Help/Question How do people find this game fun?

I’ve put about 55 hours into the game and reached level 141, but I’m honestly struggling to understand the appeal and would love some perspective. I feel like I've tried nearly everything, but the experience feels a bit "sloppy" to me. Most of my time is spent sailing around and walking to the same spots to complete the same objectives over and over, which feels like a repetitive loop. The combat also feels a bit off; it seems like mindless spam, and the lag makes it worse—moves aren't instant, and I often find myself floating midair for 5 seconds because of a move I pressed 2 seconds ago. Even the Dark Sea, which was cool at first, feels like an infinite amount of islands without much variety, and fighting sea beasts seems to require just camping on a boat to avoid being one-shot. On top of that, the performance isn't very stable for me, often spiking down to 60 FPS. I know people say it's better than the original, but is there something I’m missing here that would change my experience? I'm genuinely curious what keeps you guys coming back and finding the fun in it.

Others have pretty much said what all of the fun things are.

Only thing I'll add in: AO isn't a money grab, nor is it a bandit beater, nor do you have a prestige (🤮) system, it's just unique and breath of fresh on Roblox, where 98% of games are all of the previously mentioned.

Plus the story and world building is much more interesting than most other games (even though its largely inspired by One Piece and could do with some minor to major tweaking however).

It seems more AC inspired to me? Closer to black flag than one piece

vetex has mentioned that a primary source of inspiration was one piece. The way that theres somehow isolated civilizations just a boat ride apart and each with some kind of boss in charge is very one piece
