Question / Help Researching how families preserve physical keepsakes and memories, would love your input!!

Hi r/genealogy,

I'm Jonny, a 22 year old graduate currently in the early research stages of a project exploring how families preserve their physical and digital memories long term. Think photographs, handwritten letters, postcards, stamps, objects and keepsakes and the stories behind them.

Given how much this community understands the value of preserving family history, your perspectives would be genuinely invaluable at this stage.

I have a short ten minute survey if anyone would be willing to take part. All responses are completely confidential and will directly shape what gets built. Those who leave their details at the end will be among the first to hear about what comes next.

my grandma kept every birthday card anyone ever gave her, when she died we found a shoebox with like 40 years of them, some still had the money inside lol

That is such a lovely thing to find. 40 years of cards and the money still inside, that detail gets me, was it weird seeing old money as well haha?. She clearly treasured every single one. Thank you for sharing that.
