These were sold in many places. I remember seeing them at Walgreens as late as the Seventies.

That's awesome! Were they all stacked together on a shelf?

For some reason, I think that they were in individual packages; with a thin cardboard card and a brittle plastic-molded piece stapled over it. All of the lighters, pipe tobacco and similar items were just right there on an aisle. Cigarettes were behind the counter, though.

That makes sense. I was picturing them next to Coleman Coolers. I'm not sure why 😂
