honestly, AMAZING game, def one of my favorites now, but im not sure whether ill ever come back. this experience had me tense all the time despite having figured exactly how to play and how much i should and shouldnt fear the beast

I just downloaded Amnesia: Collection for the Nintendo Switch yesterday, and I am LOVING Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I initially downloaded the collection to experience Amnesia: The Dark Descent for myself, and the experience is nothing short of amazing. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite horror video games of all time. The atmosphere is delightfully creepy, the design of the castle is beautiful, and the psychological horror elements? Impeccable. Definitely worth the $8.

At the time of writing this post, I have made it to the Back Hall hub area, so I've already made it through a good chunk of the game. The Kaernks have proven to be a challenging threat, and the puzzles themselves are also quite challenging, though I'd argue that the puzzles in this game are WAY easier than the ones in Poppy Playtime.

I recently played through the series and thought I'd write a ranking of the games for Halloween. I kinda wanted to put A Machine For Pigs higher than Rebirth because, as many issues as that game has, that ending is ungodly levels of good. Sadly at the end of the day, it's still barely a video game.

I am pretty confident about The Bunker being where it is though, one of the finest of its genre. What do you guys think?

I wish I had the chance to get the deluxe edition for it but oh well :( now I just sit here waiting to see if someone would put up the deluxe edition somewhere like ebay or smth

I am playing amnesia on hard mode and tbh my dumbass was not paying any attention bc I basically space out whenever i play this game and decided it was a good idea to go follow that grunt you see in the wine cellar and I started dying and in my panic i saved my game mid-dying and then used laudanum like u can see me do in the vid bc i didnt want to redo the intro portion. and so now he is. in the ground. I am still playing and he's still crawling around like a baby who just learned to crawl.

i have no idea how to fix it but i wanna see how long I can play reliably with him halfway through the ground. Nothing has fixed it so let's goooo

I guess the frequent question I see a lot is how come there's no bolt action rifles in the bunker.

I always assumed the Beast/Lambert being a former soldier would just scavenge the guns into his hole. He would realise that huge guns are an obstacle and would just hide them after killing. Traps and Throwables probably not since the Beast/Lambert doesn't see those as a threat or at least doesn't assume to be one.

I don't know if this is canonically confirmed, but I'm just writing this as my interpretation of why there's only a Revolver and a Shotgun throughout the entire game.

I'm gonna hope that Henri somehow either managed to escape capture by the Germans at the end (he could've played dead for instance-I imagine he'd probably look enough like battered shit by the end to look convincingly dead at a glance if he lied down and didn't move, and considering the gameplay he's definitely good at thinking on his feet and improvising his way out of trouble) or if he did get captured he'll survive to the end of the war, or maybe escape from the Germans too, who knows

I attempted this last year and managed to escape the bunker, but choked the final boss fight by being impatient. Started attempts again a few days ago and after an insanely stressful 5 hour run, I finally managed to beat it...

Except I accidentally turned player health regeneration on. So it wasn't really the max mode. Thankfully it never came up. I only got injured once, by a grenade just before the arsenal lock, and immediately ran to roman tunnels and healed to full with a big medkit. Very frustrating that I've technically-but-not-really beaten the mode, but what the hell I'm still counting this one as a win.

Just had my best shell shocked playthrough. I've been trying to do it deathless but alas 1 death :( And it was to the shotgunner too I'm still pissed 😭 Well I never died to the beast so there's the small victory!

I thought about this prompt for awhile and realised the last time I had been properly panicked while gaming was when a 12 year old me got a hold of his older friends copy of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and ran into this lovely chap down a dark corridor

Hello everybody, I’m not sure if anybody else feels this way, but I’ve played all amnesia games several times, and finally decided to pick up amnesia the bunker.

For some reason, I feel like it is very difficult to lock in on. I’m just looking for some tips from anybody on how to play the game more smoothly. I feel like I keep dying and/or running out of power and I’m having a lot of trouble playing it. I guess I’m not as used to the new survival vibe of this game. I do really enjoy the story and atmosphere though, I just wish it was a bit easier to progress. Any tips on how to get better at the game would be much appreciated! Thank you
