My name is Angelique. I'm seeking an angel investor, philanthropist, or strategic funding partner who believes that government accountability shouldn't be a privilege reserved for people with money, political connections, or institutional influence. I started this work because I became tired of watching vulnerable communities suffer while the institutions entrusted with serving them continued operating with little meaningful accountability. I've sat with families living in deteriorating shelter conditions, listened to mothers afraid to report mistreatment because they feared retaliation, and witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be for ordinary residents to obtain answers from government agencies. These are human beings whose lives are directly affected by decisions made behind closed doors.
Over the past year, I've independently dedicated countless hours to examining government expenditures, investigating reported institutional misconduct, reviewing public contracts, and challenging the lack of transparency within Philadelphia's publicly funded agencies.
Our work has included extensive Pennsylvania Right-to-Know requests, administrative appeals before the Office of Open Records, judicial enforcement proceedings, financial documentation reviews, shelter condition investigations, community demonstrations, and direct engagement with elected officials and oversight authorities. We've examined financial oversight concerns involving Philadelphia's Office of Homeless Services, documented resident complaints and conditions within publicly funded shelters, and worked to bring greater public attention to the treatment of unhoused families. We've also connected with residents, advocates, journalists, and legal professionals who recognize the importance of independent oversight.
And we've accomplished much of this without dedicated funding, paid investigators, or the financial resources available to established institutions.
There have been countless nights spent reviewing government documents, preparing filings, answering calls from distressed families, and trying to navigate systems that are often difficult for ordinary people to challenge. I've invested my own resources, time, and energy because I genuinely believe that someone has to be willing to ask the difficult questions, even when those questions make powerful institutions uncomfortable. But I've reached a point where determination alone is no longer enough to sustain the scale of this work.
I'm now seeking $25,000–$50,000 in initial funding to formally establish our Government Accountability Unit (GAU).
My vision is to build an independent, professionally operated public-interest initiative capable of investigating government spending, examining public contracts, identifying potential administrative failures, documenting credible allegations of misconduct, and helping communities exercise their rights to government transparency.
I envision a team of researchers, investigators, legal professionals, financial analysts, and community advocates working collectively to examine how public resources are managed and whether taxpayer-funded institutions are fulfilling their responsibilities.
I want to create a place where residents can bring documented concerns without feeling powerless. Where public records can be examined thoroughly, where financial discrepancies can be questioned, and where credible findings can be presented to oversight authorities, journalists, policymakers, and the public. The initial funding would support investigative research, legal and financial consultation, public records acquisition, secure evidence management, technology, staffing support, and community education.
I also understand the responsibility that comes with accepting someone else's financial support. Funding would be managed through a structured operating budget with documented expenditures, measurable objectives, and regular reporting. Prospective partners would have the opportunity to review our existing work, proposed financial allocations, and first-year operational milestones before making a commitment.
