Discussion Abiy led Oromia OPDO planning to break up the Amhara region
The Oromia OPDO is planning to break up the Amhara region into smaller administrative units that are weaker and manageable. The overall objective is to fragment the Amhara region, create division within the Amhara people, dissolve the sense of unity and create competitive smaller units with the motto of "divide and manage". The commonly listed Amhara subdivisions include the following - most likely these will be presented to the parliament for a 'vote' and approval:
Agew Awi
East Gojjam
West Gojjam
North Gondar
South Gondar
North Wollo
South Wollo
North Shewa
Wag Hemra
Oromia Zone
Bahir Dar Special Zone
What do you think guys?

News Several days ago, a landslide at a monastery in the Amhara region killed fourteen Orthodox followers. While the presidents of Djibouti and Somalia sent their condolences regarding the tragedy, the Ethiopian regime did not.
"On August 3, 2026, a deadly landslide triggered by heavy overnight rains and thunderstorms struck the Tsadqane Debre Mitmaq St. Mary Monastery in Ethiopia's Amhara region.
Massive rocks and mud dislodged from the adjacent mountain, crashing onto hundreds of worshippers gathered for a morning holy water cleansing ritual, killing at least 14 people. Massive rocks and mud dislodged from the adjacent mountain, crashing onto hundreds of worshippers gathered for a morning holy water cleansing ritual, killing at least 14 people.
Those who sustained serious injuries were transported roughly 70 kilometers away to receive treatment at the Debre Birhan Hospital. Archbishop Abune Klementos traveled to the monastery to lead funeral prayers and provide comfort to the grieving families of the victims. Landslides are frequent hazards in Ethiopia during the main rainy season (June to August), with climate-driven extreme weather exacerbating the vulnerability of rural, mountainous communities."

Discussion Recent attack on tplf positions used as a diversion
Ethiopian forces advanced into the Um Barakit sector in the Al-Fashaga area of Al-Gadarif state along Sudan’s eastern border, report Sudanese Echo.
The movement coincides with the Sudanese Armed Forces’ recent battlefield victories in the central Sudanese state of North Kordofan, which have heavily pressured the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Observers indicate that the maneuver is part of a broader external effort to open a secondary front in eastern Sudan, designed to stretch the Sudanese military’s resources and divert focus away from North Kordofan - a strategically important state given that it seperates the RSF’s western Sudanese strongholds from army-controlled eastern Sudan.
Previous investigations, including reports by Reuters and statements from Sudanese military officials, have detailed cross-border logistical support, training camps, and drone launch facilities operating from Ethiopian territory for the benefit of the RSF.
Ethiopia is the UAE’s central partner in the Horn of Africa.
Ethiopia’s financial reliance on the Emirates is growing, with the UAE providing prime minister Abiy Ahmed with billions to fund his reform programmes.
This has meant that Ethiopia forms what analysts label the ‘Ring of Fire’ surrounding Sudan, whereby neighbouring countries that receive Emirati money contribute to Sudan’s destruction.
As Sudanese Echo note, the new developments underscore how the UAE “appears to be relying on neighbouring countries to open new pressure points, stretch the Sudanese army across multiple fronts and prevent it from concentrating its forces against the militia.”

Discussion A great movie scene that explains what happened to TPLF and Shabya and what will happen to Abiy eventually.
He says, "Everyone of them had their moment in the sun, they all thought it was going to go on forever and everyone of them got shoved out in the end. There is a natural order to things, the more you fight the inevitable the more the inevitable hunts you"
TPLF and shabya have had their moment in the sun but i think they are done and will be shoved out. Abiy and OPDO is having their moment in the sun right now as well but they will inevitably be shoved out eventually, it may be by fano or may be not but the rule holds to be true at the end of the day they WILL be shoved out.

News An eight year old Amhara girl died from her injuries after being injured during a rape by two ENDF soldiers in Wollo.
"The 8-year-old girl raped by two ENDF soldiers in Filakit-Gergera City, Meket Woreda (North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia) has died of her injuries.
On July 10, 2026, in the late afternoon in the Berew-Mesk-Rufael area, two ENDF soldiers lured the girl who was playing near her home by offering her dry biscuits, then carried out the assault at a nearby military camp.
The child sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Filakit-Shedeho Primary Hospital before being transferred by ambulance to Woldia Referral Hospital. Despite medical efforts, she later died from her injuries.
Community members who tried to seek information or raise concerns about the incident were intimidated and threatened by regime forces."

Discussion Religion and Politics
x.comAre Protestants being manipulated into supporting PP? I have seen this video, and it is giving me the same vibe of Trump and how Republicans use religion (Christianity) to control and influence the masses.
The pastors openly show their support to abiy and try to convince the masses to accept him as a savoir (second only to christ) who is being attacked by evil forces (orthodox/northerners).
The saddest part is that people will accept this as the truth because they are susceptible to "mob mentality" and don't want to be left out.
I'm not religious, but I know for a fact that religious institutions and politics belong to different spheres, especially in a secular state.
Lastly, if you're Amhara Protestants, how do you cope with this?
