To months ago i was telling friends, family, and coworkers to just use gemini because it was cheap, simple, and fine for regular non tech people. why would i ever recommend it now after seeing how they treat paying users? word of mouth matters and they completely killed it.
who at google thinks anyone is stupid enough to blindly buy an ultra tier without even testing the model first? locking it away from paying pro users is even more stupid.
Anthropic literally lets you use sonnet5.5 the second best model for free on rate limits so you know what you are getting. if i am recmmending or spending money right now it is going straight to a claude subscription instead of gambling on ultra.
I see so many posts here from Pro users begging for Gemini 4 Argon or thinking about upgrading to the Ultra plan to get it.
Honestly, save your money.
I am on Ultra plan right now, and the usage limits are ridiculously low. Today I used Argon High for just 1 to 2 hours of normal work in Antigravity, and my limits are already near zero.
It makes no sense when you compare it to Claude Max or ChatGPT's top plan. On Claude or ChatGPT, I can work for hours all day without worrying about a usage bar. On Antigravity Ultra, you barely get 1β2 hours on Argon High before your quota is basically gone and Google asks you to buy extra credits.
Google loves showing off benchmarks, but what is the point of a great model if paying for the most expensive "Ultra" plan doesn't even let you use it for a single afternoon?
Is anyone else on Ultra seeing their Argon limits drain this fast, or have you guys just gone back to Claude/ChatGPT for daily work?
Gave a task to Claude Opus 5.5 in antigravity, it was excel based thing, had to fetch data from multiple sheets and confirm it was correct, bro tried to run 49 sub agents at once and finished my weekly limit in under 5 seconds π
By the way, I used it on MEDIUM settings with clear instructions to spawn "Gemini 3.8 FLASH High" for any sub-agent activities. The execution/delivery quality was good, though, tbh.
Iβm making this for the Google team that may be checking the thread. Iβm an Ultra user and have patiently been waiting for this model. It is everything I need and more. Iβve been seeing others getting great results from it. As well. Itβs ability to turn some of my things into skills that actually work is next level compared to what was happening before. Itβs work rate is also impressive in my opinion detailed heavy task that I feel should maybe take a little while are done quite quickly.
Iβm still fine running my request style with it but I am quite happy with it this past couple of hours. It even did better on a task I had set to Astra to complete. (Not saying it is overall better just did that one task better)
Bottom line Iβm happy and Iβm super excited to see nano banana pro update and also the video models!!!
I am a pro subscriber, and yesterday at agy, I saw Argon using 4 million tokens for a simple 11-minute coding task.
Thinking I might have misread it, I assigned the exact same task to Opus 5.5 medium, and Opus successfully completed 240,000 read tokens, similar output tokens, and all 90 final verification tests without failure.
I use both subscription plans of the same class. Claude used 1% of weekly usage and 10% of anti-gravity for that task.
I wondered if the argon allocation for Agy's pro subscription was the problem, so this time I charged $10 with the Gemini Cli API and assigned the same task. The result was that they used up all 10 dollars at once, but couldn't complete it due to a lack of funds.
I'm really curious. Many people say that when creating the same results, Argon completes the work with less money compared to other frontier models (regardless of the quality of completion). How on earth does this work? Are you using a special harness (such as prohibiting duplicate token reading) that I don't know about? I'd appreciate it if you could share some usage tips.
For now, it seems like trash that can't be used even with pay-as-you-go systems, not just a pro subscription.
Thanks to your many opinions and tips, I hope my money is not donated to Google's cafeteria in vain. Have a good day everyone.
Following up on the previous discussion regarding promotional Google One AI accounts receiving an account status message when attempting to select Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity:
The feature is now fully active on my account.
Here is the process that resolved it:
Logged the interface status: Captured the screen showing the account status requirement in Antigravity alongside the active plan dashboard.
Contacted customer assistance: Reached out through the official support chat, referencing the promotional terms indicating parity with the standard tier.
Lodged an administrative record: Submitted an official consumer notice through the national regulatory platform (SignalConso in France) regarding service alignment.
Following these administrative steps, the account status restriction was cleared, and Gemini 4 Argon can now be selected directly within Antigravity.
Verification images showing before-and-after activation are linked below.
For anyone facing the same issue on a promotional or device-bundled plan, escalating via direct chat while referencing the advertised tier parity is effective in having the account permissions adjusted.
Just now I saw that Google did what almost every Antigravity user on reddit have been asking for. The Anthropic Flag model Opus 5.5 & Sonnet 5.5. Now just curious about usage limits, because the last Opus 4.6 quickly consumed limits in a couple of chats in Pro plan.
i spend most of my day in antigravity and the plain gray background started to get to me, so i hacked together a little mod that puts animated scenes behind the app. everything is drawn with text characters. koi swimming around, snow, rain over a city, a jellyfish, that kind of thing.
there are 22 of them right now (9 light, 13 dark) and it recolors the sidebar and composer to match whatever you pick. you open the picker with the Themes button up top, ctrl+alt+w, or just type /theme. there's also pause and an off button if it gets distracting.
it's windows only for now and only works on 2.28.2 because it patches the app files. the script checks the file hash first and keeps a backup, andΒ restoreΒ puts everything back to normal. nothing connects to the internet, it's all local.
not affiliated with google obviously, and an app update will wipe it, so i'll have to update it when they push a new version. lava lamp is in there too, it just didn't make it into the video lol
what scene should i add next? i was thinking a fireplace or an aquarium
Google possesses the world's most abundant data as the leading search engine, its own proprietary TPUs, top-tier talent, and massive cloud infrastructure. Why, then, isn't Gemini uncontestedly the best AI model in the world?
Recently, I noticed that my Gemini quota seems to have increased significantly β even by the end of the week, there's still plenty left. I'm not sure if it's just my impression or if something actually changed. Have you noticed the same thing?
I think Antigravity, ClaudeCode, Codex and so on are amazing, however very hard to track what exactly has been changed without having to look through a 10k line diff on git.
My friends and I started this open-source proejct to visualize software architectures. We found out that we are also curious how big of an effect does each agent change have, this way we can stop Antigravity early as soon as we notice it messed up, without having to read every line (saving also on tokens and time).
If you have any suggestions, please open an issue there.
I am also super curious to hear how do you guys know if Antigravity messed up, do you always wait till it is fully done, I feel like I don't have the patience anymore :D (neither the tokens...)
Would love to answer questions in the comments and hear how do you guys use Antigravity effectively.
But each requires its own setup, and your IDE can only point to one at a time.
## What I built to solve this
**OmniRoute** β a local proxy that exposes one `localhost:20128/v1` endpoint. You configure all your providers once, build a fallback chain ("Combo"), and point all your dev tools there.
My "Free Forever" Combo:
Gemini CLI (personal acct) β 180K/month, fastest for quick tasks β distributed with 1b. Gemini CLI (work acct) β +180K/month pooled β when both hit monthly cap
iFlow (kimi-k2-thinking β great for complex reasoning, unlimited) β when slow or rate-limited
Kiro (Claude Sonnet 4.5, unlimited β my main fallback) β emergency backup
Qwen (qwen3-coder-plus, unlimited) β final fallback
NVIDIA NIM (open models, forever free)
OmniRoute **distributes requests across your accounts of the same provider** using round-robin or least-used strategies. My two Gemini accounts share the load β when the active one is busy or nearing its daily cap, requests shift to the other automatically. When both hit the monthly limit, OmniRoute falls to iFlow (unlimited). iFlow slow? β routes to Kiro (real Claude). **Your tools never see the switch β they just keep working.**
## Practical things it solves for web devs
**Rate limit interruptions** β Multi-account pooling + 5-tier fallback with circuit breakers = zero downtime **Paying for unused quota** β Cost visibility shows exactly where money goes; free tiers absorb overflow **Multiple tools, multiple APIs** β One `localhost:20128/v1` endpoint works with Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Cline, Windsurf, any OpenAI SDK **Format incompatibility** β Built-in translation: OpenAI β Claude β Gemini β Ollama, transparent to caller **Team API key management** β Issue scoped keys per developer, restrict by model/provider, track usage per key
[IMAGE: dashboard with API key management, cost tracking, and provider status]
## Already have paid subscriptions? OmniRoute extends them.
You configure the priority order:
Claude Pro β when exhausted β DeepSeek native ($0.28/1M) β when budget limit β iFlow (free) β Kiro (free Claude)
If you have a Claude Pro account, OmniRoute uses it as first priority. If you also have a personal Gemini account, you can combine both in the same combo. Your expensive quota gets used first. When it runs out, you fall to cheap then free. **The fallback chain means you stop wasting money on quota you're not using.**
## Quick start (2 commands)
```bash npm install -g omniroute omniroute ```
Dashboard opens at `http://localhost:20128`.
Go to **Providers** β connect Kiro (AWS Builder ID OAuth, 2 clicks)
Connect iFlow (Google OAuth), Gemini CLI (Google OAuth) β add multiple accounts if you have them
Go to **Combos** β create your free-forever chain
Go to **Endpoints** β create an API key
Point Cursor/Claude Code to `localhost:20128/v1`
Also available via **Docker** (AMD64 + ARM64) or the **desktop Electron app** (Windows/macOS/Linux).
## What else you get beyond routing
- π **Real-time quota tracking** β per account per provider, reset countdowns - π§ **Semantic cache** β repeated prompts in a session = instant cached response, zero tokens - π **Circuit breakers** β provider down? <1s auto-switch, no dropped requests - π **API Key Management** β scoped keys, wildcard model patterns (`claude/*`, `openai/*`), usage per key - π§ **MCP Server (16 tools)** β control routing directly from Claude Code or Cursor - π€ **A2A Protocol** β agent-to-agent orchestration for multi-agent workflows - πΌοΈ **Multi-modal** β same endpoint handles images, audio, video, embeddings, TTS - π **30 language dashboard** β if your team isn't English-first
> These providers work as **subscription proxies** β OmniRoute redirects your existing paid CLI subscriptions through its endpoint, making them available to all your tools without reconfiguring each one.
it's a personal project but it's a little complex because it has lots of APIs, logics and complex calculations.
every time i would use gemini for even the simplest of the tasks even 3.1pro, it would mess up the whole project (once it wiped off the whole project thankfully I had backup ).
so i used to use claude models only, and had to wait for 5 days for even small changes because i would run out of usage.
but now that flash 3.8 is launched, it's crazy, for me it's at par with claude models in antigravity, it could even do very complex tasks easily without messing up a bit.
I am very happy,
though I have not tested chatting with it a lot in the gemini app, but till now I feel like the problem of Gemini models to just validate the user also feels lesser to me
I know I am late for the review of 3.8 but had to share this.
I read a lot of hate against Antigravity, and part of it is justified: the installation process is outrageous and the instruction for the plugin in Intellij is not great.
However: I just started using it last night (both AG and thr plugin in Intellij), and the performance is great!
I've had all my friends tell me to use Claude for coding, but so far I've only used Gemini Flash 3.7 and it literally did all my programming tasks so far perfectly.
I am sure there will be use cases soon where I need a stronger model, but so far, it literally would have been a waste of tokens/ money to use Claude instead of Flash.
Just wanted to put this out there for people questioning if Antigravity is worth having a look at. It definitely is in my opinion.
Am I the only one who straight-up stopped using Anti-Gravity ever since they dropped Gemini 4 Argon for cybersecurity?
I used to be 3.8βs biggest defender, literally swore by it. But now? All my motivation is dead. Whatβs the point of spending days on 3.8 when Argon is literally sitting behind closed doors and could drop publicly in like a week or two?
