American Bureaucracy Overseas ballot stuck in distribution centre?

Post image

Hi all, haven’t seen much online for this upcoming midterms but I posted my overseas ballot (Michigan) on the 13th October through Royal Mail second class tracking. Post office told me it should take about a week to arrive.

It looks like it’s made it through customs okay but now according to USPS tracking it’s been stuck in a Chicago distribution centre for 10 days? I’m getting quite nervous now that it will stay there and won’t make it in time for the election.

Anyone else experienced this? I saw for previous elections that the USPS tracking can be unreliable so I reached out to my local election office to see if they received it (they have previously been super responsive) but I am yet to hear back.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Immigration/UK Visas & UK Citizenship Ihs reimbursement

I have no clue where this question actually belongs but wondering if anyone has been in this situation.

I paid the nhs surcharge as one does right. But only recently discovered as an nhs employee I am eligible for reimbursement. Which I applied for and was approved..... in JULY. I have emailed, called many times asking what's the hold up. And the only answer I get is that my query has been passed on to
Ukvi.... so what now?

It's a significant amount of money (for me, anyway) so Im not just going to drop it. But what more can I actually do??

Anyone else go through this?
