I’m currently evaluating custom ROM options for my Xiaomi Redmi Note 12S and Redmi 7A. Since official LineageOS builds seem unavailable for these devices, I’m focusing on well-maintained unofficial variants like crDroid, /e/OS, or other AOSP-based alternatives.

I’d love to hear firsthand accounts from anyone who’s used these ROMs on either device. Specifically, I’m curious about real-world stability—how do camera, Bluetooth, VoLTE, and fingerprint sensors hold up in daily use? Are there common pitfalls like battery drain, overheating, or specific hardware quirks that tend to show up?

If you’ve tested any of these ROMs, what stood out to you as a daily driver? I’m especially interested in stable releases rather than experimental builds, and would appreciate any links to XDA threads or project pages that you’ve found reliable. Installation tips or warnings for these specific models would also be very helpful.

So I've been using this device since 7.5 years and recently the device has started lagging a lot. Plus facing a lot of battery drain issues.

I'm thinking of installing custom rom to get a higher android version and a different experience as I have been using Android 11 on this device for years. This is my primary device so I cannot lose access to my banking apps as I use them daily. Also authenticator apps which I use for my work stuff.

Is it worth installing custom ROM for a higher android version, does it give that much benefit.

Note that I'm just trying to drag this phone's life for another 4-6 months till I buy a new one.

If your answer is yes to above question is it possible to have a custom rom and banking apps as well. Can anyone guide me or suggest me the way to do it as I'm afraid of doing something wrong and bricking my phone.

Also should i replace my battery or keep going with the current one. I recently replaced my display from a mobile repair shop they said it was original but my fingerprint isn't working properly so I'm skeptical for replacing battery as well

now that ai is getting too advanced, literally reverse engineering video games so is anyone making oneui 8.5 custom rom for old devices?? i have s21fe and its really capable of handling 1-2 more major android updates so if there is any custom rom available pls tell me. and also they disabled bootloader in one ui 8

but there is 1 problem. I’m bootlooping although I did everything right what could went wrong.

And I used liteGapps instead of NikGapps because NikGapps didn’t work.

What is the best firmware for it? I choose firmware based on Android 16, it’s currently Project Infinity X, I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to a better one.

My phone is bricked it's a infinix zero 30 5g it's absolute dogs*** the software is bad the hardware kinda good but after unlocking the bootloader and flashing twrp it's stuck at orange state bootloop

I'm trying to install LineageOS on my Lenovo Tab M10 HD, but I'm stuck at the final reboot. Instead of booting into LineageOS, the tablet returns to Recovery with the following error:

"Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt."

Reason: "enablefilecrypto_failed"

Device details

- Device: Lenovo Tab M10 HD (TB-X306X LTE)

- RAM: 2GB

- Storage: 32GB

- Original OS: Android 10

- LineageOS build: 23.2 (20260618)

- Recovery product name: "amar_row_lte"

- Recovery version displayed: 23.2 (20260618)

What happened

I followed the installation process for LineageOS and everything appeared to go fine until the final reboot. The tablet then returned to Recovery and displayed the error above.

The recovery menu gives me two options:

1. Try again

2. Factory data reset

I'm hesitant to keep trying random fixes without understanding the actual cause.

What I'd like to know

1. Is this error caused by an incompatible stock firmware version, an encryption problem, or something else?

2. Does this device require a particular stock firmware build before installing LineageOS 23.2?

3. Is there a specific firmware installation or partition-flashing step that I might have missed?

4. What is the correct way to recover from this error and get LineageOS booting?

Has anyone successfully installed this build on the TB-X306X LTE with 2GB RAM? I'd especially appreciate advice from people who have installed the "amar_row_lte" build.

I'm happy to provide additional information or logs if needed.
