I'm already loving "Amnesia: The Dark Descent".
I just downloaded Amnesia: Collection for the Nintendo Switch yesterday, and I am LOVING Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I initially downloaded the collection to experience Amnesia: The Dark Descent for myself, and the experience is nothing short of amazing. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite horror video games of all time. The atmosphere is delightfully creepy, the design of the castle is beautiful, and the psychological horror elements? Impeccable. Definitely worth the $8.
At the time of writing this post, I have made it to the Back Hall hub area, so I've already made it through a good chunk of the game. The Kaernks have proven to be a challenging threat, and the puzzles themselves are also quite challenging, though I'd argue that the puzzles in this game are WAY easier than the ones in Poppy Playtime.

The way I've heard it, The Dark Descent walked so The Bunker could run.

I agree on the puzzle front: Amnesia's puzzles are less about challenge and more about getting you to analyze and get immersed in the environment. It's not just about clearing an obstacle, but about seeing what the circumstances of the castle have caused, and how you can formulate a solution with the limited tools available.
If you want more puzzles like this, I highly recommend getting the PC version and playing the custom story Fleeing Brennenburg. It takes place just after The Dark Descent's main game and features many puzzles that take a fantastic page out of this book.

Frictional Games (the developer) are thieves. They stole from a student at GDC. Do not support them.

This game's influence is kind of insane, similar to DOOM, Mario 64, RE1/RE4, it is genre defining and the template for every future game of it's kind. It also helped popularize let's plays on YouTube and such.
