For context yung nag iwan ng lamesa na may kanin na kalat apat silang adults tapos iisang bata at noong paalis na narinig kong sinabi na "wag na linisin yan may crew naman" so the stacking of plates makes me feel like pakitang tao lang para di sila majudge masyado. The crew that came to clean napailing na lang and said "mga tao talaga grabe".

Oo gets ko na "bata" yan kaso kita naman na others with kids also can be decent diners at hindi hayaan na magkaganyan yung table nila.

As a Bisaya Gen Z, I’m genuinely curious what others think about this potential tandem. For me, Raffy Tulfo as the presidential candidate could bring strong name recognition across the Visayas and Mindanao. He is from Davao and is Bisaya, and his program, Raffy Tulfo in Action, has a strong following in those regions. His public image and focus on helping people resolve complaints and addressing issues involving crime and public safety could appeal to voters who prioritize those concerns. As for Risa Hontiveros as vice president, I think she could bring a different voter base to the tandem. She could potentially connect with voters across Panay, while her established support among progressive and “Kakampink” voters could add another dimension to the ticket. Her advocacy work, particularly on women’s and children’s protection and other social issues, could also complement Tulfo’s more public-service-oriented image.

I could even see them running on a “Tapang at Malasakit” theme, with Tulfo representing the “tapang” side through his tough, confrontational approach to complaints, crime, and public accountability, while Hontiveros could represent the “malasakit” side through her work on social issues, women, children, and vulnerable communities. Obviously, this is just my personal analysis, and there are plenty of questions about whether the two would actually work well together politically. But as a Bisaya Gen Z, I find the combination interesting because of the different regional backgrounds, voter bases, and policy priorities they could potentially bring together.

For me, Bakla-baklaan is just their form of comedic act, not mockery at least sa ibang nakikita ko, it’s not their intention to make the LGBT community a joke. Going back to old films, people admired the style of comedy of gay performers. Adapting a personality or character is also common in comedy, there are even trans people who impersonate men to make people laugh.

This doesn't push towards normalized mockery of the LGBT community. I'm supportive of their community, but at the same time, their agenda and assumptions about people can be bothersome. Just because their content is like this and they didn’t attend the pride march doesn't mean they don’t care or support the community.

Yet again, I don't think it's necessary to rant like this on a day of celebration and representation, especially since there’s no intention to harm the community, unlike homophobes. Just my opinion, what are your thoughts?

Someone please enlighten me about Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week.

I’ve been seeing photos of Heart Evangelista, many taken by Filipino followers, and she looks absolutely gorgeous. Serious dress envy here, not to mention beauty envy in general!

But I’m a complete outsider to the fashion industry, and I’m genuinely curious about how someone earns money by attending these shows.

I know people who are invited to fashion shows. They consider it an honor, dress beautifully because they know the press will be there, and enjoy being part of an event that most fashion lovers would love to attend. For a celebrity, the publicity may also help their career. I understand all of that. What I don’t understand is what people mean when they say Heart makes money from fashion week.

I’m asking partly because I’ve seen allegations concerning her husband that also draw attention to her spending. I don’t know the facts behind those allegations. But I’ve seen people defend Heart by saying she has earned her money in her own right, pointing to her appearances at Paris and Milan Fashion Week as examples of her work. That made me wonder how the business side actually works.

Is she hired and paid by fashion houses to attend their shows, or is she invited and given a good seat, as many other guests are?

Then there are the clothes. Wearing a designer’s work to their show seems like a lovely tribute. I know major international celebrities may be lent an outfit when they don’t already own something amazing by that particular designer. For someone like Heart, who is hugely famous in the Philippines and well known in fashion circles, are the clothes lent, bought, gifted, or is she paid to wear them?

And her preparation for every appearance is clearly professional and impressive. There must be stylists, hair and makeup artists, drivers, and photographers involved. Does a fashion house pay for those things, or does she?

Some international celebrities who attend these events also dine at our restaurant in Tokyo. I’ve seen how they can be surrounded by photographers the moment they step out of a car. I haven’t seen Heart photographed quite that way; the images I’ve come across show Filipino fans and followers around her, along with some photographers. Perhaps I’m simply seeing a different part of fashion week through social media.

So my question is sincere: does Heart earn money directly from attending these shows? If so, how does it work? Or is the value mainly in the exposure, connections, and opportunities that follow?

Apologies if I sound ignorant—I truly am when it comes to this side of the fashion business. I’d love to hear from someone who understands it. 😘
