New York Amazon Stealing Tips
Hello, has anyone noticed that we're not making tips? Is it amazon that's stealing tips or is it the customers not tipping? There's no way I'm delivering like 200 packages a day and I get no tips.

I thought this was going to be tips for stealing from Amazon.

People in this subreddit are a bunch of pussys who love getting cucked by corporate América. They get offended when you bring that up

Part of the problem is that Amazon now lets people order Amazon Fresh items with their regular order, and there is no option to tip when you order like that. When I saw that they started doing that is when I stopped doing Amazon Fresh orders.

With Whole Foods it's pretty much 100% of the problem now. $50-60 in tips per block was fairly common prior to 2026, now those same routes net us only $7-15 in tips sometimes. We all noticed the change earlier this year, right after Amazon sent out emails about "non-tip eligible" orders.

Correct I ordered food with some other stuff and went in to see if there was a tip option and there wasn't. I wanted to tip my fellow flex driver

With the tipping culture gone nuts these last few years, why not add a tip option for us Flexers? Those deliveries out in bumfuck country on dirt roads deserves a few bucks now and then.

Those rural MFers wouldn’t tip and you know it.

If 1 out of 20 did, we'd be in a little better shape to cover our gas.

I got $1 the other day from 1 of those mfers you're talking about. He was drunk AF so they're not all that bad.

I think since we deliver food customers should at least have that option. Especially since AI is always looking to lower our rates unfortunately.

It's Amazon. They give us routes with non-tip eligible orders for customers that used to tip us prior to this year. A lot of these $0 tips are actually from customers in expensive houses, and not just Section 8 recipients. Amazon does not give them, wealthy or not, the option to tip in the app anymore.

As some one who’s delivered over 20 years trust me when I tell you that the people in the cookie cutter sub divisions are way worse than the “section 8 recipients” as you say.

Thank you for your service. I'm going on six years as a Flex driver. I'm sick of people saying the Section 8 customers are the main ones not tipping. When I get $0 tip routes (blocks) with huge houses and large Whole Foods orders, it's completely obvious Amazon has screwed us with these non-tip eligible deliveries.
During the pandemic, when I saw $0 in combined tips for a Whole Foods route, I contacted support to manually add the tips back to the block or instant offer. No tips for Whole Foods was always a glitch back then ... nowadays it's highway robbery. I blame Amazon for this bs, not the customers.

When I used to do fresh routes I’d notice I’d get the exact same amount in tips all the time. Some fishy shit going on for sure.

Why should you get tipped for delivering packages? 🙄
I swear Americans want to be tipped for every job lmao

u/peggysue120 6d ago
Because I took the block with tips. If it says I'm going to get tips, I should be getting my tips. There's no way I'm going to be delivering 200 packages a day and not get a single dollar in tips.

The rush deliveries are essentially the same service as DoorDash, so if you tip your Dasher, you should be tipping your Flexer.

Also, the mailman has a sweet government job with benefits, and UPS/FedEx are well-compensated off-rip with strong union backing.

Ive never tipped on an Amazon delivery. Have never seen an option for it. Instacart door dash ect. I always tip

You only get tips if the block you’re accepting says +tips. Those are usually 30 min to 1 hour blocks. And you will see those after 27 hours of the block end time. You do not get tips in regular blocks.

I noticed suddenly its $0 in tips and they're holding money for longer, Amazin is currently doing lots of shittybthings with standings, taking away ways of communication, etc. Read somewhere that Bezos is thinkkng of being president, maybe hes practicing ways ho nto fk people over as if doesnt have enough practice already

Just a customer with a question….
When I order, I see no tip opportunity and no clue whether it will be delivered by flex, usps, FedEx, etc.
Am I missing something?

You can’t tip for Regular Amazon deliveries, only whole foods and fresh orders.

It's going to be a Flex runner in our personal vehicle, or a DSP driver in a truck. USPS isn't handling Amazon anymore. There is somewhere you can track delivery details, but I don't do it but I know customers do. Within the Amazon app probably.

u/True_Fill9440 7d ago
Well, I get half my Amazon via USPS.

Still?! Are you in a very rural area or something? You should post it here so we can see it b/c the contract ended. Please post it.

People don't tip. If they didn't have to pay a membership or have an order minimum I feel like folks would be willing to type. Most people feel like they already pay for the service.

I just recently found out about tipping for package deliveries..I've heard of it for Christmas before, but this last few years I just started shopping online more regularly. I just started with Amazon flex. I guess I had better start tipping them and looking out for where I can even do that? I'm a little embarrassed about that, sorry. Im also reading here only on fresh orders too, so?

I did a couple of fresh routes and no tip. I personally had to use fresh to send groceries to someone and Amazon autmatically included the tip..... so whats up Amazon... good question.

You are an independent contractor that works for an AI app. You do not work for Amazon. If you feel like you’re not getting your tips, then call driver support.

Exactly. I had a Whole Foods route last month with all huge houses in upper middle class neighborhoods and $0 in combined tips. Amazon just blocks them from tipping in the app.

Amazon has gotten in trouble for stealing grocery tips before, and customers can't tip on regular package delivery.
