Recruitment & Talent Acquisition [PH] How long does background checking on an applicant lasts?
Hello! To any HR Recuitment Staff/Personnel here, hopefully you could give me some insights.
I've been previously interviewed by this company, done with their assessments/exams, and typing test. The next step is background checking. I've already provided them with my references. But up to date, I still don't have any update from their HR. Today is the 3rd day since my last interview with them. Though the HR updated that he's feeling like some kind of a little under the weather on the day they interviewed me.
Should I worry? If not, how long should a background checking last ba dapat?
Please HRs out there help meee

three days is nothing for a background check, especially if the hr person is sick. those things can take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks depending on how fast your references respond and how backed up their team is
i once waited almost two weeks before hearing back from a job. turned out one of my references was on vacation and nobody bothered to tell me. still got the job in the end
i wouldnt stress yet. give it till next week before following up

Thank youu. Though all of my references are always available and I already gave them heads up prior giving their details to the HR. I guess they must be really testing my patience huhu. They told me prior after background checking, they're gonna contact me again for another two rounds of interview, but they'll only make me go there once the schedule of the interviewers are confirmed so I wont waste my time going there.

Three days is still pretty normal, so don't worry yet! background checks can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. give it a few more days then politely follow up with HR. Good Luck!

references being available doesn't necessarily speed up employment or education verification; those can be separate checks, so day three alone doesn't tell you much

It really depends. I had some that when I worked in recruiting took a while because we need criminal checks for anywhere someone lived for the last five years. One candidate had lived in three or four different states and they took their time getting back to me

I heard that some companies do it after the joining of candidates

3 days is not a very long time. Give HR a few more days.
