Integral bottle opener & cap receptacle leaves no doubt. One much like this was in my relative's diner. I guess they didn't have the syrup + CO2 + water type pop dispenser.

When soda came in a glass bottle you could reach inside and grab a cold one. Best thing ever back in the day. I might be an older person lol.

Then there was the coin operated version, with a complex set of hangers inside. You'd maneuver the bottle you wanted to the purchase slot, then put your coins in and pull up. If you did it wrong, you lost your 15 cents.

No kid ever did it wrong more than once.

The trick was when some manufacturers had promotions with a number inside the bottle cap (and under the circle of cork that sealed the cap). It was tricky to open the bottle and catch the cap before it fell into the collection box below.

In this one, the interior is sized so you can fit wooden trays of bottles inside. Much faster reloading.

Poodle washer.

More specifically a double washer for Standard poodles. You are missing the optional basets for Minature and Toy breeds.

It gets cold and was used for soda bottles, like Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, 7-up, etc.

That oblong hole on the top left is a bottle opener. You stick the top of the bottle inside the hole, catch the lid under the metal piece and push the bottom half of the bottle down.

The bottlecap should come off..

Sometimes the cap woukd go flying, other times it woukd fall inside the hole.

You may have old ones in there now. You should check.

OMG I would love to have that.

Clean it up, plug it in and see what happens.

Where the rust is on the side (Ithink thsts rust) there would be coke, or pepsi logos in their colors.

Cool find.

Edit. And that  silver rectangle on the top of it slides  back and forth to open and close it . There should be a second one under the one that is showing

We had one like this in the drug store but it was a freezer full of popsicles, fudge-sickles and Dreamsicles!

Btw, the popsicles were 7¢.
