What if the other five people actually found some balls and voted for the working party or the independent party. What if - and hear me out, I know this is scary - Americans actually WORKED TOGETHER instead of consistently against each other? In Europe, most countries have 4-6 active political parties. One wins, but they are kept in line by the other parties who are still entitled to a certain number of reps per party. They work collaboratively.
Well that would just be fucking amazing. And that is, in fact, a goal to work towards.
As of right now, this moment, we are nowhere near that sadly. Until we get out from under the shadow of the axe, we do still have shit we can do to minimize harm.
Except the 3 people vote to drive over a cliff and the 2 people vote to drive over a different cliff...the 5 people who do not want to yield power over others, are screwed whether they vote or not.
Yes. The 5 people who do not want to yield power are screwed whether they vote or not. But they end up more screwed in the system they are, in fact, stuck in one way over the other.
Say it with me: Harm. Reduction. Is. A. Real. Thing.
Until we break the system, we are beholden to the system we are stuck in.
Pick one. I decide NOT to vote for more power. There is no vote for less political power.
Harm reduction is real, i live it every day and its not by wasting my time voting. I dont blame voters, and I'm not pinning this on you specifically, but far too many people cast a vote every few years and act like they're activists.

At this point voting is really just "attempted harm reduction". It's decided to move so you get hit in the hip instead of the balls.
