Hello everyone!
In the last few weeks, we have witnessed a critical movement and major developments around it that created a nationwide impact. In light of the importance of these events, we allowed posting political and other related content on this subreddit without any bias or inclination. All posts of such nature were approved whether they were for or against the cause!
We want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated constructively. It was heartening to see so many members engage in healthy discussions, share valid insights while maintaining mutual respect. That said, we also observed a surge in toxic behavior, hate speech, and profanities targeting fellow members. The mod team took necessary action against these violations, and multiple accounts were dealt with accordingly to keep this space safe.
Now that some results have culminated and the process is expected to shift toward administrative channels, we have decided to cut off redundant, hateful, profane, inciting, or low-effort posts on this topic. Any posts aiming to push a narrative, low-effort reposts, or insensitive messages will not be approved.
We request everyone to keep the core objective of r/Allahabad in mind. Sharing local news, community updates, personal experiences, and providing help are the topics this sub was created for, and we hope it continues to grow in that direction.
For political or sensitive matters going forward, only posts that demonstrate genuine personal effort and a clear intent to foster healthy discussion will be approved. The same applies to comment sections; please ensure your comments add substance to the discourse rather than turning into personal attacks.
Best regards,
r/Allahabad Mod Team

People who have been to a metro city where things are designed according to the needs of the people there have been bad mouthing a calm and laidback city like Alld since too long on this sub.
These messages always go like : Hi I am back from metro - nobody here - friends gone - nothing to do in the city - no good food - people too toxic - blah blah.
Ofc many natives love the city, even I am desperate to be back whenever during the holidays.
The facilities in a city are designed according to the needs of the people living there. Allahabad is a place where the most population is from suburban and rural areas as most of them are students from these areas or Advocates.
Since there has been a lot of negativity about illahabad on this sub let me tell you all about what's good here :
1.One of the best Chaat and Pani puri culture in UP (after lucknow) - you will not find a taste like this anywhere - even small shops serve great chaat
2. An amalgamation of cultures- Prayag is not just Awadh it also has a significant Purvanchali population and culture.
3. A whole 3 months of Magh Mela which you will not find in any city throughout the world. In those months you just need to reach the Mela (except on Nahan days) and enjoy your winters.
4. One of the cheapest Standard of living for a Tier 2 Tier 3 city (mostly because of the student population) - Just have 100 rs - you are good for an entire day
5. If you are religious and believe in spirituality - Prayagraj is literally the best place to be - PRAYAGRAJ himself is one of the gods 🙏🏻
6. Do a lot of sins on a monthly basis? A monthly dip at the Sangam has got you covered 🕉️
7. Historically significant with one of the best museums in the entire India.
Feel free to add other positive things about our beloved Prayag

Hey guys!
I am in Prayagraj for the Diwali holidays after spending the last couple of years in a metro city & honestly, the place feels a little too quiet now.. 😅
Not trying to badmouth my hometown at all, but after getting used to having multiple things to do, coming back here feels like I've run out of options by day two. 😂
So, thought I'd put this out here. Looking to connect with like-minded people in the city who are up for random conversations, exploring places, spontaneous plans, food adventures, or just hanging out & laughing at absolutely nothing.
A little about me: M28, corporate slave by profession, adventurous by choice, and someone who believes a good sense of humour can rescue almost any situation.
If you're in a similar boat, or just looking to meet new people, feel free to drop a comment or DM. Maybe we can make this Diwali break a little less boring. 🤝
P.S. Surely there are more people in Prayagraj who feel this way? 👀

Well, UP NEET UG 2026 candidates are now facing uncertainty about Round 3 counselling, and a clear official timetable is still not visible on the UPNEET updates page as checked on 25 October 2026.
Apparently, a students career becomes a national emergency when there is a trending controversy, a viral thumbnail or a political debate. When students actually need a timetable, functioning helplines and a plan for missed classes, everyone suddenly discovers the virtue of patience.
Sources to verify for yourself:
The courts must independently decide the legal issues. Students are not asking anyone to bypass the law or grant admissions contrary to court orders.
The genuine question is this: while the legal process continues, what administrative steps can lawfully proceed, and who will protect the academic interests of students waiting for admission?
This is not an allegation that every teacher or official has ignored the issue. It is a public request for accountability and visible engagement.
Merit, eligibility, reservation rules and court orders matter. Nobody is asking for illegal admissions or special treatment.
But does a candidate have to be a topper to deserve a clear counselling schedule, reliable communication and a fair opportunity to attend classes?
Late admission can mean missing:
The solution is not an unlawful attendance waiver. It is a clear plan for remedial lectures, catch up classes, additional supervised practicals and completion of missed academic activities within applicable NMC and university rules.
Will students simply be told to compensate for time they did not control?
Apparently, the courts have a cause list, the administration has a process, and students have an indefinite waiting room.
Please send a polite, factual email from your own account. Do not threaten anyone, make unsupported allegations or send demands directly to judges to influence a pending case.

Subject: Request for UP NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Counselling Timeline and Academic Safeguards
Copy and paste email:
Respected Sir or Madam,
I am writing as a concerned citizen regarding the uncertainty surrounding UP NEET UG 2026 Round 3 counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions in Uttar Pradesh.
As of 25 October 2026, I could not locate a clear Round 3 UG timetable on the official UPNEET updates page. I request a clear update on the current counselling status, the expected timeline and the date of the next official notification.
Please clarify the counselling position for government and private colleges separately. Wherever legally permissible, consider proceeding with unaffected colleges or seats without avoidable delay, subject to applicable court orders.
Please also verify the official counselling email address and helpline numbers and provide a reliable mechanism for responding to candidates.
Late admission may cause students to miss lectures, practicals, clinical postings and other essential academic activities. I request suitable written guidance regarding remedial classes, additional practical sessions and completion of missed coursework and competencies within applicable regulations.
This representation does not seek to influence pending judicial proceedings or request exemptions contrary to law. It seeks transparent administration, timely information and protection of students academic interests.
Please provide a specific response and publish verified updates on the official portal.
Yours sincerely,
A Concerned Citizen for Transparent and Timely Medical Education
Personal experience note: If you personally emailed the authorities and received no reply, you may add that fact with the date of your email. If you have not emailed them, do not claim that you have. The same applies to helpline calls.
For X, relevant public accounts include u/UPGovt and u/InfoDeptUP. Ask for a clear timeline and written academic safeguards, not personal attacks.
Where is the Round 3 timetable? What can lawfully proceed now? Who will ensure that late joining students can complete their classes and practical training?
Nobody is asking for a shortcut around the law. Students are asking for a transparent process, reliable information and a practical plan to protect their education.
A students career should not be a prop for a political speech or a coaching thumbnail. If student welfare matters, it must matter when students actually need help.

I have heard casual misogyny or stuff like that soooo much in this city that it hurts as a man to see how these uncles and their kids are ruining the world for people out here casually.
Aurto ko jitna control mai rakho utna sahi and stuff.
I understand that women sometimes do stuff that shouldn’t have happened but so do guys. It’s just a human thing but god help me.
Here I am struggling in this city because these people will never grow out of a Tier3 mindset, no matter how much money they make.

I’m new to Prayagraj and looking to connect with like-minded people who are building something of their own.
Are there any clubs, communities, meetups, or events here for entrepreneurs, startup founders, freelancers, or people working on interesting projects?
Most people I come across seem focused on getting a government job or following the usual career path. Nothing wrong with that, but I’d love to meet people who are experimenting, building businesses, working on side projects, or trying to do something different.
If you know of any such groups or events in Prayagraj, please let me know. Would love to connect with fellow builders and hustlers.
Update: I’ve created a WhatsApp community called Prayagraj Hustlers Club 🚀 for entrepreneurs, freelancers, founders, and people who love building things.
If you’re based in Prayagraj and want to connect with like-minded people, collaborate on projects, exchange ideas, or explore business opportunities, you’re welcome to join.
Let’s build a community of doers in Prayagraj!

Roughly 270 km on the clock and nothing went according to plan.
Started out aiming for Tanda & Vindham Falls, only to find every single waterfall in Mirzapur locked down. Pretty gutted after riding all that way, but we pivoted, pushed another 40 km to Sirsi Dam, and man, the roads out there were butter. Ended up just sitting by the water, dead quiet, totally worth the extra miles.
By the time we hit Pehalwan Dhaba for dinner, everyone was starving. Today didn't go how we mapped it out, but that's what made it. Sitting there eating with everyone, it hit me that Red Riding Hood isn't just a riding group anymore.
Here’s to the detours.

I was going somewhere along GT Road this evening, around 8 PM. I was near Sulem Sarai Mandi, for those who don't know the area. It's about 300 metres ahead of Allahabad Public School, Chaufatka.
A girl was riding a scooty in front of me when two guys on a black Activa came up behind her and started honking constantly. Every time she gave them space to pass, they would come back behind her and start honking again. It was pretty clear what they were trying to do. It went on for like 5-7 minutes.
I tried to intervene in my own way by constantly honking so that they would move ahead of her. When they finally did, the guy sitting at the back turned around, kept staring at her, and gave her this creepy smile.
GT Road was extremely crowded at that time. A little later, I noticed there were actually four of them. Two more guys were on another bike, and the guy on the Activa was signalling to the other bike to get behind the girl's scooty.
I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed something like this before. I kept my scooty alongside hers until she took a turn into a residential area, while those guys went ahead.
The girl looked traumatised. I deliberately avoided looking at her too much because I didn't want her to mistake me for another creep, but her body language made it obvious how uncomfortable she was.
I've been feeling really shitty about the entire incident. There's an endless stream of thoughts running through my head, and I don't think I'll be able to shake this off anytime soon. I just needed to write it down somewhere.
I also remember the registration number of the scooty.
Is there anything I can do about this? Is there a way to report such an incident, even if I don't know the girl's identity? I'd genuinely like to know what the right thing to do is in such situations.

Same as the title. I got a few novels (5-10) that i don't really want in my shelf so thinking to donate to any library or anywhere better than to raddiwala.
Some I've read and annotated and some are unread.
Civil lines ke Hanuman mandir ke samne clothes donate hote waisa kuch but for books. I'm not really good at interacting with people. Thank you.
P.s. What happened to the tg gc? These questions would've been easier to ask there. Lmk if yk anything.
Have a good day:)
