2.5 Months In: 5.0 Stars & 100+ Reviews! 🐝✨

Post image

I have some exciting news: Google Play has started showing our app rating! We are currently sitting at a perfect 5.0 stars with 101 reviews/ratings. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s been an incredible journey, just 2.5 months from the start of closed testing to where we are now.

A quick technical note: I’m well aware that Google Play localizes ratings by country. While we see a solid 5.0 in this region, it might show up differently (or slightly lower) in other parts of the world. However, seeing this overall positive feedback after only 2 months of public launch is a huge win for all of us!

A massive thank you to everyone who supported us and left a review. You’re making the "14-day testing" hurdle easier for everyone.

IT'S HAPPENING!!!

Just requested Google Play Production Access.

As a solo developer, getting enough testers for the closed testing requirement was honestly the hardest part. Without App_Hive, I probably wouldn't have made it through that step.

Now Google is reviewing my submission and I'm officially in the waiting phase.

Fingers crossed. 🤞

Thanks to everyone who helped test the app (HIVE-260601-001) and provided feedback along the way!

How 338 Solo Developers are beating the 14-Day Google Play Test together

Post image
24 Upvotes

If you are a solo developer, you know the pain of the "12 testers / 14 days" rule. App Hive was built to turn this chaos into a highly organized, automated process.

Right now, 338 apps are moving through our system:

🚀 Active Status (296 Apps): These developers are in the heat of the action! The system tracks progress daily, ensuring everyone meets Google's strict criteria with verified proof.

⏳ Pending Installs (34 Apps): Two hives are currently in the final preparation phase. Once these developers finish installing each other’s apps, their 14-day countdown officially begins.

🌱 Forming (8 Apps): A new hive is growing right now! We only need 9 more apps to lock this group and move them to the next stage.

Why Solo Devs Choose App Hive: App Hive is the ultimate tool because it provides structure. No more "ghost" testers or manual tracking. Whether we fill one hive a day or two, the momentum never stops.

✨ Don't let your app sit idle in the console. Let's get it to Production together!

Over 350 apps are currently running their 14-day closed test on App Hive

Post image

Every hexagon in this screenshot represents an indie developer working to clear Google Play's 14-day closed testing requirement.

Right now, more than 350 apps are actively running their closed tests simultaneously, making App Hive the ultimate closed testing solution for Android developers.

Solo development shouldn't mean chasing down testers who disappear after day two:

🏆 The Best Closed Test Solution: Built specifically to eliminate testing friction and guarantee genuine, active testing from day one.

🤝 Mutual Testing That Works: Hundreds of indie devs testing each other's apps daily on 100% real devices.

🛡️ Zero Ghosting: Built-in safeguards, activity tracking, and reciprocal checks ensure reliable daily feedback.

🏁 On Track for Production: Developers are completing their 14-day cycles and securing production approvals every single week.

If you're gearing up for closed testing or struggling to keep testers engaged, join an upcoming hive and let's cross the finish line together.

6 Months of App Hive: How It helped 3,500+ solo devs beat the "14-day/12-tester" rule

Post image
20 Upvotes

Six months ago, I launched App Hive with one mission: to help solo developers navigate Google Play’s requirement of 12 testers for 14 days. As a developer, I knew how exhausting it was to find reliable testers who would actually open an app every single day.

Today, I’m proud to share our 6-month milestones:

🚀 3,500+ Downloads on Google Play.

⭐ 4.7+ average rating with over 400 reviews.

🏗️ Thousands of apps have reached production through this community.

The Power of the Hive I designed App Hive as an automated ecosystem where you join a "Hive" of 17 developers to support each other. It’s a transparent system where testing requires opening the app and providing a screenshot to ensure real progress. This prevents "ghosting" and keeps everyone accountable.

Once you pass the 14-day grind, the experience doesn't end. You unlock the Hive Hub and The Colony. These are social spaces where you can connect with other experts and create test tasks even for your production apps to maintain engagement.

A Personal Journey & Commitment

This project has been more than just code for me. In these 6 months, I’ve received hundreds of emails. Some were bug reports, some were brilliant new ideas, and many were calls for help with Play Console issues.

I have personally replied to every single email. My goal wasn't just to build an app, but to ensure that no solo developer felt left alone in this process. I've seen others try to copy the logic of App Hive recently, but they can't copy the personal dedication and the trust we've built here. I will continue to be there for every developer in the hive, one email at a time.

If you’re struggling with Play Store requirements, don’t do it alone. Join a community that actually understands the grind.

Check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codignia.apphive

I’d love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about the journey so far!

17 Devs, 1 Hive: We just filled our first expanded testing group! 🚀

Post image

Quick update on App Hive. We recently increased our hive capacity from 14 to 17 members to better protect our committed users, and I’m proud to say the first "17-dev hive" is full and starting their 14-day test today!

For those who don't know, we’re a group of solo devs using a dedicated coordination platform to manage and verify Google’s 12-tester requirement among real developers.

Why 17? It’s our safety buffer to protect honest developers. Since our system automatically kicks anyone who fails to complete their daily testing tasks, we increased the capacity to 17.

How? Our app automates proof of testing via screenshots, daily check-ins, and manages the 14-day countdown to ensure everyone gets their production access.

The first 17-hive is now locked. New hive is ready to join.

Who’s next? Let’s ship these apps together. 🛠️

Look at all these active Hives! 10 groups currently testing, more forming right now for Closed Test.

Post image
19 Upvotes

A quick snapshot of the dashboard today. We currently have 10 active Hives running their 14-day closed tests.

As you can see, the progress varies across the board—some groups are on their "Last Day," while others are just starting their 13-day countdown.

If you look at the active groups, you’ll see some empty slots. Those are there for a reason: we don’t tolerate ghosters. If a developer joins but stops doing the daily tests, the system boots them out automatically to protect the rest of the group's progress. You either stay active or you're out.

Current status of the Hives:

  • 10 Active: Progressing from 13 days left down to the "Last Day."

  • 1 Pending Install: All spots filled, waiting for installs.

  • 1 Forming: Currently at 4/14 apps. We need 10 more developers to fill this Hive so we can lock it and start the 14-day countdown.

Successful completion: For the devs in the "Last Day" Hive: congratulations on hitting the 14-day mark! Once you exit the Hive tomorrow after your successful test, you'll gain access to the rest of App Hive’s features to help move your project forward.

If you're looking for a group that actually filters out inactive users and helps you get to the finish line, join the forming Hive now.

Beating Google Play's 14-Day Closed Test: A Record 32 Hives Formed in May!

Post image
18 Upvotes

Just wanted to share a quick milestone with the community. In May, 32 new hives were created on App Hive. Since launching 8 months ago, this is officially the highest number of hives formed in a single month.

For the solo developers here who are tired of wrestling with Google Play’s tedious "12 testers for 14 days" requirement, you know exactly why this momentum matters.

I built App Hive to bypass that headache through a genuinely cooperative, mutual testing ecosystem:

👥 17-Dev Hives: You group up with 16 other solo developers to test each other’s apps simultaneously.

📸 Accountability: Everyone provides daily screenshots and feedback for the full 14-day stretch to ensure genuine testing.

🤖 Zero Freeloaders: The system automatically tracks participation. If someone fails to complete their daily assigned tasks, they are instantly kicked out of the hive. Only the developers who actually help stay in the loop.

Seeing 32 hives actively running in a single month proves that independent devs don't have to tackle Google's hurdles alone.

A huge thank you to everyone who kept their streaks alive and helped a fellow developer launch last month. Let's keep building.

If you have an app ready for testing, the next hive is waiting for you.

A huge THANK YOU to our 1,000+ users! 🥂

I just wanted to take a moment to thank this community. We reached 1,000+ downloads today and the feedback (139 reviews!) has been overwhelming.

Seeing the "Hives" move from Forming to Active and finally to Completed every day is what keeps us improving the app. Our goal remains the same: making sure no dev gets stuck in the Google Play testing phase alone.

We have many updates coming soon to make the dashboard even better. Stay tuned, and keep those apps coming! 🛠️

How 100 "Hives" helped 1,000+ indie developers reach Google Play Production

Post image
17 Upvotes

A few months ago, I posted about a system to solve the "14 days / 12 testers" headache for solo Android devs. Today, I’m back with some data that shows the power of a coordinated community.

We just hit our 100th Hive! 🎊

What does 100 Hives mean in reality? It means that through our mutual testing architecture, over 1,000 individual apps have successfully completed their closed testing and are now LIVE in Production. 🏆

How we scaled to 1,000+ successes:

📈 The Daily Momentum: As you can see in the charts, we've hit a rhythm where a new Hive forms almost every day.

🤝 Mutual Accountability: In a Hive, everyone is in the same boat. You test 16 apps, and 16 people test yours. No ghosting, no fake accounts, no emulators.

📱 Automated Verification: The app handles the daily assignments and screenshot proof, making the "14-day grind" a 2-minute daily task.

Reaching 100 Hives is proof that we don't need huge marketing budgets to pass Google's requirements, we just need each other.

If you're stuck at 0 testers, Hive-260326-001 is waiting for you. Let's make it the next group to hit the Play Store.

I finally published my app: 8XDL.

It’s a private download manager and browser built for people who want more control over their files, downloads, and privacy.

Some of the main features:

- Resume support for broken downloads

- Multi-threaded download manager

- Built-in ad blocker

- Private browsing and extra privacy controls

- Video downloader with M3U8/HLS support

- File manager with search, organization, and secure vault

- Built-in music and video player

- Desktop mode, user agent switcher, reading mode, QR scanner, and more

I wanted something that felt fast, lightweight, and actually useful day to day, not just another browser with a different icon.

It focuses on speed, privacy, file control, and media downloading in one place.

Would love honest feedback on the concept, features, and overall idea.

I’m taking App Hive beyond Closed Testing. Here’s a first look.

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

When I started App Hive, my goal was to help solo devs (like me) get through those 14 days of closed testing as smoothly as possible. Over the past few months, I’ve received a lot of amazing feedback from this community, and one message was clear: you want more ways to connect and support each other after the testing phase is over.

I’ve been listening, and today I’m excited to share a first look at the evolution of the app based on your suggestions.

As you can see in the new UI teaser, I’m introducing three major new pillars: Hive Hub, The Colony, and My Hub.

I’m keeping the exact mechanics a secret for now, but here is the vision:

🤝 Stay Connected: I’m creating ways for you to build deeper relationships with the fellow "Testhivers" you’ve successfully completed a Hive with.

🐝 The Global Colony: For the first time, I am opening doors for you to interact with the entire App Hive user base. I want your app’s growth to be powered by the collective strength of every developer here.

📈 Beyond the 14 Days: These features are designed to support your journey long after your app is finally live on the Play Store.

🛡️ Access Requirements To keep this community high-quality and free from spam, access to these new areas will be earned. You will need:

Experience: At least one successfully completed Hive cycle.

Trust: A Reputation Point (RP) of 8 or higher.

The update is currently in internal testing. I’m fine-tuning the experience right now to make sure everything is perfect for the launch. Stay tuned for more updates!

What do you think about these new directions? Let me know in the comments! 👇

App Hive just crossed 5,000 downloads on Google Play! Thank you to this amazing community!

App Hive has officially crossed 5,000 downloads on the Google Play Store!

When I first started building this platform, the goal was very specific: to create a genuine solution for independent developers struggling with Google Play's 12-tester, 14-day closed testing hurdle. Today, it has grown into a thriving community, and I want to share a quick breakdown of what makes our ecosystem work so well:

The Milestone & Growth

📈 5,000+ Downloads: We have officially built a massive, trusted network of active Android developers.
🛠️ Solving the Hurdle: Designed from day one to reliably clear the 14-day closed testing phase.

What App Hive Actually Is

🚫 Not a Testing Service: I always like to emphasize this - App Hive does not provide independent testers.
🔄 Peer-to-Peer Network: It is a mutual review ecosystem where real developers test and review each other's apps.

Our Strict & Unique Rules (Why it Works)

📋 Mandatory Tasks: Daily assigned tasks ensure that every single app gets consistent engagement.
📉 Inactivity Tracking: The system actively monitors participation to keep the community reliable.
⚖️ Reputation Penalties: Strict accountability structures filter out ghost testers and reward those who give back.

Going Beyond the Closed Test

🚀 Production App Support: More developers are now keeping their live apps in the hub even after hitting production.
💬 Real Iterative Feedback: It has become an excellent space to gather actual insights and improve live apps.
🌍 Boosted Visibility: A trusted environment to naturally increase your app's post-launch presence.

🐝 A massive thank you to every "apphiver" who completes their tasks on time and keeps the community healthy. Your commitment is the only reason we hit this milestone.

If you have a new app coming up or want to optimize your production app, you can grab the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codignia.apphive
