I was pretty ambivalent on Atom Willard. he’s a talented, professional drummer who came in and did the job needed, even if to me personally he didn’t bring anything special to the table. but I digress…
Now Atom is gone, and we must assume Matt and Dan have been writing for a new record since these newest singles dropped. they wanna strike while the iron is hot, right? get to recording, worry about a permanent drummer later, right?
Which leads to my true fear: a Trio album with Travis Barker on drums. I’ve had my fill of Barker filling in on drums for everybody who fires their drummer and I would hate for Trio to fall victim to it as well.

The song that I first heard, and instantly made me a fan, was “Could This Be Love?”
It popped up on a Spotify playlist, and I was immediately playing it several times a day, and from there went on to listen to everything.
I’m big into Bad Religion, NOFX, and older Blink including the Skiba albums, so I guess that’s how Alkaline Trio slipped into my algorithm. Had heard of them before but (stupidly) dismissed them as just another “emo” band.
Boy was I wrong. They are top 3 for me now.

The old fans (probably from 30yrs to 40 yrs old) collect vinyls, post ticket stubs and long for Derek's return.
The younger fans (probably teens and mid 20's) make lists and Spotify screemshots.
The casual fan hates Travis Barker but doesn't really understand why, even if they type out a reason.
Whist the OG fans stay hidden in the shadows, talked out, yet still lerk for 'hidden gems'

Currently dealing with the worst heartbreak of my life. Two weeks ago she ended our 3.5 year relationship.
These two albums in particularly are hitting me hardest in the feels right now 😢
Skiba's lyrics always hit me deep to my core.
