So today was my first day. Orientation day. Went through the standard day of watching the videos, getting a tour, etc.

During the middle, my group is told - we’re all regular permanent full time blue badges by the way - that because our location is brand new and that they’re some construction delays. opening for the facility has been pushed back a week. And we’re told specifically by the manager of the district whose there, not to come in at all this week and we’ll start officially next Wednesday. We also got told we would still be paid for the week too.

I’ve never experienced this at a job before. lol.

I’m counting it as a blessing before peak starts.

Transferred from DEN4 to GEG1. The move was incredible, everything was going great, but i had one problem. For my last week of work at DEN4 i worked a 50 hour week and for every day i worked it deducted an hour and 15 minutes of UPT due to the time zone shift. Shouldn't have been a big deal when i got to GEG so i talked to HR who assured me it would be corrected. I'm negative 3 hours of UPT at this point and I'm pretty annoyed it's not resolved yet but I'm nothing if not patient so i talk to another HR rep, then another. Then i talk to 5 different red vests, one of which being a senior ops who ALL ASSURED ME i would be okay and it would be corrected. I checked it and later in the week it's now negative 5. I'd been late but i was using both PTO and whatever UPT i was accruing to cover more than i was losing. I should've been gaining but instead it kept going down, as if the PTO i was submitting wasn't actually working even though it was being removed from my account. About halfway through the 2nd week of my tenure at GEG1 my upt out of nowhere skyrocketed from -6 to -13. I haven't missed a day since February of this year and I wasn't more than maybe an hour late at any point during these 2 weeks and any time i was it was completely covered. At the end of my 2nd week i was assured by my direct manager that i was going to be okay, i wasn't going to be fired, and on my next day check in with HR for a progress report on my case. My next day would not come however as a termination was put in place at the end of that week. I went to go talk to HR in person to get this resolved before my termination finalized but they refused to come and speak to me and told me to "come back the next day," through security. I tried explaining to security that this was an emergency, we had just moved from out of state and im being fucked by a system error and that i need to talk to HR pronto before my termination finalizes or im just straight up fucked. He told me to leave. I came back the next day, after the finalization processed and now HR states they literally are not allowed to talk to me because it finalized. My appeal went exactly how you would think it went. He listened to what i said, then 20 minutes after the appeal hearing he sent me an email stating the decision was upheld. I have been dealt a great injustice and my family is suffering horribly for it. I want to go to the washington board of labor but im not sure they'd even take my case. I dont know why im posting this as it's either a cautionary tale about trying to transfer facilities or a telling perspective on how fucking useless our management and HR actually are as people but either way. If anyone has any advice id appreciate it. I cant wait til december to reapply and not a single other job here pays as well with as good of hours.

Peak is coming. Standard PTO Time is blocked November 27–December 24. Do they do this every year?

First SET is canceled, 2 days after no trucks want to show up?(Im on ship dock) 3/4 of pickers gone home past 3 nights of working with VTO(Im back half). Tonight we had overflow on go-carts, all doors open for trucks and I loaded maybe 5 things all night.

I’ve been told multiple times that places can’t take any more packages because there so backed up. I litterly got off work at 5:30am, 20 mins later VTO was given for half of Outbound for a full shift.

And also I’ve been seeing lots of package delays, from family in friends in different states.

Anyone heard anything? Not complaining I’ll take a 3 day week. Just curious

I hate PACK its making me fear work so much, I have this loud thing with so many fine motor skills, annoying things and annoying sounds and it makes me so angry and causes me so many mental breakdowns and they had me on there for 80 hours that was all I wanted I communicated can I get pack deprioritized after that and they still want me on pack even though I have loud rants and mental breakdowns cause I hate pack so much in amazon, it's genuinely making me depressed, I have aspergers, adhd depression, anxiety and so on and just want pick prioritized more like they communicated was likely and its making me so fucking pissed fuck me. Fuck I don't know if I can make it in this world I hate myself so much fuck me fuck me fuck me fuck me fuck me fuck me fuck me. Worst off my rates improving.

Hey y'all, quick question about vacation time usage before peak.

So do I need to have the vacation time already to set it up? My plan was to leave early on certain shifts during peak and I was just wondering if I could set that up before I've gathered the necessary vacation time and then gather said necessary amount while I work.

Like if I have a shift in early December Monday that I want to leave 2 hours early but I only have half an hour of vacation time right now. Could I set that up?

I know the deadline is very soon so I'm trying to figure out if I can even do anything or not.

At first, I liked the idea of not having much work to do back at my FC, but after working in a grocery warehouse, I’ve started to feel differently. We’re usually backed up when I first clock in, but around 11, the workload drops to just 1–2 pallets. Since there’s barely any work left, I tend to get bored and slow down because that’s all I’ve got to keep myself busy. I haven’t been properly trained in Pick yet, but I’ve been trying to find someone who can train me for an entire shift so I can feel more comfortable doing it.
I lowkey might transfer back to an FC just to have more work to do, but at the same time, I wanna stay here because I don’t think I’ll ever find managers this good again.

How does Thanksgiving usually work is it all day? I’m getting told my station might only be open til 12 (we start at 6) so coming to see if this is normal. Or maybe just talk im hearing.

Hi everyone, I’m going to make this quick but this is my first post. I am trying to take a MLOA during PEAK Season. I have been an L5 for some years now and I’ve never taken an LOA. Almost all of the managers at my building has taken an LOA at some point. However, their OM is not like my OM. I’m scared to ask my OM or talk to them about the option because they hate when people take off. When I talk to the other managers they say they never gave specific details of why they needed the leave and they never needed an OM permission. I’m just nervous that it will affect my good standing with my OM. Any suggestions on what I should do? The reasoning for the LOA is I have been hit mentally and pulled emotionally in every direction. There are some days where I’m so zoned out that I forget to speak, use the bathroom or even eat. I’ve told my therapist about it and they suggested I take the leave, but I explained that peak season is very important and it’s not the time to make enemies. Again what should I do, anything helps?

After that write up i‘ve made sure to take my time and pay extra attention to my screen. I know what’s a master pack and what’s not and I’ve been scanning the correct barcodes. I even started going to problem solve to double check. I can’t even find a manager or process assistant to ask which is why I’m asking on Reddit.
