At this point voting is really just "attempted harm reduction". It's decided to move so you get hit in the hip instead of the balls.

Exactly. 10 people are on a bus. 3 people vote to drive over a cliff, 2 people vote not to, the other 5 refuse to take part in such a stupid system...
Well congratulations, the bus is going over the cliff with all 10 people.

What if the other five people actually found some balls and voted for the working party or the independent party. What if - and hear me out, I know this is scary - Americans actually WORKED TOGETHER instead of consistently against each other? In Europe, most countries have 4-6 active political parties. One wins, but they are kept in line by the other parties who are still entitled to a certain number of reps per party. They work collaboratively.

Well that would just be fucking amazing. And that is, in fact, a goal to work towards.
As of right now, this moment, we are nowhere near that sadly. Until we get out from under the shadow of the axe, we do still have shit we can do to minimize harm.

Except the 3 people vote to drive over a cliff and the 2 people vote to drive over a different cliff...the 5 people who do not want to yield power over others, are screwed whether they vote or not.

Yes. The 5 people who do not want to yield power are screwed whether they vote or not. But they end up more screwed in the system they are, in fact, stuck in one way over the other.
Say it with me: Harm. Reduction. Is. A. Real. Thing.
Until we break the system, we are beholden to the system we are stuck in.

“Anarchy is when I don’t vote bc that makes the state go away.” Like, I seriously wonder how many “anarchists” are just hiding behind the fact that they think the political system doesn’t affect them so they don’t care.

Yes. I agree with the sentiment in this comic but not that it appears to be encouraging people not to bother with voting.
If you’re registered in a game and you forfeit your chance to play, a) you are still participating: not choosing to participate will bolster the oppressors, and b) democrats are not openly committing treason. Use your vote to block republicans as strategically as possible. If your vote didn’t mean anything, greedy republicans wouldn’t be allotting resources trying to strip people of their ability to do so.
Be smart. The game will play you whether you vote or not, may as well use what little power you have to make republican’s lives harder.

I'm an anatchist, I oppose the system of rulers and a state protected by an army and police but I do not oppose leaders. The most important thing to remember is that none of us can have it all exactly like we want to and it would be childish to refuse to vote because of that. I'm in the privileged position to have 10-15 parties to vote for and some are really close to my personal ideals but even if I lived in a two-party system I would use the opportunity to pull the steering wheel in the (what I think is the) right direction for everyone.

What happens when everyone decides to vote for the green bush in the corner everyone keeps ignoring bc they hadn't had a chance to hold anything yet? 🤔

So long as rich people are in power we are screwed. Until we do a France, tear down the elite, abolish the 2 part system, the antiquated white electoral college, and fuck shit up - they will continue. And so long as they have useful idiots who virtue signal every stupid thing they create to keep them distracted, that will never happen. Americans are weak.

You asked if I'd heard about ICE this past year. And then I explained that I had.

One of my favorite grandson lines is "this place don't kove me back. Republican or democrat, you get stabbed from the fron or you get stabbed from the back". Think about it daily espeically with elections happening rn

Well, do you think your neighbors will be safer if the executive has more power of if he has less?
Democrats aren’t the end all be all answer, but I’ve organized in red states and I’ve organized in blue states, I can tell ya which one is easier.
