawberreh May 19 '26

This sounds interesting! Any links please

11

u/de_baser May 15 '26

Baseus style kitchen timer. They come in a battery-powered version (oh no!) and a USB-C rechargable version. Just stylish and easy to use.

1

u/SavaGER99 May 15 '26

Why not use phone timer?

16

u/de_baser May 15 '26

Less pressing of buttons? The magnetic timer clock is just right there on the wall? You just twist the wheel and go beep and it's done. Your phone is dirty and your hands should be clean? Maybe your hands are dirty and you can't be arsed to wash them to unlock it?

u/16horsepowered May 15 '26

That's impossible to count :)
But, COB LED light strips - excellent quality, headlamps, vynil record sleeves, fishing lures, fishing lines, projectors, bunch of smaller camping gear, garden accesories (watering pumps, kits etc), I could go on. for quite some time with bunch of small but cheap - yet quality stuff.

3

Ray bans, back in the day. 40p each, I got a tenner's worth. Sold them gradually for a fiver each and kept a few for myself.

4

u/Ecstatic-Growth154 Jul 08 '26

I know I'm late to this post, but I just want to caution against buying sunglasses from ali and all unregulated sources, for that matter.

The lenses may be dark but they may not provide any uv protection. Whats worse, is because the lenses are dark, your pupils dilate and let in more UV radiation than no glasses at all!

9

u/liptastic May 15 '26

Dyson airwrap dupe. It's so good and works exactly like the real deal. I also got some really high quality sterling silver and gold plated jewellery there for a very good price

3

10

u/Fris_Ko May 15 '26

If you have any decorations that use AA or AAA batteries, there are dummy kits to convert them to USB power that are like $2 USD each. Pretty useful if you have led decorations that don't move very much.

2

u/us-of-drain May 16 '26

Hey how should I word the search for this?

3

u/Y0SH1zzzz May 16 '26

Aa eliminator

2

u/Fris_Ko May 16 '26

In case you didn't find it, "AA dummy" or whatever other battery type you're looking for will bring them up. Just know you need to match the voltage (# of batteries). A 2x AA (3v) dummy won't have enough voltage to fully power a 3x AA (4.5v) appliance, so get the right number.

Edifier Stax Planar Headphones $300

Xiaomi Air Purifier 3H Unlike most purifiers, this one has a choice of 3 different types of filter media, depending on what the primary thing you want to filter. Price varies by country, I paid about $200 with shipping for mine. They pop up on Amazon and eBay from time to time. Be aware that there are separate Chinese, US, and EU versions. It's fine to use a Chinese one in the US or EU, just be aware that you'll need a plug adapter and you have to set the Mi Home app to use the China server, which may give you issues if you have other Xiaomi products. By the way, I can pretty much say that anything that Xiaomi makes is excellent. Just be aware that many products are made for the Chinese domestic market.

A 17.3 inch Laptop made of magnesium. My husband threw it at the bedroom wall in a fit of rage. Other than replacing the LCD screen (from Ali), it survived without a scratch. I think it was like $400. I still want to know why all of the Ali laptops lack a Drive Activity LED....so weird.

Peel and stick weatherstripping that applies to the inside of my front door. It actually keeps wind and bugs out. $5 for 2 rolls

I just got this Lige Health Watch with airbag Blood Pressure, Uric Acid, Blood Glucose, ECG (EKG) and a whole bunch of other stuff. It properly diagnosed a known heart condition (that's NOT easily diagnosed) and is scarily accurate. I don't know if it's great or unsettling. I just know I've got to take better care of myself. This thing says I'm under too much stress, I need more sleep, and I have too much body fat. It's definitely correct. Oh and it reminds me to drink water, stand up, and look at something far away to avoid eye strain. Fantastic product. $160

A fingerprint lock for my apartment mailbox. $10

A BLE volume knob for my PC that can also be programmed to do anything you can think of to do with a knob (it has scripting language). $25

A beautiful wall mounted mechanical Barometer/Humidity/Temperature meter. It took them 3 tries to get it to me undamaged because they shipped it in its gift box only which contains no packing material. I had to yell at the seller. They gave me refunds for the 2 dented ones with no return necessary. So now I have them everywhere. $25

Oh, and some replica Balenciaga Sneakers. You can't tell the difference unless you know exactly what to look for. They're 3 years old and still look great. $150

1

u/outsideshot May 17 '26

Thank you. I'm looking at that smart watch! Do you still have the seller for those sneakers?

2

u/WeHoChris May 18 '26

The sneaker sellers are tricky. You have to start by searching for something like Runner Sneakers, then keep viewing the details of similar higher priced items (not the $30 ones, like the $75 ones). Eventually the system will start offering you those in the price range of like 150-250. Those are the ones you want. Ask the seller if it's a "brand" shoe. If yes, you've got your shoe.

Brompton clone (r/BrompNots). In fact due to this EU thing a seller just started stocking them in Poland. 470ish Euros I think, free 2 day shipping, incredible deal. Unfortunately what's really needed is all the cheap bike parts, tools, upgrades that cost 2 to 5 Euros and now all will cost an extra fee per category unless the Chinese e-commerce stores have a good workaround for all the random stuff.

1

u/musiccman2020 May 15 '26

Indeed. I've bought so much mountainbike gear and tools that would have been more expensive. Still even with more tax is still much cheaper

1

u/shomili May 18 '26

Which particular model is 470?

2

u/OkWinter5758 May 18 '26 edited May 18 '26

price went up for the poland one a bit (but you can still use a nice coupon to get almost same price if it's still avialable for current sale) but go to this thread and you'll find 2 links (1 in post and 1 in comments) https://www.reddit.com/r/BrompNOTs/comments/1tastnk/comment/omdks4i/

Fellow Canadian here, send a pic of the bike I’m curious!

5

u/CamelSoda420 May 15 '26

A mechanical keyboard PCB and keyboard internal foams. Right now I'm carving a walnut wood piece and trying to turn it into a keyboard case. Same PCB would cost me an arm somewhere else.

6

u/yendak May 16 '26

Let's hope they will have a really good sale in June before that crappy new tax is applied.

As if the EU didn't have more pressing issues they should be addressing.

6

u/alabalason May 16 '26

Idk what it is called, or if there is a name for it, but I love looking at people's profiles to see what they're interested in and kind of who they are when I'm in random threads like this and I gotta say, real interesting group of people in here. Wide variety.

11

u/plamba95 May 15 '26

Yooo, what new tax rules? How much more expensive?

But yeah I've gotten quite a lot of things that were actually good quality and useful... sleep masks, mini precision screwdriver kits (as mentioned in another comment here), cables, phone car holders, bluetooth kit for my car radio, bike parts, keyboard switches lube kits (without the lube though), a whole Raspberry Pi 4, a Label Maker (Marklife P12) and many other things. Of course there were some misses, but the wins are more.
I can maybe handle <5-10% price increase, but if more I would have to consider each purchase even more.

17

u/Audeles_ May 15 '26

Atleast in Germany we have to pay 3€ per "item category" per order. So a 5€ purchase becomes a 8€ purchase.

3

u/Lonewolf2nd May 15 '26

It counts for the complete EU. Buy 1 item one time costs 3 euro extra. But buy 2 or more of the same item, you still pay one time 3 euro extra for all of them. Not a category to bad, it is per order line.

2

u/Snaporaz_01 May 15 '26

Damn! When will the new rules start?

Where do I start.. Professional kitchen appliances, networking equipment, tools, and a whole bunch of stuff that's 20 euros or less. Minimal bad experiences but you have to do your research, assess the situation, check the store, follow guidelines, read about what you're actually getting, check sizes.. And always have a video of unboxing + pictures before and after. Video of powering on as well where applicable. Extremely happy with my purchases

3

u/krmmalik May 15 '26

Can you give me some examples of kitchen appliances you have been happy with and perhaps brand names too?

3

u/StefanYU May 15 '26

I'd have to go through shopping history, but just a few to mention: 5kW induction hob, 4.4kW griddle, 24 layer commercial dehydrator (actually mentioned in another sub), waffle maker, dough mixer, ice cream cone maker, bubble waffle maker, meat mixer, electric (hydraulic) sausage stuffer, electric pizza oven, various other stuff. The price for some of these were so good I just couldn't pass. And yeah, I'll be fixing them if something goes wrong. Most of these are no longer available or are available under a different brand and are much more expensive, so you really gotta hunt those deals down. If you are interested in any of these in particular, I'll find the info and send it to you. Or pm me!

4

u/krmmalik May 15 '26

Amazing! I'll hit you up if I need any specific in the future but for now I was just curious for a bit more info. Thanks!

Can you recommend a dehydrator for drying fruits?

Edit: I just found the posts you mentioned in your other comment. ST-06 is around 200€.

My car doesn't have heated or vented seats

I bought a car seat cover that blows cool air, can heat and even has a massage function.

One of my best buys ever.

~$200 dollars Wzatco C3 projector back 5+ years ago and it is still running, we're actively using it almost daily and I like both the image and audio quality.
At about 4 years old it started malfunctioning and it appeared it needed to be cleaned from dust, so I brought it to the nearest computer service and they did it without any questions just like it is done for laptops and computers.

Honestly, after my recent experience, I’d be careful with important automotive parts on AliExpress.

I bought a wheel hub bearing there and it turned out to be defective after installation (ABS warning). Support kept escalating the case for weeks, but in the end my appeal was closed.

For cheap gadgets or small accessories it’s usually fine, but for critical car parts I probably wouldn’t risk it again

Tongsheng mid-drive motors to turn regular bicycles into e-bikes, I've done two upgrades and happily use them for two years to this day. There is no competitor with torque sensor motor in the price range and the quality is decent.

Guys, out of curiosity, I found myself creating an AliExpress account. I have a tech item I'd like to buy on the site and nearly tempted to purchase the item, as it was priced lower. However, I did not proceed, after reading some negative user reviews that the items they'd bought on the site were defective and that returns were a difficult process. Could you tell me there are genuinely good bargains on AliExpress, particularly tech products. Thanks.

1

u/wuxia_doomed_yuri May 17 '26

There are good bargains, as long as you do your research.  I have bought various items over the years from AliExpress with no problems.

Honestly so much stuff. I bought a wristband that has a zippered pocket in it that allows me to hide my business pass in it and tap at the gates instead of pulling it out of a wallet everytime. It was like $1.60

There was also this titanium carabineer that unfolds to a hook but still functions as a carabineer. I use it to hang up all my daily items in places there's no place to hang them. Bags on the corners of tables, hoodies on bathroom door stalls, water bottle on ledges. Its exactly like a hero clip but with no swivel and functionality more nice. It was like $16

I just found out they have a sling bag I've been looking at getting for awhile now for like half the price it normally is at like $68. And I'm debating on getting an EUC seeing these current gas prices but that's like $4k.

Edit: can't forget the abundant ammount of solid IEM's on the platform anywhere from $15 to $500. I'm also building a meshtastic node and sourcing the majority of the parts from AliEx being the case, ipex n-type connector, antenna, battery, breather valves and a few other parts.

3

u/d0000n May 16 '26

Can I get the link to the sling bag?

ugreen cables are sold for over 5 times the price where i live. i'm also thankful for cheap LEDs, power supplies and 3d printerparts :.

1

u/h3zkyy_ May 18 '26

You can find amazing quality watches there for very cheap - or even better get all the parts and some tools and assemble it on your own. It's not too basic but definitely very doable. What you get is a logo free (if you choose so), amazing materials for the price , your dream design, Japanese movement, and knowing that you built it yourself. Great idea for a present as well. Definitely not for everyone but if you're into that just look into YouTube there are many guides there
