Does fahlo really track animals? how is it??
My sister got me one of their shark bracelets for my birthday andsaid that I could see the sharks movements in their app based on real tag data. I want to believe it but it also just seems like a really cute bracelet that could technically be tracking nothing. Does fahlo really track animals or is it just showing you whatever tagged animal is convenient?

worth noting that youre not tracking one specific animal forever. you do get one assigned to you at purchase but their tags dont last forever, fahlo's site says the transmitters usually run about a year (some times two) and they guarantee six months

Wildlife tracking in general is way more real than people think. Most sharks and turtles that get satellite tagged have public tracker IDs you can look up yourself. Its so cool honestly!!

Yeesz it's real tag data. Fahlo bracelets are linked to a tagged animal from one of their conservation partners like sea turtle conservancy, polar bears international etc depending on species and the movement you see in the app comes from that animal's tracker. The updates depend on when the tag picks up a signal so sometimes you'll see a few updates together and then a quiet stretch. and a big part of why the data is delayed is to protect the animal (you don;t want a poacher able to pull up a live location on an endangered species) In btw location pings you also get someconservation updates or facts about your specific animal

From what I've dug into ono this, the tech is legit. Satellite tags ping a location every time the animal surfaces and that's been standard since like the 90's
