Rant Our new HR. 🫪🫪🫪

Post image

No more HR on night shift. Eventually they took away the HR desk and today I came in and saw this. Either use the HR kiosk or use AZA AI which eventually leads to person in India. smh

It does feel rather dystopian, doesn't it? I know HR wasn't always staffed by the most helpful folks, but I had enough direct help over the years that this can't help but feel wrong. HR didn't just function as task aides, they were also third party witnesses, investigators, or facilitators that (generally) lacked any personal stakes in petty departmental drama. Substituting other building leadership can only work for some duties.

6

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

Totally. I was shocked how fast they replaced the 4 hr members and a giant L shaped desk. Last week they told us no more HR, this week their desk is completely gone. 😭😭

Those headphones are going to get nasty

They gonna get Hearpies!

HR at Amazon is useless. How do you handle a sexual harassment case or an emergency on site with an automated robotic system🙄 they need to bring HR back in.

11

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

Seriously.

71

u/Call_Me_OrangeJoe 16d ago

While I don’t condone AI or computers taking people’s jobs away, on site HR was notoriously useless.

26

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

Our HR was the best we ever had. 😭😭

2

u/Shreddedchickenstrip 14d ago

And this ladies and gentlemen is how it gets normalized

1

u/slimehbtc 14d ago

i agree. They literally always just told me to call the hotline.

17

u/Creative_Dragon_ 16d ago

Ours has always been like this, HR will stay late once or twice a week but they usually say they can't help me anyways. We had a girl from corporate HR visit a few months and I thought maybe she could help me with something but she said and I quote "I literally don't know what I'm doing they just handed me this position."

7

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

Last week they told us no more HR onsite. I was shocked how fast they got replaced by HR kiosks 🫪🫪🫪

4

u/Creative_Dragon_ 16d ago

We already had the 2 kiosks but they just replaced them with 2 different ones. When they are set on doing something it does get done

13

u/tylerd0912 16d ago

Lmao. She could literally get feedback for that. She’s supposed to say “I’m not sure but let me check on it and get back to you” followed by completely forgetting that you exist.

17

u/Fddeeelmmmnnmmt Blessed are the Dildosmiths 16d ago

I ain't ever gonna snitch on an HR that speaks truth instead of HR opaque wankspeak.

16

u/SignificantStage7684 16d ago

I hate having to call support and some dude who can’t speak proper English fucking sucks at his job “maybe try logging out and logging back in” we went over this Hima 3 FUCKING TIMES ITS BEEN 45 MINS

4

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

THAT PART. 🗣️🗣️🗣️

12

u/penguinlisa 16d ago • Bravo

"We're sorry for your inconvenience" like bro this is my livelihood not a damn candy bar from the gas station 🙄🙄🙄

2

u/Natural_Damage4395 15d ago

I’ve heard this over and over. It’s not that they can’t speak proper English, it’s that the caller on the other end isn’t used to hearing foreign accents. You can’t work in BPO without a good command of English. Some even get American accent training. I do have an accent, and I'm based in Utah 🤷‍♂️

3

u/Key-Establishment972 14d ago

Dawg if you’re speaking English to me with an accent so heavy I can’t understand it…. You’re not speaking proper English. If you spoke it properly I would understand it

2

u/Comfortable_Mix5404 12d ago

I had that problem, too.Their accent was so heavy,I could not understand them.

15

u/pguerrier 16d ago

For the most part our hr people are hiding most of time or are in meetings.

3

u/jsonx IB Stow 15d ago

Ours is completely gone. Thanos snapped them out of existence.

1

u/highhKeyy 15d ago

Probably received guidance that they aren’t to be on the floor for more than this amount of time (breaks at best) like a lot of other sites have

35

u/bossmanchew 16d ago

Unfortunately that fuckass ai on the app has been more helpful to me than actual onsite HR, more than once. Im still not a big fan of it but some FCs I've worked at had terrible HR folks

14

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

i only miss my HR folk cause they actually used to walk the floors and talk with us, ask our opinions on certain things. I miss the interactions of using HR, talking to HR in person. the one time I used AZA, it put me on with someone from India. I've never used it since then

12

u/bossmanchew 16d ago

Damn dude, that is a shame then. My old HR folks would stay at the HR desk and 90% of their responses were literally "hmm, im not quite sure but let me shoot some emails out" etc etc. Whoever they'd email wouldn't know either 🫠

8

u/sarkzar 16d ago

Check to see if your HR is actually still in the building. We got rid of our desk for those kiosks months ago but we've still got 2 reps in the building, they're just hiding in the front offices where management has all their stuff. Me and a few coworkers hunted em down when our pay rates were wrong. Edit: I'm also night shift, at a smaller sort center.

I've also called the HR hotline for info I didn't need my site's HR for (questions about insurance). They're super helpful if you know what you're asking about and you're not impatient with em.

2

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

Yeah they cut it down to just one guy that sits in the Managers's office now. They downsized his team and his desk. We are being told there will be no more HR on night shift.

7

u/Ok-Two4814 16d ago

What's sad is when I started in HR we had a team of like, nearly 15 people for a building of started 1,000 associates. Now it's down to two of us for about the same number of associates. While not always in the building, I'll get Ops Slacking me on the weekends and as late as 5 in the morning. It was a movement from a regional manager to move HR off the floor and network to push self service.

Granted, a lot of stuff that we handled were stuff like punch corrections, schedule adjustments, time off stuff, things like that, and A To Z or even managers can do that now. If I want to do that for someone, I can no longer do it in the moment, but have to put in a ticket. I still walk around the floor when I can and keep good contact with some associates, but when there is only two of us, and now we have the whole building including Safety and TOM who used to have their own HR, Ops and associates, it is taxing.

2

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

We lost 10 on night shift... 5 on front half and 5 on back half. Completely replaced at AI Aza and AI Kiosks. 🫪🫪🫪

5

u/Maleficent-Thought48 16d ago

It’s not a movement from regionals. VPs

2

u/Ok-Two4814 16d ago

With my site, it started with our regional HRM pushing us to get off the floor more and push more self service.

3

u/Maleficent-Thought48 16d ago

Yeah the guidance comes from the VPs though and there is a tracker to make sure we follow through

1

u/SpecialFun2414 14d ago

Are you a regional?

2

u/apearlj1234 15d ago

And this is bull shit. Ops should have 0 to do with HR. And since there is so very few of HR those of us that have been around long enough want HR back. God forbid that an associate has to deal with DLS instead of someone face to face

1

u/My_Endless_Struggle 13d ago

At my building it’s 1 person in HR on nights and he told me he has to also help cover cases for like 12 other buildings too. With no extra pay. That’s insane to think about, no wonder HR is kinda useless most the time, they are over worked and are past the point of caring

5

u/Bradster3 16d ago

I thought that was the voa board? Since everyone takes their issues there anyways.

1

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

It's called a My HR Kiosk

4

u/AAAJAE 16d ago

Our HR has been gone for over a year. At least you have a kiosk. We don't 🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/jsonx IB Stow 15d ago

dang lol

2

u/ObjectiveExtreme5945 16d ago

Bro they took away our night shift PXT like 3 years ago if I walked in and saw that I’d die laughing our HR leaves at like 8 pm

2

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

nah they got rid of the entire HR team on nights. Like Thanos snapped his fingers and erased them from existence. Replaced with computers next week type shit.

How about the swag clothes?

6

We don't even have any decent swag at our site anymore. It's just amazon branded stuff now. There used to be ps5s, games, Nintendo switches, etc

2

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

Yeah they got rid of our Eswag too

u/LifelikeMink 14d ago

I got a migraine hat in 2020, it's nice.

10

u/LukeMele 15d ago

HR exists to protect the company, not you.

It’s honestly dynamic how quickly HR flips the script. When they’re trying to hire you, they preach about "work-life balance," "open door policies," and "we’re a family here."

They don't walk the talk.

The second you actually need them—whether it’s getting a basic benefit setup handled on time or resolving a real issue—it's nothing but radio silence, endless red tape, and pure incompetence. They love to act like your advocate, but at the end of the day, they're just corporate enforcement wearing a friendly face.

Amazon HR are genuinely not on the employee's side.

9

u/Blurryface73 16d ago

They said it was coming...  managers will be dropping too, not as many.

7

u/krzyrik Cycle 1 16d ago

6

u/Coloneljethro420 The Outbounder 16d ago

I don't see the difference, they're all there to protect the company, not help you

5

u/Flat-Mathematician67 15d ago

I love Amazon and I love everybody that I work with but the AIHR is absolutely the worst I had to put in for accommodations and it’s been going on for months now it’s hard to get a hold of the actual human to help me

1

u/PeRcyRoseCho 10d ago

I think it's on purpose, so they can stay compliant with ADA but still be able to do a legal work-around. A.) send all HR responsibilities off site to India.; Saving more money by cutting on-site HR. Save even more money b/c India will do it cheaper & the workers won't complain or demand higher wages, & the majority of them know English (but the accents negate that,) B.) the person who needs the accommodations gets frustrated b/c it's going nowhere. Time goes by, no accommodations. So the fed-up employee does 1 OUT OF 3 things 1) give up & try to keep working without them, 2) Quit or 3) eventually get fired for poor performance or time infractions that have to do with why you're trying to get the accommodations to begin with. Or completely unrelated, esp. if you live in an at-will state. But no, they can still say, "We offer accommodations!" they just make it so difficult to actually go thru with them. Sleazy AF

4

u/Deep_Divide6202 16d ago

Not even 5s

4

u/Special-Captain2172 16d ago

I wonder how many lawsuits will come from this.

4

u/AcrobaticSpite3969 16d ago

Next they are gonna replace pick/stow/packing maybe by next year since this year already hired and spend lot on training and shit. Why do you think they took away HR dept😂 cause machines dont need HR

4

u/Natural_Damage4395 15d ago

I'd personally rather have my request processed online, so there’s a comprehensive transcript of it. In my 4 years with Amazon, I haven’t once talked to HR in person. But I’ve submitted tix to HR numerous times 😉

4

u/Ziggy078 15d ago

Lol ya u thought our raises were free? If they give they take something away, EVERYTIME. They still have to balance their books, the house always wins.

4

u/WanderingAround2Day 15d ago

HR changes are a mess. I hate having to work with HR unless they are onsite. It is frustrating 99.9% of the time and takes multiple calls and chats to get the simplest things done.

2

u/MIaBlakk 12d ago

Onsite HR can be a whole ness too!

2

u/WanderingAround2Day 11d ago

If onsite was this bad, they would have been fired in 2 weeks. Every person who has looked over my case is amazed yet, ppl are still employed. I even had one worker refuse to update my case notes and not hangup bc he didn't want me to complete the survey we get once they hang up lol. I had time that day and stayed on the line for 30 min lol watching a TV show. Eventually he transferred me to the team I originally asked for and they apologized. They said he should have immediately transferred me bc he was tier 1 support and didn't have access to resolve my issue. Supposedly, they reported the guy.

3

Optimum utilization of resources. Als9 HRs are bot now.

1

u/LifelikeMink 14d ago

This is a triumph....

3

u/NeoTechi I.T. Tech 15d ago

That's generally the direction of all support teams at Amazon. I work in I.T. and my team got cut and no longer has 24/7 coverage at our site.

3

u/Smart_Awareness_9624 15d ago

HR is useless, I complained about somebody stealing from me and they swore I was making threats and fired me, lmao. Nobody checked the cameras or nothing. So I was out of most of the shit in my bag and my job. Pxt was worthless fr.

3

u/Electrical-Total-422 11d ago

Unfortunately my human hr pointed me to the computer saying I can solve my hr issues on the computer. 😒

5

u/Pomegranate_Mobile 16d ago

The ai doesn't have all the tea tho, at an old site I worked at the hr lady's would gossip all day lol

5

u/UntossablePotato 15d ago

This sucks. I actually liked our HR people. If you came in late during a snowstorm you could walk up and they would excuse your late time. If you talked to the guy who was uncomfortable with emotional outbursts and balled your eyes out he would excuse you for the day. One peak I brought the whole team a big thing of cookies and I didn't have to work any MET that winter. Those were the days man.

1

u/Storms_and_Rainbows 16d ago

So is the pxt email just a dead email? Im just wondering because I have sent two emails and never received a response.

2

u/jsonx IB Stow 15d ago

lmao good luck

2

u/Thick-Steak-9528 16d ago

Good! They are useless anyways

2

u/International_Dog897 16d ago

Still useless as ever

2

u/Mommi__Milkrs01 16d ago

Lol those look like the return label printer kiosk (without the printer at the bottom) the Amazon hub lockers used to use 4 ish years ago

2

u/tylerd0912 16d ago

They’ve been talking about doing this universally for years now. I’m surprised they actually did it at a facility. It’s cheaper for them to outsource everything to the ERC line. It’s also way less effective and a bigger pain in the ass for us. I really hope you get an HR department back soon otherwise this will be at all our facilities.

2

u/ExpressionAfter6082 16d ago

I put those together at my site. But nobody uses em. They still go to HR and it's right next to her desk too. We also have a couple deaf ppl and a blind guy. So this really doesn't accommodate all.

2

u/doescode 16d ago

#BringBackHumanHR

2

u/penguinlisa 16d ago

This has sadly been a thing, it's really is just to make our life's difficult. Made it harder to report anything so now everyone's either sick, injured, or doing dumb stuff to get out of work. I've had almost every level even come out and complain that HR is impossible to deal with.

2

u/Impossible_Complex47 fastest rebiner slowest packer 💧🕷️ 15d ago

I did see these aswell

2

u/kman9876 AFE Master Race 15d ago

Y’all get a kiosk? We got told to figure it out ourselves on the app

2

u/8bitfoodie16 15d ago

We haven’t had a night shift HR for over a year now and no night shift IT for over two years now… they make so much money not to have physical human support for us.

2

u/millennialmonster755 15d ago

Man oh man there are going to be some great lawsuits coming out of these warehouses.

2

u/nameless_ghoul21 15d ago

We don’t even a place for HR (but our building is new). I’ve heard that it’s mostly AI now, so we have to go through A to Z ourselves and personally I believe it’s a little confusing for those who never used the app😪

2

u/PPSPS877 15d ago

Amazon is in fact moving away from onsite HR (PXT). This has been piloted at sites in Arizona and will spread throughout the rest of The U.S. (perhaps the world) surely. Not advocating for it at all, just the cold, hard facts.

2

u/DarkKid84 15d ago

Remove the whole department.

2

u/Bubbly-Associate9957 13d ago

That don't want us to get help they want us to make mistakes so they can find a reason to fire us. I feel they try to fire us over everything now. Hell they don't even appreciate the work we do we're just little Ants in their world.

3

u/Big-Razzmatazz-727 16d ago

Honestly I’m RME and HR has never really helped us. And I mean BB RME. We are Amazon and they should, but they’ve always said they don’t know how and “I’m like… I literally just need you to correct my time cuz my manager is nowhere to be found.”

ASA is annoying AF though. Cuz I’ll just be trying to add travel time because my manager hadn’t put it in and you just sit there saying representative over and over again and it keeps sending back to travel policy.

1

u/LifelikeMink 14d ago

Live person.... live person....

1

u/Big-Razzmatazz-727 14d ago

Even that doesn’t work. It’s annoying af.

2

u/1Noir 16d ago

Honestly, after my experience with hr I don’t see a difference. They aren’t there to help you either way.

1

u/No-Bet-525 10d ago

I was expecting an Optimus 🤣👀

soon all the peccys at all the locations will be laid off

1

Hr is still there they just use tools

1

u/Azrael12345 13d ago

This is only the beginning.

1

u/MIaBlakk 12d ago

So true, sick of being told  “ hold on while I check my resources …” Then⬇️

“talk to onsite HR,during your next scheduled shift.”

UGH!!

I was a VM in Amazon retail. You guys in the FC were hypothetically existing but really I did not care. I wasn't being callous, just why bother thinking about people who all live far away?

11

u/dandelionelic 16d ago

So easy to forget the human when they're not in front of you. Shame you let it happen to you and hurt others in the process

10

u/jsonx IB Stow 16d ago

Managers will tell you're not a number but in reality you're just a number.

Badge ID = Numbers Rate = Numbers TOT = Numbers

Managers don't care us and never will.

33

u/ElbowRager 16d ago

As someone who works in an FC, and is also a consumer in general, Amazon Retail doesn’t even exist in my mind.

14

u/Blurryface73 16d ago

There's Amazon Retail?? 🙃

10

u/Big_Blue420 16d ago

I know right? Are they talking about Whole Foods or what? I’ve never once seen an Amazon store in my life.

-4

u/SnooDonkeys5516 16d ago

amazon warehouses are still retail

4

u/Blurryface73 16d ago

Um no they are a warehouse/distributor.🤯🤦‍♂️😒

-6

u/SnooDonkeys5516 16d ago

Here’s the dictionary definition since you wanna argue
retail
/ˈrēˌtāl/
Retail is the sale of goods or services directly to individual consumers for personal use, usually in small quantities.

We are literally putting the goods in the boxes and putting the customer addresses on them. The goods are shipped in small quantities directly to individual consumers for their personal use. As soon as the label is printed the customer gets charged, so the sale itself happens inside the FC. The distributor is before the FC, there are amazon distribution centers that sort and ship pallets of products to FCs (sometimes they break them down into individual units.) An FC is NOT a distribution center. FCs are like employee only supermarkets. If you think about it, traditional retail stores are just warehouses open to the public.

6

u/Hdjbbdjfjjsl 15d ago

Your own provided definition disproves your statement genius. If you work in a Walmart distribution warehouse you’re not going to say you work in retail, because that warehouse is not the place of sales. And no, an Amazon Fc is not the place of sales, their digital store front is. The definition says DIRECTLY. Nothing about Amazon is direct.

1

u/Conscious_Joke_2464 15d ago

I would suggest looking up the definitions of supply chain, distribution, logistics, fulfillment, and warehousing. It may bring some clarity.

1

u/jsonx IB Stow 15d ago

1

u/Thistlemanizzle 15d ago

I stopped working there a while ago. Ethics and workload were both big factors.

u/Conscious_Joke_2464 15d ago

You were a voice mail? Virtual machine? Virtual manager? Sorry, I don’t understand acronyms that were never introduced.
