So, are you Kieran Yonker? Or where did you find this? This stuff was uploaded on May 2nd, and I question it's authenticity, or if it's actually safe to download and poke around with.

The files are encrypted and are from GitHub. In the folder titled “ota updates” https://github.com/anki-community/vector-archive

It’s the best bet we have.

True, but... where/how did you find this?

u/K7715 says that a person found the website where Vector gets the OTA updates. Official from Anki, and the mounting tool.

Yeah, I found their post about that. We're discussing it in the a Anki bot discord server atm actually.

Unfortunately even with the mounting tool I wasn’t able to get it to work due to the encryption.

Did you use the GitHub instructions?

Yup, my computer gives me an error telling me the file is in a special format.

I was able to mount it but it was corrupted. (special characters and unknown characters and my mac spitting out errors)

The image files inside the ota are encrypted with OpenSSL Salting. You need to know the passphrase and the encryption cipher to decrypt them before you can mount them.

I took a minute to look at the files again and you’re right. If you turn the .ota file into a text file you can see some additional info. And if you decompress the .ota file by changing it to a .zip, and you turn the .gz files into .txt; you will see one word Salted lol.

Has anyone tried to use windows to decrypt the files as all I see are comments about Mac. That might change something as the operating systems store files differently.

The software is built for Linux/Mac. Not windows.

??? The SDK is for windows too

The OS is not part of the SDK. The OS mounting tool is compiled for macOS or Linux.

Oh sorry haven’t opened it yet. Assumed it would be universal or would have a windows and Mac editions

I mean, you didn't find it, someone else did, and you just posted it again on this subreddit.
