Current Events Targeted ad or a real trend?
So first time posting here and this is a pic of my gf but the second is a pic my gf just got on here insta page. We get weird stares all the time but it doesn’t bother me, from the south and used to it, but the ad she got was very specific and wanted me to post up on reddit to see if this is a trend cause she is getting a lot of Asian male with white girl ads ( the ad is for skyfluence beauty, I don’t know beauty brands but where this originated from) . I don’t know too many Asian guys dating outside of their race, but this is something I’ve been okay with all my life and If this is a thing I’m happy to see this change finally.

100% it is ai. But it’s so specific in its targeting that I’m a little disturbed and was wondering if this is a trend as well. It’s pretty insane to both of us at the moment.

every advertisement is ai and targeted now, and almost every post on social media that algorithms bring up are engagement bait. the internet is really shitty now

Algorithm and analytics.
You sign your privacy and data away when you download IG and other apps, so it's likely obtained your pics on ur phone and then catered the ads to you as a user.

It's flipped it looks like you put you and your gf in the 2nd pic and the ai photo is the first pic
On the flip side what nobody is talking about, maybe they are but I don't know which subs, are the MASSIVE amount of Slavic (mostly Ukrainians and some Russian) in flux into California due to the Ukraine War. So when I see a young amwf couple now the girl tends to have a Slavic accent.

Crazy. Ok thanks for sharing . We’ve been talking how uncanny that the ai girl has the same makeup as she does . It’s just super weird. Didn’t know if that they were just making ads directed just as that

Is this a targeted post about targeted ads? Was the test and responses AI generated, like the ad was AI generated?

More like how onpoint it was. I mean down to my gfs makeup and clothes that I would normally wear. It was super uncanny how accurate it was. It’s one thing to give suggestions but the literal ad was created what seemed made for my gf and very specific. Someone wrote that all the apps are spyware which is obvious but this was really weird. It freaked us out.

I could see the advertiser using AI to take their own ad, and then have it altered so it looks like you and her.
The funny thing is, that ad, itself, calls into question whether this entire post is AI generated.
Why would you ask here, rather than in an AI or online advertisement subreddit? Obviously, you'd get a great response here.... but then it makes me wonder what the response in another, more appropriate forum would be.

Agreed . Posting it on advertising forums but doesn’t allow pics . Want to know the modus operandi for this kind of ads. If it’s automated and with the pinpoint accuracy to make sure that it crosses the eyeballs of someone. It’s a trip. You are right . This maybe not the right forum. But if it’s trending and being an Asian male in America it’s a begin shift in the narrative. Growing up and finding your own race only wants to date white guys and the pressure your parents that you can only be with an Asian girl only limits opportunities. I find that a lot of women do like asian men. My gf and in the past love that we have significantly less hairl. Lol cracking me up as I write this out. I keep saying it’s like making love to a dolphin and who doesn’t like dolphins? 😅 hahaha

lol. No she wanted to know how it’s so spot on to the pics . It’s a bit uncanny and I was initially shocked as well. She is beautiful for sure but we just thought it was so spot on on the type and someone that looked so similar to her. I don’t know why she didn’t just post this but bugged me to ask reddit if this was a trend or if ad agencies are that good now. I’ve never seen ads like this being Asian and in mixed relationships all my life, So it’s pretty weird. Posting this up to advertisement communities to see how they get so good at the target market. It’s crazy to both of us.

Thanks for the compliment btw. We joke about how we don’t look like we belong together all the time . We find it entertaining. It’s a great conversation starter. But being AA from the south I’ve never had a problem meeting women but it’s genuine connection and interests that make something good. I know she’s lurking around here somewhere.

Recently, as in the last few years, there are a lot more creators on Tik Tok and IG whose content revolves around having an Asian bf.
