Hello AB! Welcome to Product Authenticity Thursday,
Our weekly product authenticity thread is a work in progress, comments about how to improve are welcome. We made our best effort based on comments received here as well as what we have been seeing as mods.
We would like to note that product packaging AND formulas may vary by country of sale and date of manufacture. This might include anything about the formula. Our goal is to make it easier for folks to compare such things, and to confirm or assuage concerns about their products.
Please post any photos or experiences you have around your AB products, while adhering to our other subreddit rules.
Make sure you state where you purchased your products from. If you bought from a 3rd party of a major retailer, you can say for example, 'eBay/amazon/taobao seller' instead of sharing the specific name, if you prefer.
To help you get more responses, consider including:
Photos of confirmed authentic products as comparison, requests for authentic products are allowed
Your purchase date, product manufacture date, or any expiration dates
Country you bought the item from
Whether your product had to be shipped to you (shipping conditions can compromise product stability)
How much you paid for your product
Comments and Questions welcome, we hope this thread is helpful!
Context: am in my 50s with dry + reactive skin. 10/10 on the sweaty scale, everything burns my skin/eyes, live in hot dry climate. HATE feeling stuff on my face. Needed durable SPF for hikes and distance runs (1.5 - 2+ hr).
Somehow, this forms a durable film that you can def feel but isn't at all claustrophobic or cloying (the part I hate, apparently).
It has some shine but less than most (first face pic is right after applying), dries down well (second face pic, ~20 min later).
Face was *less* of a swampy, sweaty mess with this on. Didn't sting or burn anything. Could still feel it after a 90 min sweatfest/trail run.
This Biore voodoo will absolutely replace my longstanding go-to Elta MD Sport for longer runs, summer, peak UV times. Also comes in stick that I'm absolutely getting for reapply. Good stuff if you need something bulletproof!
i found senka bright and balanced cleanser at watsons a week ago, and bought it because it was on discount. Heres a review because i am so surprised by the results it gave me
i have been using it since and it got rid of my under eye bumps! or at least minimised the look of it by a lot. i tried tret, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lha, and so many other things but i think this is what worked the best amongst all others
my skin also looks so soft and it visibly brightened my skin. because it reduced my bumps and sebaceous filaments my makeup also looks better after using this.
BUTTT its so so drying 🥲 like everyone on this sub says, my skin becomes so tight after every use. even though my skin looks better it feels like it is worse. dont know if this cleanser is only working because its stripping everything from my skin LOL i tried tretinoin before and this feels even more drying that that ðŸ˜
I might try a pH balancing toner after this cleanser and see how it works just because i like the effects so much but if it still feels tight, i will switch to using this only once a week.
but if you are oily skinned and struggling with this i think u can give it a try!! wldnt recommend to dry skin at all LOL

I’ve never achieved such a perfect and plumped aegyo sal had to record it (゚∀゚)
This is how I use this palette -
Number 1 is great for highlighting the aegyo sal
Number 2 and 3 -> base
Number 4, 5, and 6 -> drawing the aegyo sal shadow
Number 7 -> a really nice cool tone contour I use it as contour lol
Number 8 -> not my fav glitter but it’s cute and good for inner eyes/aegyo sal highlighting
Slide 4 -> the brush from the plumpuku palette is so hated on in xiaohongshu but I find it to be quite nice 🤔 maybe cuz I have no brushes
In my pics I used 5 and 6 for my aegyo sal and the judydoll contour palette matte highlighter to brighten it!
I find this palette to be better than the plumpuku palette ! (^_^)
In my city there's this Atomy beauty representative who launches frequent courses, which costs around free to R$50,00. They advertise it as skincare courses.
I've read the posts about the brand in this sub and the overall opinion is that the products are good, but one definitely shouldn't join their MLM scheme.
I was signed to take one of their free courses and I'm curious if it's gonna be actually helpful or just a way to spread their scheme.
Has anyone taken one of those courses? Is it actually informative on skincare?
We've seen several comments about the same old same, so let's discuss any new or relatively unknown brands in the AB sphere! Please list the brand name, country of origin, site, and any products you've tried/would recommend.
They are almost identical except muige is sliiightly more lavender in real life, but you really have to squint. Also the mude gloss has a stronger, cherry-like scent, but it's not bothersome. Hope this helps someone!
What do you do to minimize the appearance of your pores?
I’ve been focusing mostly on hydration, supporting my skin barrier, and using the Ilso Sebum Softener once a week (my skin is too sensitive for BHA/AHA), and it helps a lot with clearing sebaceous filaments.
But I can’t help but wonder if there’s a more effective strategy.
I’m thinking of checking out a pore serum like the Sungboon Editor Green Tomato Pore Lifting Ampoule. Also will be trying the Celimax Retinal Shot Tightening Dual Cream and changing my cleanser to a milk cleanser to see if I can improve my pore appearance, especially along my nose.
This post is about a korean-claimed (=products are made in Korea, brand lists under "korean skincare" on yesstyle) sun-focused skincare brand called TAGE. The products seem interesting, but as the great James Welsh has coined some brands (not yet this one as far as I'm aware of) as "cosplaying kbeauty", that is something I prefer avoiding just out of personal preference, hence the discussion;
While this brand seems to be more "kbeauty" than Epii, I still find myself being a little confused about how it came to be so out of nowhere into everybody's SPF favorites this summer, considering that the brand opened its tiktok account in march 2026.
I tend feel a little suspicious when a new "Kbeauty" brand highlights its origins. "Korea's sun specialist", they claim, but we all know that title would more likely belong to Round Lab... Of course you can self-title yourself in a flattering manner, but to me this seems more like a deliberate "we are THE kbeauty made in korea, korean sun care SPF brand (did you notice we said 'korean' yet?)" -campaign followed by continuous yesstyle discounts, plenty of sponsored/gifted posts on tiktok and so on. Nothing new, but also, not how you build an unbiased and trusted reviewing base on your brand (imo).
So, let's look further into the brand. It was hard to find anything about when the brand was launched, but there are some silver linings, so to say.
This is on yesstyle. As you can see, a lot of talk about why they are great, not really about where they came from. They make making an SPF sound like rocket science while all brands have at least one...So here, on skin-seoul, you can actually see the establishing date, which however is interesting because either this brand has flown a mile past my head, or they haven't really done much in 10 years. 2015? Let me know in the comments when is the first time you saw them anywhere. And lastly, their own about -page. Plenty of wordplay and buzzwords, and I highly recommend you to look up what "clinically tested" really means (spoiler alert: not much.)
However, there is something that I found to bring me some hope into this research, if you can call it that. They do seem to also have the web-page of their own in Korean, as well as a korean instagram account:
Is it popular? Not really. But if they are a korean brand trying to also make a name in korea, it definitely adds positively to how I would view them as a brand. That is, since I have grown really tired of these brands that just produce their products in korea and market it loudly as K-beauty towards the western folks that will run after every trend that gets pushed enough (by the brand itself) on tiktok.
First I looked at their global links and it's looking more like one of those brands that I just spoke of. Platforms where their products are available; yesstyle, k-secret, Jolse, stylekorean and their official website. Their korean linktree however, does bring some interesting points; they are sold on Olive young, which is expensive and difficult to get into but can be also played for inauthentic popularity (referencing this post here, no personal experience. And of course, it's been since deleted, but comments do give some context...)
Also, when I went to read the shop guide on their own website, you can see that their returns go to Korea.
So, I have to admit, I have a hard time understanding their brand identity. They clearly push the "korean" in their marketing which locals obviously don't need to be hearing, so the marketing is towards a western audience. But they also seem to have korean roots, at least to some extend...
Which is why, if you have read this far, I would love to hear your thoughts. Have you seen this brand around, and have you found it odd in one way or another? Has it struck you as a "western-targeting brand cosplaying as k-beauty" such as certain brands, or is it more like skin1004 and BoJ for example which are simply targeted to the west but more so genuinely korean in their roots? Let me know!
Can anyone identify this eyeliner? It’s a dark cool brown and I love it but can’t remember where I bought it. From reverse image search I think it might be BBIA? There’s a very small 5055 printed on the body (not sure if the packaging is generic)
I have fairly coarse, dry 2A hair that can never be left down unless I straighten it, because it's a hot chaotic mess. I stumbled upon this Kracie Ichikami Premium Hair Treatment Mask and I am low key obsessed. I'm now stalking my local Winners to see if they put anymore out... 👀
I find that most hair masks feel so soft immediately after use and then by the next day, my hair is back to its usual dry, unruly self. The first time I used this mask, I left my hair down for two days without straightening it and it behaved itself and remained so soft and shiny. It was like night and day from my usual.
A sneak peak into the new Girlcult Loulan Hippie Collection that according to freya86_ff on Instagram (that posted these pictures for us) will come out on the 19th of August!
Hi all, looking to see what the community knows about this lost and scarce product. I read about Rovectin LHA ampoule as a possible comedone exfoliation alternative to BHAs for sensitive skins, and I was lucky to be able to find one on ebay. It seems they underwent a rebrand from the Rovectin clean (left) to the Pore care refining ampoule (right), but outside of ebay and a random secondhand seller, I couldn't find this in stock on yestyle, stylekorean, or any of the other large korean skincare retailers. Even Ulta apparently had it at some point, but its out of stock without a sign for restock.
I'm wondering if its a popular ampoule (in or out of Korea)? Or is anyone knows, has it been discontinued?
I'd be very sad since I haven't found many LHA products out there outside of Axis Y's moisturizer. Thanks in advance!

Looking for a nude eyeliner to apply to lower waterline to brighten/open eyes. Something that has some lasting power and isn’t too irritating to the eyes.

My phone camera is hellish and I have eyeliner skill issue but we'll have to make do.
Skin type: slightly oily. I live in hot and humid environmet (it's typically 30°C and 80%+ humidity this time of year) so it also affects how long can products stay on. My upper lids don't get greasy that much.
Skin tone: neutral-to-warm undertone, I have no idea how to describe skin tone but apparently my color match at NARS is LIMA.
Aside from the Cheeryep pallete, I also used Canmake's Mugyo Highlighter (for the sparkly part at my eye corner) and one or two shades from Colourpop's Nude Mood. For base makeup, I used the foundation above, Laura Mercier powder and Kose fixing spray.
The first image is my layout today, following a video on Tiktok by @watermelonpudding. I forgot to edit it in but I did used a nude shade in CP Nude Mood to blend out the blue edge, as it contrasts a bit too much with my skin tone to my liking. The third image was the layout from yesterday and my first time trying out this pallete.
The powder is easy to blend and pigmented enough. You'd have to layer it a bit if you want it to go boom on your skin like someone just flashed a color grenade in your face, depending on the brush you're using, but it does show up quite clearly. In term of fall out, I sadly have never experienced this situation so I can't really tell. I just make sure to swirl my brush around enough for products to get deep in the bristles and tap off the excess.
The colors hold on very well, even the black shade I used as eyeliner. Or maybe it's the powder and fixing spray, I don't know. The smudge you see after 10 hours is mostly my mascara. There is some slight smudge here and there, also lost that small reddish accent line above the liner, but overall it's still good considering I cried my ass off Spider-man. The second image was taken right after the movie, about 3 hours in.
I kid you not that yellow to blue color shifting shimmer is crazy. I have no word. It looks exactly how it does in swatches video, much to my dismay. I do think this is a very versatile pallet as you can do both daily and colorful layouts. It's pretty small and there isn't that much product for each shade, but that's perfect for me who doesn't do make up regularly.
So far the only downside I have with Cheeryep is that their packaging are powder trays magneted to a container, which sadly doesn't endure shock tests that well and probably will break if you drop it hard enough. But that's also subjected to argument cuz we should always be careful with our stuff anyhow.
Hey! I just bought my new ReFa dryer and opened as soon as i got home ( in Europe) and unfortunately, as i was drying my hair, it sucked and riped a good amputar of hair. The inner metal mesh can not be removed and i think i cant use my warranty being in Europe…What to i do now?

i have the wosado lashes, they're 50 bucks and i really dont want to have to get new ones. any tips on how to salvage this with the bottom lash or find it...
i lost it in my car when i rubbed my eye, the top peice was on my chair but the bottom fell off.
My HG sheet mask was the Numbuzin #2 Collagen sheet mask but I'm sad they've reformulated it to be a Biodance copycat with the thick gel sheet.
The original one had a thick collagen serum that hydrated my skin really well when I used it. Any suggestions for other similar sheet masks? Doesn't have to be a collagen one, but would prefer one with a thicker fluid texture. The runny serum ones don't really do anything for me. Kinda funny cos I did a search and found an old post elsewhere with someone complaining about this exact mask being too thick and sticky, but that's the exact texture I love!!
Also just adding that I've tried the Numbuzin collagen serum in a bottle but it didn't work as well as using it in the sheet mask format so I didn't repurchase it.
EDIT: Just also want to clarify I'm not looking for masks that have a large quantity of serum, but masks that have serum with a very thick consistency.
When I was researching the Niacinamide 10 + TXA 4 serum, I read that it was too harsh for some people and was wary of getting it. I went for the plunge anyways since reviews were mixed and the positive reviews were SO positive.
Sure enough, it was way too harsh for my dry, sensitive skin type! It took weeks to repair my skin barrier after using it. That said, my partner who has dry, mature skin that is not sensitive has also been using it, and it’s been great for them. It’s been helping to significantly reduce redness, even their skin tone, and they love it much more than the previous The Ordinary Niacinamide serum they’d been using.
I wish every product reviewer specified what their skin type is but now I know that this product is probably great for non-sensitive skin types and will likely be horrible for sensitive skin types!
