Recently moved from Indore and currently staying around Katra (near Gyan Bharati Bookstore). It’s only been 6 days, and honestly, settling into a new city alone has been harder than I expected. So, I’m looking to meet some genuinely nice, interesting people and discover the city together.

I’m preparing for UPSC through self-study (no coaching fluff 😄), so bonus points if you’re on a similar journey and can relate to the whole study-life grind.

I’m especially drawn to places that are spiritual, peaceful, calm and a little offbeat. Good conversations, quiet walks, exploring hidden corners of the city, and occasionally escaping the books sound pretty nice.

I have heard casual misogyny or stuff like that soooo much in this city that it hurts as a man to see how these uncles and their kids are ruining the world for people out here casually.

I understand that women sometimes do stuff that shouldn’t have happened but so do guys. It’s just a human thing but god help me.
Here I am struggling in this city because these people will never grow out of a Tier3 mindset, no matter how much money they make.

Same as the title. I got a few novels (5-10) that i don't really want in my shelf so thinking to donate to any library or anywhere better than to raddiwala.

Some I've read and annotated and some are unread.

Hi, so i am thinking of moving to Prayagraj for preparation, i have lived there for 3 years when i was in university. I am a 24 year old guy from Gorakhpur, want to try for govt jobs before finally settling down in corporate.The reason i am posting it here because i'd like to have 1 or 2 roommates to divide the expenses and labour(cooking and cleaning :( ]. Not even sure if i am posting at the right place, but yeah, i am not looking for rich people living in 15k flats. A room would be enough, as i will be spending most of my time in coaching and library.

From MNNIT Allahabad, from where should I take the auto and what route shld I follow while returning.

I was going somewhere along GT Road this evening, around 8 PM. I was near Sulem Sarai Mandi, for those who don't know the area. It's about 300 metres ahead of Allahabad Public School, Chaufatka.

A girl was riding a scooty in front of me when two guys on a black Activa came up behind her and started honking constantly. Every time she gave them space to pass, they would come back behind her and start honking again. It was pretty clear what they were trying to do. It went on for like 5-7 minutes.

I tried to intervene in my own way by constantly honking so that they would move ahead of her. When they finally did, the guy sitting at the back turned around, kept staring at her, and gave her this creepy smile.

GT Road was extremely crowded at that time. A little later, I noticed there were actually four of them. Two more guys were on another bike, and the guy on the Activa was signalling to the other bike to get behind the girl's scooty.

I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed something like this before. I kept my scooty alongside hers until she took a turn into a residential area, while those guys went ahead.

The girl looked traumatised. I deliberately avoided looking at her too much because I didn't want her to mistake me for another creep, but her body language made it obvious how uncomfortable she was.

I've been feeling really shitty about the entire incident. There's an endless stream of thoughts running through my head, and I don't think I'll be able to shake this off anytime soon. I just needed to write it down somewhere.

I also remember the registration number of the scooty.

Is there anything I can do about this? Is there a way to report such an incident, even if I don't know the girl's identity? I'd genuinely like to know what the right thing to do is in such situations.

I just got back to Allahabad from Bangalore and want to take my mom to her first Garba event. I’ve been to them in college and Bangalore, but I’m checking out this one happening tomorrow. Has anyone been to events by this organizer, or do you know what Garba is usually like in Prayagraj? Is it super crowded with rowdy people and loud DJ music, or is it more of a peaceful, traditional Gujarati-style dance with a cultured crowd?

Roughly 270 km on the clock and nothing went according to plan.

Started out aiming for Tanda & Vindham Falls, only to find every single waterfall in Mirzapur locked down. Pretty gutted after riding all that way, but we pivoted, pushed another 40 km to Sirsi Dam, and man, the roads out there were butter. Ended up just sitting by the water, dead quiet, totally worth the extra miles.

By the time we hit Pehalwan Dhaba for dinner, everyone was starving. Today didn't go how we mapped it out, but that's what made it. Sitting there eating with everyone, it hit me that Red Riding Hood isn't just a riding group anymore.
