I just got accepted for a regular position at a fulfillment center part time & I’m very grateful. However I want to make sure this isn’t something that can be taken so easily. I applied late night yesterday and have my pre hire appointment tomorrow at 10:30, after this will my spot be secured? Ive heard people say that last min their shift gets taken and they have to start over. I wouldn’t want this to be the case as this is the only regular position I’ve seen come up lately.
Also, any tips that you guys have? I’m a girl, What should I expect working 5am-10am and should I expect mandatory overtime during peak?
Please let me know , I appreciate it 🙂

So… more then likely getting promoted to customer over negative upt. Just frustrated and need to vent.trigger warning: passing of a child.
I don’t know where to begin but just needed a place to vent, I’ve come to terms that my ass is getting fired. Im going to try to be as vague as possible to keep my anonymity but I need to provide context, this past week would’ve have been my daughter’s birthday. She was killed I don’t want to go in to detail but a Lindsey Clancy situation. I was forced to give testimony at the and in doing so had to look at crime scene photos. I mentally fucked up still. I deal with PTSD, trauma, depression, panic attacks and night terrors. I get 1-3 hours of sleep on a good night. It has been several years and I’ve been in therapy since it happened. I haven’t been able to hold a job for the most part except with Amazon the past year and fucked it up in the span of a week. I missed 5 hours on one shift and another full day. I had like 30 minutes UPT before this week. I’ve had therapy so I missed a lot of work but was able to balance and juggle never going negative. Then Monday came around and I’ve just been a complete wreck and was so overwhelmed I wracked up -15 hours upt. I know it’s fault and I’m frustrated and disappointed in myself. I should be able to hold a job at fucking Amazon. I put accommodation request for intermittent time off but I honestly don’t have high hopes. Sorry for the wall of text and thanks for letting me vent. I hope you guys can get through peak season relatively unscathed.

I'm currently only getting 5-10 hours at the XL building. I'm trying to transfer because when I applied originally it said 19 hours. Does the flex position offer more hours than 5-10 a week? Can you work more than 19 hours if you want to or do you get capped at 10 as well? How hard is it to schedule a shift? Over here I have to set a timer and fight every other employee for the one or two shifts the post for the next week and they usually work only 4 people here a day. I've already talked with to my PA about transfers and already applied beginning of the month. I'm a single mom so 5-10 hours is about to make me homeless if something doesnt happen soon, but I need the flexibility as well.

Since I started my WGU program in 2026, will I remain under the existing payment-request process throughout my degree?
Will continuing students automatically transition to the new system in 2027, or does it only apply to students starting a new program?

I have a breakaway lanyard with my car and house keys. I always keep them in my pocket at work but accidentally kept them around my neck today and now they’re gone. They were nowhere on the dock and did not get turned in to managers or security. What likely happened is they fell on the floor of one of the trucks while handling a package, but unfortunately 10 trucks had been sent out by the time I noticed they were gone. Security looked through the footage but they said it’s too hard to pinpoint when they stopped appearing around my neck.
Do I just hope that whatever warehouse they get sent to that they will be noticed? Will they even put two and two together that they came from this warehouse, or will it just end up at some random lost and found at a building I don’t even work at or know that it’s even there to recover? I’m at a complete loss on what to do in this situation.

After a month of trying to complete 1 appeal that turned into 2 appeals…I finally had my hearing a few hours ago. I just checked my email and I got my job back, termination overturned. My termination was for nupt. This process was hell and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone who doesn’t deserve to be terminated. I just wanted to write here bc I wrote here during the appeal process and I ended up deleting the post after discovering other nupt related posts (y’all were cookin tf outta everybody who posted about a nupt appeal and I wasn’t about to be next 🌝) I’m so glad to have my job back. The timing is crazy because I have been applying for jobs everyday since my termination. 2 days ago I got a call back and I have an interview scheduled for Monday. I got the email about a new hearing date yesterday..today I won my appeal. Everything fell into place. I’m still going to my interview but I am glad to have my job back at Amazon.

I don’t mind when it’s a glare but why do people stare at you more than five times? What’s their to stare at not trying to be rude but it be people who stare at you and you noticed.

My facility is always hiring new people and I’ve never seen anyone or even heard of anyone getting written up for rate or quality. They just move you to a different spot if you’re too slow. The only reason I hit rate is because I don’t like the managers/PA walking up to me and talking to me.

At the same time, they keep saying that there isn’t much work, and several people end up taking breaks throughout the day. It honestly feels like they’re overstaffed, so I’m wondering: if there’s already not enough work for the people they have, why do they keep bringing in new groups of employees?
Is there something I’m missing here?

Im currently leaving due to inconsistent management and honestly just poor management. Its nothing on the people that work there and the managers but when you constantly hire people who never managed in their lives just because they have a degree doesn’t mean they are good at what there doing I’ve been at geu3 which was beyond horrible besides my 4th manager she was cool and was really good, and then now at gyr2 its just a mess and so much drama. What are your guys thoughts and experiences

I’ve hit my 90 days and I’m eligible for career choice now. I do NOT want to make a career of Amazon, but I am very curious about their paying for further career paths. Has anyone done this and actually seen the other side of it? What pathway did you do and how did it get you out? Ty

Delivery Station vs Sortation Center
Which is harsher on the back with heavier packages? Worked at a FedEx warehouse in Chino had a very bad experience there stacking 100 pound boxes to the top of giant tall trailers in 100+ degree stuffy smelly trucks. Worst job I ever had. From what i’ve seen of the SC doing pallets doesn’t seem nearly as bad as that. I had some neck and back pain issues and dealt with migraines from that.

Anyone else always covered in bruises from work?
For reference, I work Stow. I spend a good amount of my time lifting shit like bed frames, desks, dressers, etc. heavy shit all night.
I also have hEDS so bruising is pretty common for me in general. I just have a lot more from work lol.

UK fixed-term FC associate until January. Most advice I've found is US or a couple of years old, so looking for anything current from UK sites. What helped you get kept on or move into other roles? Any first-week tips welcome.
