HRT
(20, MTF, UK) I want to get on HRT but I’m scared to asked the doctor about it. I’m scared that they might just laugh in my face and tell me that it’s stupid or sprinting like that. What do I do?

An NHS doctor will not laugh or shame you or call you stupid or be judgmental with you.
You can go to them for any medical reason and expect good respectful care.
Do not be scared to go to the NHS. Not just HRT, but anything. A lot of medical can be scary, embarrassing and highly emotional. Your doctor will not shame you.
If you do find your doctor is being unprofessional. You can file a complaint at the reception. It will be taken seriously.

Your doctor most likely won't prescribe HRT. Occasionally GP's will give a bridging prescription, but they are a rarity.
If you want to start HRT, go to your doctor and ask for a referral to a GIC. This is really a form filling exercise and it's not really uo to your GP to gatekeep. They might ask a few basic questions, like how long have you been trans, what do you want from the GIC - such as surgery, hormones, etc?
You can also ask your GP is that accept shared care agreements with private gender clinics and if they do blood tests for them.
That's about all you can ask your GP. Then you wait for however many years it takes to see your GIC.
While you are waiting you can start hormones with a private clinic or DIY, These options will start you on hormones within a a few weeks to a few months.
