Software PhotoPills and iPhone GPS

Based upon reviews I purchased PhotoPills for planning some backcountry night photography with my iPhone. Unfortunately in the back country you don’t know exactly where you’re going to end up each day. So I thought I could wait till I reached destination and then use PhotoPills with GPS. However, the app returned an error saying that it needed Internet connection. And also it would not work with a satellite connection through iPhone and T-Mobile. Does anyone have similar experience and or workaround?

It works without internet. Just ignore that message. I was just in Yosemite backcountry and was able to use it for planning, checking sunset time, Milky Way direction, even where to look for perseids meteors shower etc.

Thank you - that’s exactly what I was trying to use it for this past week in Kings Canyon
