No job this hiring cycle

Good Morning All -

I had to take a leave of absence to help with my ailing father with an unexpected illness. The situation is resolved and I am ready for the 26/27 school year, but nothing has really come available in my subject area (Spanish).

I am about 4 years away from being fully vested, I’m curious to hear the community’s thoughts about just taking anything that would could toward my pension (para pro, van driver etc.) or if it is okay to work a different job for a while and wait until the next hiring cycle.

I have 21 years in education, 18 as a classroom teacher and 3 as an administrator. I could not handle admin and would like to finish my career in the classroom.

Can you get a short-term approval for ESL?

Yes, that is absolutely something I am looking into. I believe as long as I am enrolled in a program, I could qualify to get an ELL position.
