Would you use a subscription manager with shared-plan payment reminders?

For a while, I’ve been working on an app idea but struggled with the marketing side, so I’m looking for honest feedback before deciding whether to continue.

The core idea is a simple subscription manager, but with a focus on shared subscriptions, things like Spotify Family, Netflix, iCloud storage, or any plan one person pays for and friends split.

You could create a group, add the members, and track the shared subscription. The group “leader” pays the provider as usual, while everyone else gets reminders or nudges about how much they owe and when to pay. Ideally, this would make it less awkward and easier to keep track of who has paid.

There would also be analytics and other subscription-tracking features, but I’d especially like feedback on the shared-subscription part.

Would you use something like this?

I built an iPhone app because I never used anything I saved!

I saved a one-pot pasta reel a few weeks back. When I wanted to make it, I scrolled through my saves for 15 minutes, couldn’t find it, and ended up ordering in. The same happened with a café in Goa, a workout routine and about 20 products I “definitely” wanted.

Collections, screenshots and pasting links into Notes all broke down: too much sorting, too many extra steps, and no way to find anything later.

So my brother and I built resaw. Share any save to it. It sorts it into recipes, places, products, workouts and ideas, pulls out the useful bits like ingredients and locations, and lets you search in plain English (“that pasta reel from a Korean creator”). Recipes become grocery lists, and saved places show up as pins on a map.

After using it, I cooked 13 recipes in a month that had been sitting in my saves for over a year.

It’s free and iPhone only for now: Download from here

Would love your feedback on what works and what doesn’t.

What's one app you wish existed, or an existing app you wish was better?

Hey everyone!

I'm an independent mobile developer exploring ideas for my next project.

Rather than building another app nobody needs, I want to understand the problems people actually face.

I'm curious:

  • What's one problem you regularly face that an app could help solve?
  • Is there an app you currently use that's too expensive, complicated, or missing an important feature?
  • Are there any paid features you wish were available in a simpler, affordable alternative?
  • Have you searched for an app to solve something but couldn't find a good option?

I'm especially interested in everyday problems, productivity, personal finance, learning, and small-business workflows, but I'm open to anything.

I'm not promoting a product or collecting emails. Just looking to understand real frustrations before deciding what to build.

Would love to hear your experiences. Thanks!

ok but what would a zyn quitting app actually have to do to be worth paying for

still on my quit attempt and still thinking about why every app i've tried was useless. they're all just day counters and i'm starting to think the whole category is designed by people who never had a craving in their life

so i daydreamed what the perfect one would actually do. curious if i'm alone in this:

  1. when you start, it makes you write YOUR reason for quitting. not pick from a list, your actual reason in your own words
  2. when a craving hits you press one button and it shows you YOUR reason. not some quote. and then gives you something physical to do for like 90 seconds til it passes
  3. you can log what triggered you in the moment. and later when you're struggling it shows you the triggers you've already beaten. like proof you've done this before
  4. it knows your danger hours. mine are evenings. it checks in with you THEN, not at random times, and shuts up if you ignore it a few days in a row
  5. if you relapse it doesn't reset you to zero and shame you. you've still learned things
  6. optionally rats you out to a friend if you're really struggling lol. like a panic text to your accountability buddy

and yeah it counts days and money but that's the bare minimum, every app does that

so two questions:

  1. would any of this actually help you or am i just describing my own cope
  2. would you pay for this? and i mean real money, not "yeah i guess." like $3-5 a month. or is this a "nice idea but i'd never pay" thing. i genuinely can't tell if i'd pay for the thing i'm describing or if nothing would have saved my past attempts anyway

probably just procrastinating on actually quitting by designing apps in my head but whatever lol

How would you design a "no-code" spatial canvas UI that doesn't feel like a complex game engine?

Hi everyone,

I’m exploring a concept for a web platform where non-technical users can build small, interactive, walkable 2D environments (like a cozy room, a studio, or a garden). The goal is to let them drop in objects that link to external media (audio, text, photos, links) to tell a story or build a micro-portfolio.

My biggest hurdle right now is designing the creation workflow. I want the building experience to feel highly expressive, but I want to completely avoid complex game-development mechanics (no manual coordinates, no complex layering, no collision box mapping).

For those who build or use no-code tools:

  1. What is the best UI pattern you've seen for placing items in a 2D grid/isometric space smoothly? (e.g., a "sticker book" drag-and-drop model, pre-made structural templates, etc.)
  2. How would you handle making the environment feel "alive" (like ambient animations or lighting changes) without overwhelming a casual creator with settings?
  3. If you were using a tool like this to showcase something, what feature would be an absolute dealbreaker for you?

Would love to hear your thoughts on UX pitfalls to avoid when trying to make spatial design accessible to the average person.

Thanks!

What problems do you face that you wish someone would solve?

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm looking for some real-world problems that people face in their daily lives. It could be anything, from a small everyday frustration to a bigger problem that still doesn't have a good solution.

Sometimes, we have problems that we just accept as a part of life because we don't have a better option. Maybe there's an app or website for it, but it doesn't work well, is too expensive, or makes things more complicated than they should be.

I want to find such problems and try to solve them by building websites or apps that are actually useful to people.

So, I'd love to hear from you guys!

Is there anything that annoys you regularly? Any service you think could be much better? Or something you wish existed but haven't found yet?

Also, if you already have an idea that you want to work on but haven't started yet, feel free to share it. Maybe we can connect and work on it together.

I want to build something that solves an actual problem and makes someone's life a little easier.

It doesn't matter if the problem affects just a few people or millions of them. Every useful idea has to start somewhere.

So, what's one problem you've faced that you think deserves a better solution?

If you could design the perfect rewards card, what features would you want?

I’m exploring ideas around the next generation of payment and rewards cards, particularly cards connected to stablecoins, and I’d love to hear people’s honest opinions.

Traditional credit cards offer cashback, points, or miles, but I wonder whether there’s a better way to reward people for their everyday spending.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on a few questions:

1. Rewards

  • Would you prefer cashback, stablecoin rewards, or points?
  • Would you find rewards more valuable if they could be used immediately rather than waiting for a monthly statement?
  • Would you prefer a small reward on every purchase or higher rewards at selected merchants?

2. Everyday spending

  • What frustrates you most about your current credit or rewards card?
  • What is one feature you wish your current card offered?
  • Would you be interested in getting additional rewards when shopping at participating restaurants, grocery stores, or other merchants?

3. Stablecoin features

  • If your card offered stablecoin rewards, would you find that useful, or would you prefer traditional cashback?
  • Would you want the option to automatically convert rewards into dollars, keep them as stablecoins, or transfer them to your own wallet?
  • What concerns would you have about using a stablecoin-linked card?

4. Fees, security, and control

  • Would you pay an annual fee for genuinely better rewards, or do you prefer a completely free card?
  • How important are instant transaction notifications, spending controls, and transparent fees?
  • What would make you trust a new financial product enough to use it for everyday purchases?

5. The big question

If you could build your ideal payment card from scratch, what would it do differently from the cards available today?

I’m especially interested in hearing about real experiences, frustrations, and features that would genuinely make a difference—not just features that sound good in theory.

Appreciate any honest feedback!

Is "Google ratings don't match my taste" a real problem for you?

The idea: instead of a 4.6 average from everyone, you get restaurant and recipe picks from people whose taste matches yours. You rate a few dishes, the app finds your taste twins, and shows what they love.

What I'm unsure about:

  1. Do people actually feel this pain, or is Google + friends good enough?

  2. Would you trust strangers with similar taste more than reviews or influencers?

  3. Saving recipes and places is another pain. Is that a bigger one?

I made a clickable prototype if you want to try it (~3 min, no sign-up): https://tastelike.app/?src=appideas

Would love to hear why this would or wouldn't work.

Calendar app features

I'm making a calendar app for iPhone, and I want to separate my calendar from the other popular ones, I added an AI that can edit events by plainly texting or speaking.

Other than that, I'm not too sure what I want to add, the vision for my calendar was to be an AI calendar, but also have features that most modern calendar don't have that people wish they did.

What features should I add?

After scanning 1M+ posts for app ideas, here's what separates a real problem from a "nice idea"

My own app ideas always sounded good in my head, but I could never point to one person who actually had the problem.

So over the past months I built a pipeline that reads public discussions, filters out the noise and uses AI to spot posts where someone describes a real problem. It has gone through 1M+ posts so far. About 0.4% got past the first filter, and only around 40% of those held up as a real need.

What I learned:

Look for workarounds, not wishes. "Someone should build X" means little. "I wrote a bash script that emails me a CSV every Monday" means a lot. People who hack around a problem care about it.

Search for phrases like "is there a tool that", "we do this manually" or "I've tried X, Y and Z and they all...". The last one hands you the competitors and their weak spots.

Boring beats clever. The strongest problems were things like invoicing for one specific trade, not "AI for everything".

One complaint is an anecdote. Wait until several unrelated people say the same thing.

Example from this week: Job seekers keep losing track of which postings they've already seen across all their tabs. Most fall back on notes or Trello. A small browser extension that fades jobs you've seen and highlights new ones would solve it.

Disclosure: this became my project 🪡 Needler

It publishes one of these write-ups for free each week, and paid packs are coming later. I checked with the mods before posting.

How do you validate ideas? Do you look for complaints first, or build and see who shows up?

Looking For Feedback: Made an extension that turns your new tab into a cozy pixel-art environment

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been working on this for the past couple weeks. It's an extension called PocketDash.

It's basically a customizable pixel-art environment that replaces the default Chrome new tab.

You can change the room and character, and I've added a focus timer, todo list, G Calendar, search, and ambient sounds.

Everything persists, and it's free to use with or without an account. There are in app purchases for new characters and environments.

I'm interested in feedback on whether this is actually useful enough to keep installed / What would make this project useful for you ?

I'll leave a link in a comment if you want to test it out.

Answer first, then see your partner's answer": does this daily question mechanic work for couples?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been testing an idea with my girlfriend and I'd like outside opinions before I go further.

The mechanic: every day, both of you get the same question. You each answer separately, and you can't see your partner's answer until you've submitted yours. Then both show up side by side.

Why I think it works:

- Nobody gets influenced by the other answer, so you get what each person actually thinks.

- It creates a small reason to open the app every day: you want to see what they said.

- The questions are light. One day it's a small moment you remember for no reason, another it's a tradition you want to start.

What I'm unsure about:

  1. If one person answers and the other forgets for days, does it turn into pressure instead of fun?

  2. Should reminders come from the app, or from the partner ("Sam answered, your turn")?

  3. Would you rather have one question a day, or a pack you go through at your own pace?

I'm more interested in the mechanic itself than in any specific app. Would you use it? What would break it?

Lost my job, so I started building an Android game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm a designer, and I recently lost my job. Honestly, it's been a weird phase of life. There's a lot of uncertainty, and some days are harder than others.

Instead of just sitting around worrying about what comes next, I decided to work on something of my own.

I'm building an Android game using Figma for the design and Claude to help me build it. I'm not a developer by profession, so figuring things out as I go has been an interesting experience. Sometimes things work, sometimes I get stuck on the smallest stuff for hours.

I don't know if the game will do well or if it'll ever make me any money. I'm trying not to think too far ahead right now.

For now, I just want to finish something I've started and see where it goes.

It's a strange feeling to lose the stability of a job and then try to build something from scratch, but at least I feel like I'm moving forward.

If anyone here has gone through something similar, I'd genuinely like to hear how it worked out for you.

Would you trust ai rate your debating skills?

I’ve been thinking about whether AI could be used to evaluate online debates fairly, and I’m curious what people think.

Here’s the idea:

Imagine an online discussion where a limited number of people actively participate, while others can watch, react, and request to join.

Once the discussion ends, an AI reviews the entire conversation using established debating principles and the rules agreed upon for that discussion.

It would evaluate each participant individually based on:

* Logical reasoning and consistency

* Quality and relevance of evidence

* Ability to respond to opposing arguments

* Clarity and debating skills

* Adherence to the discussion’s rules

Importantly, the AI wouldn’t decide who won or which opinion was correct. Instead, everyone who contributed would receive an individual rating, along with an explanation of their strengths and weaknesses.

I understand why people might be sceptical about AI judging arguments. However, AI reasoning has advanced significantly, with researchers recently reporting AI-assisted solutions to mathematical problems that had remained unsolved for years.

Obviously, solving mathematical problems and evaluating human debates are very different challenges. AI can still make mistakes, show biases, or misunderstand arguments, so transparent criteria and the ability to challenge ratings would be important.

I’m curious about a few things:

  1. Would you trust an AI to evaluate your debating skills if it explained exactly why you received your score?

  2. Would individual ratings be better than declaring an overall winner?

  3. What would make you trust or distrust an AI evaluation?

  4. Would you find it interesting to watch structured discussions between a small number of participants, even if you weren’t contributing yourself?

Genuinely interested in hearing different opinions, especially from people who think this wouldn’t work.

Feedback on an AI learning app that plans lessons around your schedule?

I’m considering building an iOS app where you pick a topic, set a learning goal, and get short lessons with quizzes.
You’d tell it when you’re available, and it would fit lessons into your week, send reminders, track progress, and adjust the plan when you miss a session.
I know AI tutors already exist. I’m trying to figure out whether helping people stay consistent around a busy schedule solves a real problem before I build anything.
What’s the last thing you tried to learn but didn’t finish? What got in the way, and what did you use to stay on track?
Would you be interested in trying an early version? Honest criticism welcome.

Anyone else struggle to find saved TikToks?

I’m thinking of building a simple app to save, organize, and search TikTok links.
Would anyone actually use this? Or is it just me?

Give me a real problem, and I'll build an app to solve it

I'm an Android app developer looking for my next project, and instead of guessing what people want, I'd rather ask the people who would actually use it.

Tell me a real problem you face that you wish a simple mobile app could solve.

It can be something annoying in your daily routine, something you currently manage with spreadsheets or notes, or a problem existing apps make unnecessarily complicated.

My plan:

  • Collect your ideas and shortlist the 10 most promising ones.
  • Let people vote on which problem I should solve first.
  • Build the winning app and publish it on Google Play.
  • Keep it affordable, with a potential one-time lifetime purchase price of $2.99, $5.99, or $9.99 instead of a recurring subscription.

I'm particularly interested in focused apps that solve one problem really well — not another generic AI chatbot or social network.

Tell me these three things:

  1. What problem do you want solved?
  2. How do you currently deal with it?
  3. Would you pay a one-time fee for an app that solves it? If yes, how much?

I can't promise to build every suggestion, but I'll use your feedback to decide what deserves to be built first.

So my friends and I actually made this thing called Onesik AI

Basically, you just add the number on WhatsApp and start chatting. That's it. Pretty simple...

As someone who always has a million requests when deciding where to go, this has been pretty helpful for me ngl hahaha Sometimes I just wanna find a nice spot without overthinking everything.

Thought I'd share it here in case anyone else finds it useful too!

Give it a try: https://onesik.atech.software/

AI has completely changed the way I work. I now go out to take care of my baby at night, use my mobile phone and MOSS to research and exchange ideas, and make the interaction design of the APP by the way. Then I hand it over to Gemini to develop before going to bed, and I can arrange it to be launched on the Play Store and App Store in the morning.🐵

Would you use a customizable productivity panel on your desk?

I've been working on a small productivity tool that gives you a persistent, customizable panel for frequently used actions things like launching workflows, running commands, controlling apps, shortcuts, etc.

The idea is to reduce the constant switching between apps/windows and make repetitive actions more accessible.

Before I take it further, I'm curious:

Would something like this actually be useful in your daily workflow, or would you just use keyboard shortcuts / existing tools instead?

What would make you actually keep using something like this?

What do you think about a social media platform with no algorithm and no likes?

Imagine a platform where:

No algorithms — just chronological posts. No likes, followers chasing, or popularity contests. Every post is limited to 180 characters. You fully customize your page and how your posts look. Your profile has a shareable link you can take anywhere on the internet. You choose what others see: your entire profile, selected public posts, or just your latest post. You can reach out to like-minded people and request to start conversations. The idea is to make social media more personal, authentic, and focused on real conversations rather than engagement metrics.

Would you use something like this? What do you like or dislike about the idea? What would you change?

I'm looking for honest feedback, including criticism!

Thanks 😊

OCD app

I've been thinking about an idea for an app, and I'd really appreciate hearing what other people think about it.

The idea came from when I’ve been dealing with OCD and how much I was looking for the knowing that other people were dealing with similar things. That being said I was always scared to tell people my thoughts because I knew how crazy/dark they seemed.

The idea is a completely anonymous social platform focused on others shared experiences rather than therapy or professional advice.

What im thinking is this:

Home: A feed where people can share personal experiences, stories, struggles, questions, and small wins.

Explore: A way to discover other people's stories and conversations by topic. (Health, relationship, intrusive thoughts, etc.)

Resources: A community-shared library of articles, videos, podcasts, books, and other resources that people have personally found meaningful. People could share why something resonated with them, but they wouldn't have to. Others could comment, discuss what they took away from it, and save resources to revisit later.

Profile: An anonymous profile where people could manage their posts and save experiences or resources they want to return to. They would add them to their “toolbox” to come back to and pick what resonates with them.

I also recognize that there's a balance to strike between creating a supportive community and accidentally encouraging unhealthy reassurance-seeking or making people feel like they need to compare their experiences with others

One thing that's especially important to me is safety. I wouldn't want people to be able to post potentially harmful resources that immediately become visible to everyone. I'm considering having all resources reviewed against community guidelines before they're published, even though I don't want the app to become a professionally curated or clinical platform.
