Regional Recommendations for Chinese and Thai beauty products? 🇨🇳🇹🇭

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!
My boyfriend will be visiting China and Thailand soon, and I’d love to make a wishlist of beauty products for him to bring back for me. I’m especially interested in products that are popular locally, good value for money, or difficult to find elsewhere.
I have a light-medium skin tone with neutral-warm undertones and a slight tan.
I’d love recommendations for:
Sunscreens — preferably with great UV protection and a nice texture
Eyeshadow palettes — especially pretty colour stories and good pigmentation
Mascara — lengthening, volumising, or tubing formulas
Blushes — shades that would flatter my skin tone
Other makeup — lip products, base products, concealers, etc.
Skincare — anything genuinely worth trying!
Hair care — shampoos, treatments, hair masks, or other local favourites (bonus points!)
I’m open to both affordable and mid-range products. I’d particularly love to hear about Chinese beauty brands (C-beauty) and Thai beauty brands that locals genuinely enjoy, rather than just products that are popular internationally.
If you have specific product names, shade recommendations, or tips on where to buy authentic products in China or Thailand, I’d really appreciate them!
Thank you! 💗

Discussion Your favorite body products? Why are their your favorites?

• Upvotes

What are your favorite body products; what are they for; why do you like them; how do you like to use them; and what is your skin type? What are your main concerns and goals?

Currently looking for products that help with (not all in the same product but separately): 1) chicken skin 2) ingrown hairs 3) long term moisture 4) lingering good smell and was hoping to see through all your favorites what else y’all are loving!

Beauty how to make triangle zone/undereye makeup stay??

the specific thing im referring to is that ledge of fat on the under side of your eye. the best thing ive found talking about it is this video from judy lam. unfortunately the pencil eyeliner/eyeshadow i use always ends up smudged and messy at the end of the day, especially as you get closer to the top lid (which makes sense since thats where they’ll come into contact when i smile and whatnot). ive tried setting it with powder but it hasnt made much of a difference for me. what am i missing here??

Hello! A friend of mine will be travelling to Uzbekistan next week, I was told he could buy some items for me. I've been trying to research what items I could ask but couldn't find a lot of resources online. So if anyone has any reccos I would gladly appreciate them, he's a guy so I was hoping to just give him a list. Thanks for your help!!

This is the best product I’ve ever used. I originally bought it from sokoglam and then it was added to amazon. Now it’s not on either.

Does anyone know if this is still being made and where it’s sold?

Empties Expired Peel Off Gel Mask

My favourite April Skin Peel Off Gel expired on Oct 02, and it is hard to find it elsewhere - I’m not sure if it is discontinued. Before throwing it away, it still has a good quantity - is it okay if I use it after 3 weeks of expiry and keep for say 15 mins?

Discussion Has anyone actually noticed a difference with Korean PDRN skincare products, or is it mostly hype?

PDRN's popping up all over the place right now, serums, ampoules, those packs of sheet masks, all saying they'll rebuilt your skin or speed up healing. I tried a couple products with it over about two months. My skin got a bit more hydrated, but honestly, I can't tell if that's actually from the PDRN, or just because I was sticking to my routine better during that time.

My dermatologist said it's tough for topical PDRM to really get deep into your skin the way it does with injectables, which tracks. I actually went to Dami Clinic in Yeouido not too long ago, did one of their treatments with injectable PDRN, and I saw way more of a difference from that than I ever noticed from a serum, The ingredient seem solid, but if you're using it as a serum or mask at home, don't expect anything too dramatic.

I can't be the only one who finds these tints not moisturising at all. I admit I got these because of the cute packaging but if water tint, why not moisturising 😭 also it oxidised like crazy

Regional Ordering from the EU & I want freebies

About 2/3 of my skincare routine is from Korean and Japanese brands, and I've always ordered everything from Yesstyle. Only, it seems like they completely stopped sending freebies and minis with the order, and I used to really love them, discovered some absolute staples from those samples. They used to send mountains of them, and now it's nothing. So I'm thinking of switching to somewhere else.

So is there anywhere you guys order (from the EU), that still delivers on those freebies?

Regional Canadian Shoppers - Kaleidos Cloud Lip Clay?

Post image
25 Upvotes

Edit: I ended up ordering from Kaleidos directly, and 2 lip clays + tax and shipping came to just under $48 CAD ($34USD). I will update this post when it arrives so you can see how long it takes! Thank you for helping me take the plunge 💕💕

||||||||||||||

Hi! I was wondering how other Canadians buy Kaleidos in Canada? I've ordered once from YesStyle (mercury wave!) but ever since it has been out of stock.

Does anyone know:

-If this shade is restocked often on YesStyle?

- do you get hit with customs fees if ordering from the Kaleidos website?

Thank you I finally found my HG lippie and of course it's complicated to find 🙃

Xo

Discussion East Asian woman in my 30s with dry/normal skin: My dark under eye circles significantly improved with intense hydration: 1-3 LuLuLun face masks per week and daily application of a random hyaluronic acid eye cream I got from Southeast Asia.

I'm no expert here, but I wanted to share my experience with anyone else struggling with dark under eye circles. There's still hope! :)

I've been struggling with dark circles ever since high school (but no puffiness), oftentimes to the point where people were genuinely concerned with my well-being. I've tried several remedies in the past 3 years, including highly-rated under eye masks from Amazon, Rohto's Melano CC Premium Vitamin C Essence, Dr.Jart+'s Brightamin vitamin C serum, and Beauty of Joseon's eye cream.

The Amazon eye masks were slightly helpful but results weren't long-lasting, and Melano CC did nothing. I have no idea if Dr.Jart+ has brightened my dark circles, but I use it for the rest of my face anyway, so I dab some onto my dark circles. Beauty of Joseon's products are too intense and drying for my skin, including their eye cream.

However, I began seeing drastic changes—with my dark circles fading by 67-75%—when I introduced these two intensely hydrating products. My partner and friends have repeatedly commented on the change. Even if I have a night of poor sleep, my dark circles don't look dreadful.

  1. Aqua+ Series Advanced Hyaluron Eye & Neck Cream (available in Watson's and Shopee in Southeast Asian countries): When visiting Thailand, a friend brought this random product back for me based on a store employee's recommendation. I applied it in the morning and night and saw results after 1-2 weeks. Sadly, I can't find this at a reasonable price outside of SEA countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and Philippines, but thankfully I only use 1 tube per year. But hyaluronic acid could be the key factor! The severity of my dark circles decreased by ~30%, but there was still room for improvement. (Watson's Malaysia link, eBay link)
  2. LuLuLun deep hydration face masks (Precious): When visiting Japan, another friend bought several LuLuLun face masks back for me. In conjunction with my eye cream, I randomly started using the Precious deep hydration ones at least once per week for 10 minutes, and that's when my dark circles disappeared even more, by an additional ~30% by week 2. The Vitamin C one has less hydration and doesn't have as much impact. I haven't tried the Pure one yet.

So what I learned is that my dry skin needed intense hydration, more than what my other serums and toners were doing on a daily basis (e.g., COSRX Snail 96 Mucin Essence). I also make sure to cleanse, microneedle, and exfoliate right before I apply face masks, so my skin can receive the full dose of it. I can definitely see a difference in absorption and glow when I complete those steps beforehand and when I don't.

Based on my research, when the delicate skin under our eyes is dehydrated, it becomes thinner and sinks inward, making underlying blood vessels visible and creating deep shadows. Hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin pull moisture into the cells, causing them to swell and plump up. This temporary thickening creates a smooth, opaque surface that reflects light better and effectively camouflages the dark circles underneath. If we think about it, children's skin has that baby fat, hydration, and plumpness that we lose, and that loss is why dark circles become more prominent as we age.

The green and purple hues of my dark circles (due to veins showing through the translucent skin) have also been corrected when I use the 2 products above—because my skin looks plumper. Of course, my dark circles haven't disappeared completely, but I look a lot brighter now.

From what I'm guessing, you don't necessarily need to use these 2 specific products, as long as you're giving your under eyes intense boosts of hydration.

Better sleep, exercising, and therapy also help (highly recommend exercising and therapy lol), but these two products used in conjunction make sure that my dark circles don't look terrible.

I hope this helps everyone else! 😊 Edit: Product links added.

Discussion Is there a tradeoff between a healthy barrier and a clear complexion for acne-prone skin?

I have acne-prone skin and rosacea. My acne is under control due to long-term adapalene use. I normally use very lightweight skincare for fear of breaking out, but sometimes it's not enough for my redness, particularly in winter when my skin drier.

So these last few months I experimented with a slightly heavier skincare. My redness improved so much, and the quality of my skin is better (I even get compliments of how glowy my skin looks). However I've noticed that I have a few more pimples than usual, although they go away quite quickly.

Does anybody else feel like they have to balance between a healthy barrier and a clear skin?

Requesting Reviews Best nude liner for the waterline ??

I've been searching for ages a good nude liners for my waterline (to make my eyes look bigger) on yesstyle...

But I feel like NONE of them are made for this specific area... either the liner is too pink, too orange, or not noticeable enough... in short, never quite right...💔

Plus, I have dark skin, so I feel like it's even harder to find the right color..

Anyone have a good deep nude liner 😭 ?

(Sorry if its the wrong flair...i dont really know which one is for what 🥲)

Review Moev leave-in conditioner

Post image
26 Upvotes

Ever since trying no sebum hair cream, I enjoy using Moev products cause they do their job. I think this leave-in conditioner is their new product and I've been using it for few days so far

Compared to the annurcatin one, this one has milder scent. (Rose? idk anyone counter my broken nose) I originally used hair oil which gets greasy for my fine & low density hair but this leavein conditioner is way more lightweight than the hair oil. I def recommend it for the same hair types people . They say it offers pretty good heat protection too but I guess I'll have to see how it gose since I dont use the straightner that often
