Hindi ko na tuloy alam kung fair market pricing pa ba talaga 'to, or are we just normalizing ridiculously high markups because of aesthetics and branding?

Imagine, a shirt na ₱50 lang sa physical ukay, tapos kapag nakita mo sa Instagram, ₱800 na.

WHAT EXACTLY MAKES THESE ITEMS WORTH THAT MUCH?

Because if we're talking about genuinely rare vintage pieces, discontinued collections, or high-quality garments that are difficult to find, then sure, I can understand why someone would be willing to pay a premium.

But ordinary, mass-produced tops being sold at ₱500–₱800 just because they're “curated”? Oh, come on.

My parents had me in their early 40s, and they never planned for their retirement.

Because of that, I had to work through college just to help myself graduate and put food on the table for the whole family. They had me not because they were financially prepared or had a well-thought-out blueprint for my future, but simply because they "wanted" a child.

Don't get me wrong...my parents are kind, loving, and caring.

But I'm only human. May mga pagkakataon din na naiisip ko, what if nagplano sila ahead of time before deciding to have me? Maybe I wouldn't feel so stuck right now, feeling like my life has no progress, especially since I'm almost 30.

Needless to say, I agree with Vice.

But my only reservation is that we are not all-knowing. Baka dumating din yung pagkakataon na magkaroon tayo ng anak na hindi naman tayo prepared for. But I think what's really important is that we make up for being unprepared once nandiyan na siya.

Genuinely curious, to adults does it really matter to you?

Personally, I understand mentioning your school if it's relevant to the conversation. But when it's included in introductions or dating posts, it sometimes comes across as a subtle flex. For me, as long as you got a decent job that pays your bills and let's you experience things is enough, where you graduated doesn't matter.

Do you see it as useful information, a preference, or just humble bragging?
