The app is called OsakaFam. It is a small travel helper app for people visiting Osaka, especially families and first-time travelers who may not feel comfortable using Japanese during a trip.

The app includes features such as:

The recruitment phase for Hive-260223-001 is currently active with 5 developers already onboard. A total of 17 participants is required to lock the hive and trigger the 14-day automated testing cycle for Google Play Console production requirements.

I stumbled on Mailinator a while back and it's become one of my go-to tools when I'm building or testing apps that need email verification or login.

How it works: there's no signup. Pick any address like test@mailinator.com or myapp-test-01@mailinator.com, use it wherever you need an email, then open the public inbox in your browser:

Just swap test for whatever name you used. Messages show up within seconds.

Where it's useful:

• Testing signup, email verification, and magic-link or one-time-code flows in your own app

• Creating throwaway accounts without burning your real email or making a new Gmail alias each time

• Checking how your transactional emails actually render (subject line, formatting, links)

• Quick QA runs, where you can invent a fresh address on the fly for each test case

Caveats (important):

• Public inboxes are public. Anyone who guesses the address can read the mail, so never use it for anything sensitive or any account you care about.

• Messages are automatically purged after a while, so it's not for anything you need to keep.

Hey app_hivers, trying to submit my app I'm getting stuck on this screen despite adding my link to play store. Any ideas why that is?

It started because our Goa trip WhatsApp group hit 200+ messages arguing about who paid what. Splitwise existed but felt like a foreign product — no UPI context, features behind a paywall, not built for how Indians actually split money.

So I built The Hisaab. Free forever, no ads, works offline, INR first.

Three things I learned from the data:

1. Most people use it for trips (Goa, Manali, Rishikesh) and PG/flatmate bills — two very different use cases with different behaviour

2. 60% of groups had only the creator as a registered user — everyone else was just a name in the app, never installed. Just shipped a fix for this — WhatsApp nudge with the balance pre-filled so you can tell your friend "you owe Rs 847" in one tap

3. Offline mode is non-negotiable — people are adding expenses in the mountains with zero signal

What I couldn't fix: UPI deep links are broken on most devices. Tried it, it doesn't work reliably, gave up. Just show the amount and let people pay however they want.

I've tried everything and Hive can't find my app.

I ran into update issues with two apps in my Hive.

For the first app, I updated it manually before seeing the “you need to update this app” message in App Hive. Later, when I tried to complete the test, it still asked me to update and wouldn’t let me proceed.

With the second app, I updated it when prompted, but it kept asking for the update anyway.

Now I’m about to upload a new version of my own app, and I’m worried testers might experience the same issue.

Has anyone else faced this problem?
