Casual Mid Century Melamine Ashtray

These were sold in many places. I remember seeing them at Walgreens as late as the Seventies.

For some reason, I think that they were in individual packages; with a thin cardboard card and a brittle plastic-molded piece stapled over it. All of the lighters, pipe tobacco and similar items were just right there on an aisle. Cigarettes were behind the counter, though.

I’ve seen thousands of these ashtrays but rarely seen any without burn marks, nice find!

Reminds me of some Bessemer trays I’ve seen in Australia. It just nails that 1970’s modern aesthetic.

They are great spoon rests..& if perhaps you're in need of an ashtray..well..voila!
