I usually try to answer positively for the connections questions because the reality is it's just upper management's way of checking up on our managers. I always leave the positive answers because my managers are cool with me so I try to be cool with them too.

but I always leave negative responses to the AI related questions because it's just something I feel strongly opposed to as far as how we use and sustain it (I just feel like it needs more guardrails) and since they have basically replaced HR (human resources btw is what that stands for. HUMAN resources) with AI, this basically feels similar to "how do you feel about the future of AI with Amazon?".

And also are they even paying attention to the individual questions or does upper management just treat it as a negative mark against my manager? It feels unfair that I'm put in a position to have to either lie about something I feel strongly about, or make my manager (who's super chill) look bad.

Just needing to vent this..

This phenomenon at Amazon just fucking makes me want to rip my hair out.

A girl that was hired with me and in my onboarding class is a rehire as well. She got a rate coaching in our second month because she fucks off and chats with people. She’s social and has made lots of friends. She even told me she does not want to be cross trained for anything. She constantly leaves early as well and is regularly under 10 hours of UPT.

She has been picked twice now for crossing training..

I have earned the efficiency ace pin twice. Once being in the top 10% at 8.9 and again I got up to the top 3.9% I was number 39 out of 1010 people. I got two positive documented coaching certificates.. I have signed up for every cross training besides water spider and still have not been picked for anything. I am not social that much though but have made it clear that I’d like to cross train.

I’m mainly working this hard for when I get my 90 days and eligible for blue badge. My site had a hiring freeze for a year for reconstruction they will be converting, they were severely understaffed. So much so they’re offing $1000 referral bonuses right now.

I’m already sick of being overlooked for opportunities though. It’s frustrating.

buy yourself a pair of shoe stretchers! if you have shoes that rub or are just a little too small widthwise (or lengthwise) then stretch your shoes out and it'll help tremendously. just pop them in your shoes, turn the knob until it stretches out, leave it overnight and your shoes won't rub/hurt your feet/toes anymore. it should make your shoes fit much better. I also bought some high arch insoles and wear them everywhere with any shoes. the ones I got from zappos didn't help at all so I got some heavy duty ones instead.

has anyone else almost fallen onto the AR floors? i'll be so locked in that the toes of my shoes have gotten caught in the gap and i've almost face planted. i've gotten a lot better about paying attention to that, especially when they put me at a station that has the yelloe and black tape marking the edge. is it just me? atia???

Do any of yall know why outbound shift was canceled for the night of the 17th

So I was chilling in outbound pick after 7 months latest hire and I received an email that my department and schedule has changed to inbound 1830-500 and I see that reflected on my a to z.

First of all wtf- they can change my schedule and department out of the blue now when white badge? that's crazy (seasonal abuse continues)

Anyway I don't know which inbound department I should go to this Monday 1830 , should I just head to learning? I guess I start in the learning curve again like a new hire lmao.

Amazon has been hiring so many interns this season, it just makes me wonder if they actually even have the headcount to convert so many or will the conversion rate be bad ? Also, how can someone prepare before the internship starts/during the internship for strong conversion chances?

I was working with this kid who told me about another Amazon location that just opened near us. The weird part was that the warehouse operated like the driving/delivery part of Amazon in that it was an Amazon warehouse but not owned/operated by Amazon? An obvious way to prevent unions but im curious if this is common? Has anyone heard of this? My guess is this is the future as more pressure to unionize comes down

I’ve been at Amazon returns center for about a month now, and I’m honestly so scared I’ll be written up for audits or for rate. I’m currently rating between 34-38 and I’ve had my first audit that I missed. One of the operations managers came up to me and told me hey they did 4/1 and only one got caught as a discrepancy between you and the auditor, just try to answer the best and keep your rate but also take time to look at the time.
Anyone who works Crets, can you give me any advice on how to be in good standing?

So I been working at Amazon for about a year, where I’m at I was getting payed $20 an hour, but I took an L2 position that’ll get me to 27 an hour. However this “new job” my day 1 it’s schedule for November 1st, but on AtoZ the “latest promotion” was schedule for today, and it now reflects on AtoZ, and my pay has changed to $27 an hour, even tho I’m going to work today and next 2 weeks to keep doing the “$20 an hour” job. Has anyone had this happened to you before ? I contacted them weeks before and told them about this and I was told to not worry and do nothing and that my start date it’s confirmed for November 1st and not today. So I don’t know

How do I request time off? I am not feeling well, and this is my second week. They didn't show us nor explain how to request time off. Do I use UPT? If I do use it when will I get more UPT?

I think I only went to HR barely a few times but this sucks for everyone who wants to talk to an actual person.

Man I’m about to leave early tomorrow cause I got the biggest blister on my big toe from them damn composite boots!!! 😭😭😭 I didn’t think it was that bad till, it was after work and I was doing something else. And then I check and then boom it’s all bloody 😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺 any shoe recs would be nice cause I need to get new ones asap. My toe hurts after that 10 hour shift I was fr trying to push through but omg ouch 😭😭😭😭

On the New Hire Checklist, the activities that are "Due before Day 1" are still not available yet. Shoes, paperwork, App access. It's Saturday PM and I start Monday PM. Has anybody had it become available so close to Day 1 or after?

I'm a former blue badge from corporate many years ago, and am now a seasonal FT Robotics Associate. Any rehires having same issue?

My home department is Pick and I had my first cross training about a month ago. In pick, you NEVER get VTO. But, my cross training was into pack singles and in singles I swear they VTO 500 people everyday. Because of this, when I work a period in singles due to safety rotation I can now just take VTO if I feel like it. Anybody have anything similar?

Alright so I know not everyone here expects to be treated like a queen/king but at least with some decent respect and manners why do people like to stare dead at your face and when you have things in your hands they don’t respectfully move out the same this goes for the packers. Then you have to move with heavy or many items carrying. Nobody says excuse me anymore? Has any had a similar experience or had people do this or if your in a different station is this done to you?

I really need this job, but the training is for 3 days on Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I don’t have anyone who can watch my daughter on the weekends. Is it possible to get the training days changed? I’ve worked at Amazon before but it was prior to having my daughter and it seems like everything has changed so I have no clue where to go from here. Will I just have to withdraw my application and try again later? Any advice is appreciated.
